@johntothea It is so, because we use the unit circle as a reference and not a clock.

@Deathstar11978, depends if you stay consistent. Generally we do CCW is (+) because the right hand rule give the z-axis/k component coming out at us and extending in the positive direction. Think about a 3D space.
