I watched Knebworth 1990 on MTV back when it was broadcast and recorded the whole concert on VHS. Just yesterday I dubbed all of the Pink Floyd songs, along with "I Think I Love You Too Much" featuring Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton, and Elton John singing "Sacrifice' to DVD. The Pink Floyd set at the end of the concert, in the driving rain, was among the greatest rock concerts ever performed.
Man, gotta love Candy Dulfer on sax in this. Of course, it's hard to compare David Gilmour's guitar playing to anyone else, he's in a class by himself.
I remember this as if it were yesterday. Pissed down all day and night - we were high on life (and other stuff) and finally, about midnight - Pink Floyd - the lazers caught the drizzle and lit up the rain drops like a billion diamonds in the sky as they performed Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
Love the Floyd saw un in 72 at the Lyric theater in B-more they were like a acid cult band, they turned loose it seems like hundreds of live doves at that show, then saw them in the 90s an arena show, it was still perfection, had a huge blk dude beside me, he was a groupie, lol for real, we shared his hash pipe all night, 72 was some serious owsley acid, but the 90s show was so cool. Floyd is a spiritual experience live, and also some good uh shag music.
An amazing number of people. Remember the "Mexican Wave" going from side to side across the arena? It would disappear into the bottom and reappear up the other side. What a trip that was, and all those plastic bottles being lobbed around at the front? My CD has CD rot.... won't even play any more. Thankfully I have a great memory. This day was amazing.
I was also there. Floyd were the final act of the Silver Clef Award Winner's Concert. I remember it raining and the lasers bouncing off the raindrops. I also have good memories of Wings performing Hey Jude and getting 200,000 people singing in tune and Live Or Let Die. The whole day was awsome although it was spoiled by Cliff Richard making an appearance.
Oleta Adams made her debut alongside Tears For Fears. I've got this concert on VHS but trying to find it on DVD.
Its interesting. Although i am a massive PF fan, I can imagine that I know nothing of their appearance. From that point of perception-upon looking at the 3 main guys, they look exactly how i think they should look based on the music they create.
If I would have to guess, I would've say that David Gilmour nailed the shit out of that saxophonist at the end of the show... And I can't blame him... I can't blame her either... With the DIVINE AND FRICKEN GODISH way David Gilmour treated the guitar that night, I would probably cum at the beginning of the first solo...
David Gilmor's guitar,Candy Dulfer's sax and Sam Brown on the vocals, how more magical can it be. I can still remember the live radio-broadcasting of the show and then the TV. Unforgetable those years were. With all the Gods of music gathering together!!! Although a Dire Straits fan, I can sort from the show Robert Plants apearence, Eric Clapton with a superband, Mcartney with "Hey Jude" and of course Pink Floyd.
THAT.., was a long, wet, windy day! when the mighty floyd had finished 'run like hell', it rained ,and rained hard! cunningly i had parked in stevenage to avoid traffic conjestion but the mile or two walk back in the monsoon meant i'd never been so wet fully clothed! i cant remember being so pleased to see my bed which wasnt til 6 the following morning! i had been awake for a good 24 hrs... great, great line up, unforgetable day for many reasons.
I have no idea. I know why they did Knebworth a year after their World Tour ended though. Because a certain Mr Waters had already done The Wall live in Berlin!
I agree with all of the previous comments 100% Happy Birthday David, may Pink Floyd live forever in our history and our hearts, Thank you for posting this CRYSTAL CLEAR Video, and Don't ever forget... The future has many journeys for all of us.

I'm wondering if the lady at 6:33 is CLare Tory. According to Wiki, SHe was there as a backing vocal too.
If that's so, it's a real pleasure to see the lady who gave us such an orgasmic singing in the track "The Great Gig in the Sky"

Yes ,she was there and she also sang The Great Gig in the Sky that day, its on varous bootlegs, But i haven't seen the video,
