Eiji Oue, un petit home molt gran! L'enyorem força. El senyor Joan Oller devia sentir-se molt cofoi al despatxar a Oue, però a nosaltres no ens en va demanar la opinió, oi que no?
Funny--- clicked on this vid without really looking at it and brought up another window. Listening, I thought "hmm, this must be a European orchestra, it sounds exactly like a rotary trumpet..."
As a trumpet student growing up in the states, I remember sitting behind principal horn player of this video, David Thompson, being impressed with the sound of someone who would be going places with performance. Great work.
OK, I have to weigh in. Not one person mentioned the natural reverb from the concert hall? This is a MAJOR factor! Also, as a trumpet player, why would you torture yourself playing a flat piece (ment for brass) on a trumpet for sharp (play with strings) piece. The lady is good, but I think any trumpet would pretty much sound the same.
Monettes are designed to sound good from far. i personally believed she chose this horn because it does sound good first of all, but more importantly to compliment her good looks :P All jokes aside, the tuning issue isnt that big of deal. Use your ear man.
me parece una gran interpretacion sobre todo un gran sonido de la trompeta pero me parece que el principio lo hace un poco deprisa y no de ja lucirse a la maravillosa trompetista mireia
Not true. Many think so because Herseth played mostly C, but it simply isn't true. Mahler actually wrote the part for Bb trumpet, but with the options available to today's players, one should play the horn that gives the sound he or she wants.
And Bosch is playing this on a C--you can tell by the fingerings, not to mention the shots showing the whole horn.
Fantástico - que bueno veros aquí, viejos compañeros. Suena muy muy bien! (Solo que me gustaría una trompeta alemana, pero bueno....) Y que siga Oue!!

Correct. A good player can make just about any instrument work for a given ensemble. It's not always easy, though!

a lush sound has to have overtones thats what makes it lush.

i meant overtones as harmonics above and below the note.

There is no such thing as harmonic undertones, as far as I know. You have the fundamental, with its overtones above..

No, this particular piece calls to use a C-trumpet instead of a Bb.
