Its Simple anyone can fight, and as soon as you get punched on your knees/ off your feet the fight ends unless you get up quickly.

Hi, I'm from the UK and LOVE watching Hockey live over any other sport...... Can someone explain the rules when it comes to fighting??? I don't know of any sport in the UK where the referees would let the players carry on fighting.... LOVE IT!!

you punch each other til one guy gets knocked down. if hes clearly out the refs jump in. if the guy gets knocked down but gets up quickly and is still conscious and responsive they are allowed to keep going. there really isn't a set of strict rules. the two guys have to be standing to fight.
