Google Chrome is a pretty neat browser, with cool themes, and a handy dandy incognito mode, great for porn!

But overall Firefox has better functionality, and better add-ons in my opinion. Firefox's adblock, download helper, web developer toolkit, videosurf are add-ons that helped me a lot.

I can't really tell any speed difference though. And Chrome actually runs everything as a separate process. I still like Firefox better, and it's my default browser.

Chrome is my secondary browser.

Also, in terms of rendering JavaScript, Opera's new beta (yesterday) beats everyone. Their J.S engine (Carakan) is eight times faster than Chrome, which is multiple times faster than the others.

I've been running Google Chrome for two weeks now, and I'm ready to dump it. It started out fast, but is now lagging hard. Flash players will not link, and locks up. No easy tabs for (Web, Images, Videos) it looks cool, however I'm not impressed. I'm going back to my old reliable browser. Sorry Google.

@badalice07 Yep, I had the same experience with Google Chrome. Not to mention things like inability to set Master Password in order to protect saved passwords, and the fact that the address bar in Chrome is actually a spy bar.

@darthirakli the address bar is NOT a spy bar. It's an OMNIbar. It doubles as a search bar. you can set a master password with the Last Pass addon, so that's irrelevant as well. You're picking faults that aren't there.

again, it's not the browser. I have been running Chrome for WAY longer than you and it is as fast now as it was when I first installed it and WAY faster than Firefox. So you must've installed a dodgy addon, or obtained some malicious script or something. i didn't mean to insult you. i was just making the point that Google Chrome IS fast, and if it was the browser causing the problem, i'd have experienced it too.

That depends, if you like to have a multitude of add-ons for your web browser, Firefox is the way to go. (although tons of add-ons will slow it down) However if you're looking for raw power, speed and security, go with Chrome, I personally use it, it uses around a third of the RAM that FF uses (w/o add-ons, even more with add-ons) and it does block more malware than FF. Basically, for add-ons, go FF, for speed, go Chrome.

i have been using internet explorer since win98 on my first computer making a change sure would be nice but a hard transition, i hate the favbar i like it better when they all come up at once, but the "incognito" is a nice add on for umm,,, stealth surfing
