It's not a fair comparison at all - only by price. I'd compare the Escalade to a Navigator. I'd say a Range Rover, but obviously the Range Rover is much higher class. IMHO, the Escalade is junk, like all American cars, the build quality is terrible and they're overall unreliable. Personally, I'd buy an Infiniti QX56, Mercedes GL550, Audi Q7 Prestige, or Lexus LX570 with my $90,000. To the previous commenter, the reason Japanese cars are smaller is because the people are overall healthier.

Comparing my Tundra to my dad's LTZ Suburban, I'd say the Caddy has by far a higher quality interior. That's probably a much larger factor for buyers of this segment than anything. That being said, isn't the Escalade full time AWD? I personally have more use for low range 4wd than gratuitous amounts of chrome.

I am an owner of a Sequoia and chose this vehicle after driving offerings from Cadillac, Ford, Infinity, Licoln and GMC. Its hard not to appreciate the build quality and fit and finish of a Toyota even compared to the Escalade, give me 20 sec and I will find a panel on that GM that does not fit right.

BUT on the other hand, When we got our 2007 seqouia , we got it brand new. no problems. None. Then we upgraded & got a 2012 seqouia. no problems yet. - We had the escaldes both for only ABOUT 6 months & they BOTH broke down. Seqouia... 4 years-no problems.ever. - seqouia wins in my case

This is no comparison. The Sequoia is not even in the same catergory. Who the hell would pay 62 grand for a fully loaded sequoia, when you can get other suvs like the Escalade, Range Rover, or a Navigator? Plus, the sequoia isn't even a real japanese product!

Yes I drove 1 b4 and even some drivers sya that it has more problems, especially the suspension, they just do a little turn to change lanes, like just a little tab on the wheel and my lips r already leaning against the window, I actually hav to hold on to the seat in order for me to not move, but yes the escalade is a more popular vehicle than the sequoia but it has more problems. It's not a fair comparison at all - only by price. I'd compare the Escalade to a Navigator. I'd say a Range Rover, but obviously the Range Rover is much higher class. IMHO, the Escalade is junk, like all American cars, the build quality is terrible and they're overall unreliable. Personally, I'd buy an Infiniti QX56, Mercedes GL550, Audi Q7 Prestige, or Lexus LX570 with my $90,000. To the previous commenter, the reason Japanese cars are smaller is because the people are overall healthier.

Comparing my Tundra to my dad's LTZ Suburban, I'd say the Caddy has by far a higher quality interior. That's probably a much larger factor for buyers of this segment than anything. I am an owner of a Sequoia and chose this vehicle after driving offerings from Cadillac, Ford, Infinity, Licoln and GMC. Its hard not to appreciate the build quality and fit and finish of a Toyota even compared to the Escalade, give me 20 sec and I will find a panel on that GM that does not fit right.

This is no comparison. The Sequoia is not even in the same catergory. Who the hell would pay 62 grand for a fully loaded sequoia, when you can get other suvs like the Escalade, Range Rover, or a Navigator? Plus, the sequoia isn't even a real japanese product!

The Escalade is way more comfortable. I live in NYC and when you pass near those high class posh hotels like the Waldorf Astoria, you see mostly Escalades,Suburbans,Range Rovers,Navigators. And never do I see Sequoias. If your staying that the Waldorf, you've got big money,so your right, the choice is clear!

All you have to go and do is look at sales numbers.Last year the Toyota Sequoia sold a little under 16,400 units, and the Escalade sold 16,873. And if you include the ESV and EXT models, the grand total in sales is 25,884. All you have to do is read business reports there friend. And the Sequoia isn't even a luxury SUV.Not even the Platnium comes close!

@patrickvang06 Get over it son, the fact is Ford, Chrysler and Government Motor outsourced most of their parts from overseas so stop pretending they're genuine American cars. Toyota is more American than you'll ever know & it may have recalls but domestic cars fared the worst when it comes to reliability and resell value. With respect I really don't have anything against domestic cars but you see their motto is sell more, less quality. Change that & I'll probably buy another Ford in the future.
