anytime any of you niggas wanna box with me when it comes to hiphop you bvetter know your shit u can ask alpo the same niggas the movie paid and full was about everyone was scared of them niggas and they gave cool j mad respect told anybody if anybody touch the king of queens you gotta see us dont touch my lil homeboy" go ask them niggas to this day fuk u talkin about ll got no respect lmao hahah crazy young assniggas
If these brothas were around in the 80's they'd know that LL wasn't even respected on the streets like that. LL was basically viewed as an industry gimmick, somewhat similar to the so-call mc's today. LL also got his style from the Bronx's own T La Rock who was the man back in the day. Nevertheless, aint nobody better than Rakim. Ra did Pain In Full at 17 years old too. People aint battle Rakim cause they knew it would be lights out!
@supremetechnique98 Come on fam, " Industry Gimmick" I was around in the 80s and the streets was loving Cool J.You dont have to like LL , but at least respect the man enough and not compare the man to this wack shit out here today. As far as Rakim goes, "Hell Paid in Full was his best album.Follow the Leader , Let the Rythm Hit 'em and Know the Ledge were classic hit singles but thats it.Back in the day everybody was rhyming fast .What made Rakim standout was his flow, its laid back.
@MrDjklj73 Where were u in the 80's God? Where were u when LL got booed at the 1989 Stop Racism Rally in Harlem? Anybody that was there in the 80's knew that LL whole style was T La Rock's. You downplaying the God Rakim my brotha? I'm 42 and anybody that was in NY back in the 80's knew this...everybody was 5 percent and since Rakim spoke the God's Math, the streets rocked with him, Kane etc... Also, LL from Queen's and back then, Run DMC ran Queen's son. Knowledge that.
@supremetechnique98You are exactly, right in 89 everybody was on the righteous tip;but what happen in 90-92 every body jumped back on Cool J dick. And by know means Im not down playing The God MC you cant even compare the two.The only thing LL took from T la rock was Def jam. Speaking on Run DMC Cool J wrote can you Rock it like This ;so evidently they were running queens together.By the way I'm the same age as hip-hop.Peace God. And I KNOW THE LEDGE.
@supremetechnique98 my g with all due rspect WTF arw u talkin about. i am 41 and the only ones not respecting LL was the niggas mad that their bitch and every bitch in queens wanted to fuck ll. LL was boys with alpo and rich porter the most gangta niggas in harlem go ask alpo how he would take ll on the back of his ninja spin him all over the city n back to queens tell ll to keep chewing niggas he was the nicest out man u dont know nothing bout the streets I WAS IN THE STREETS
you know nothing about what was going on u taking it from a straight perspective of niggas that was mad cause cool j was taking out every rapper on the street plus fuckin they girl Go ask mc search his wife symone wanted to fuck ll cool j got rspect in the industry TLA Rock? are you serious? thats like saying k solo stole dmz style tla rock was whack kool mo dee said that ll stole his style come on my g you dont know or dont remember those days stop it i was in the streets
@bloktv You 41 and From New York? Okay cool... Who was your older God back in the 80's son? What cypher did u run with at the Latin Quarters? You should be able to answer those simple questions since u were there. I got other questions that would let me know if u on the streets then. Have fun researching lol.
@supremetechnique98 You know what, I actually checked out Rakim's site on wikipedia and the info said that he was born in January 28, 1968. It also said that the Paid N Full album was released in June of 1987 which would make Rakim 19 at the time. That's still pretty young and incredibley amazing for an emcee to spit lyrical rhymes the way he did at that age! Paid N Full is definitely one of my favorite Hip Hop albums of all time!!
@rloco80 Paid In Full was RECORDED in 86'. Rakim actually manifested the concept/album a year earlier in 85' which was a year after he fully embraced the NGE (5 percenters). Even if you listen to lyrics he refers to himself as "Knowledge God" which symbolizes the numbers (1)(7) in the Supreme Mathematics. Thats why I said he was 17 when he layed vocals to that culture changing classic known as Paid In Full. Peace.
@supremetechnique98 Really!! Thanks for schooling me on the info. That's some interesting points! I never knew. Rakim was definitely ahead of his time!! He's one of my favorite emcees of all time as well. PEACE!!
Rakim, LL, and KRS-1 are all legends in the game. But as far as who's better lyrically then it's no contest for me. Rakim is by far the better lyricist of the 3. LL and KRS-1 are known for being great battle rappers but there is a reason Rakim dont have any famous battles to speak of. No one wants to get that embarrassed.
If LL is so wack, why do motherfuckers try to elevate their career by challenging THE G.O.A.T.? The man was prophetical when he said'' I excell, they all fail!'' I never seen someone hated on more than Cool J.
@tateavery21 commercially yes and like he said without him becomming a success hip hop probly dosent become as accepted as it did but if your saying that he was one of the most talented artists lyrically or musically of all time then no, people tend to get ddefensive over artists they heard as a child and they tend to make people bigger iin there mind he was good for his time and he contributed to the birth of hip hop and rap but hes not one of the greatest hes a pioneer.
@mrdta97 No LL did it all of what u sayin and all what the real peeps that seen LL do it. LL is the most versatile rapper/artist and MC. Peeps didnt hear "FO SHO", what ya hood like. Freeestyles in parkin lots and dark blocks. LLis a cultural ICON Listen to his entire body of work. LL is only hip hopper to go in multiple era's.No one else longer. Its a reason why. He does allot that made cats do what they doin now like LL said on his return of the goat mixtape.
i respect hip hop. completely. and i agree with charles hamilton. ll cool j is known for licking his lips and being shirtless and oiled up in his videos. rakim is know for being the godfather of hip hop. weigh your options...
women made LL famous.Mostly women bought his records and its well known.Growing up most of the chicks would have New Edition,Mc Hammer,Salt N Pepa,Kid and Play and LLcool J records while the dudes would have Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick,Public Enemy, and Rakim. Selling records dont make you the best and if thats the case then Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time....lol
@007gmoney from that comment I can tell 1. ur not over 30. or 2. u dont know shit about hiphop. LL Cool J is the best that ever did it. Every MC that tried him got BURRIED. TRASH??? that hiphop blasphemy. Even JAY-Z tried LL when he 1st started, and L ripped him. Why do u think that NOBODY goes at LL? if hes such trash rappers would expose him. LL, RAKIM, KANe, KRS,RUNDMC,KOOLGRAP,MASTER ACE, are all GODs of hiphop. but I guess their trash too huh? GTFOH!!
@BIGJUICEJONES LL Cool J is the best that ever did it. is bullshit i know KRS,RUNDMC,KOOLGRAP,MASTER ACE, are all GODs of hiphop.my point is LL is not lyricaly inspirational,
@007gmoney DUDE are u serious? LL has won every rap award there is. He's been in every relevant hip hop magazine. He was the the 1st solo artist to do world tours to make an impact. LL was the first MC to Cross the line and make a hiphop love song "I NEED LOVE" (after that, all rappers were tryin that). dude please do your research. All the old school MCs that u feel are insirational(lyrics wise) give props to LL. Last, LL is the only MC that can Woo a female and RIP a MC on the same CD. G.O.A.T
i'm totally disappointed in joey... putting ll cool j over krs-one, rakim, and slick rick. smh. damn, maybe charles hamilton isn't as dumb as a thought he was. makes me want to listen to his music again... only the good songs though, lol.
I don't care what nobody says. When it comes to hip-hop its about bars. Fuck the rest of the materialistic shit. Soulja boy is nice in the club (Im a dj so thats why i say that) but he has absolutely no bars at all. Mr. Crank that damn near walked outta Pelican Bay with no trouble cause he has zero/nada/obsolete/worthless/horrible/and whatever the fuck else you can say to describe weak ass bars. Hes hip hop. But only the party aspect not lyricism.
wow i like sloughterhouse but im with charles on this one "this nigga is buggin" lol rakim better than LL , krs-one the teacher fuck out here we need a hip hop head pole lol who would really pick LL no disrrespect he has done his thing but i dont think theres a LL album that i can say is truly classic
@stillthekid333 naw,i hate when people say lil wayne is the best this and that oh he'll murder anybody, and when i bring up an "actual"lyricist they never have facts to say why lil waynes better, just sayin' papoose will eat dat nigga...
Yall are aware that Charles is smokin a cigarette and that's why he has 1 foot in the doorway, right? SInce you can't smoke inside......Common Sense....Thomas Paine wrote it, some of yall haven't read it yet...
lol charles is talking bout lyrically rakim and krs is better than ll. joe budden is my favorite rapper and he is lyrical idk how he picked ll put its whatever
Ya'll See this group of grown ass men attacking this child.Half these so called grown ass men are 30-35, yet they not have him backed in a corner, but there getting emotional as if this is a debate over "Natural Gas Vs Fossil Fuel", like this discussion is going to solve a problem.WOW! these are the men that we aspire to be like...
wack ass charles hamilton fans niggas is corny. smh charles hamilton fans are them niggas gettin beat up in school every day dont deny it you soft as shit
LL really just became successfull, Slick Rick has meaning and tells stories with his flow. Rakim would tear LL apart. Rakim practically calls them out in his tracks and nobody tried stepping up to that dude. Its not even like Lil wayne calling himself the best rapper alive. if it came down to it wayne would probably skip a battle or try to pay them off. That poster was probably made by someone everybody knows and constantly talk about such as Biggie, Tupac, and whoever those other 2 cats were.
LOL Charles all by the exit n shit, if anything pop off like he say something wrong he gon slip out that door before he get punched, he learned his lesson from the chick tappin that eye tyson style.
@PlayOnPlaya17 The only idiot is the one who posted the dumbass comment about Charles Hamilton getting punched. Its not a joke if no one is laughing... idiot
hey man, i remember back in da day when the biggest things in ny was mike tyson and ll cool j. btw that exit 13 goes hard. people say ll aint lyrical, but he murdered everyone he battled, ended thier carrers.
LL Cool J was the shit back in the 80's and early 90's, but he sold out, Rakim and Krs-One STILL make classic hip hop music. Charles Hamilton may have a wack fashion sense but he knows more about that shit than everybody else in that room apparrently. Plus he actually freestyles which is cool cus alot of people don't even try to do that shit anymore.
Gotta Disagree with Joey man. Rakim is the best. As far as LL vs Slick rick you gotta be fuckin kidding me. Uncle Ricky all day man, The artist of storytelling nuff said.
ll was way overated bcause of def jam backing him so almost all his albums went platnium however when it came down 2 lyrics canibus demolished his shit, the fact that ppl even debate wether or not he lost is proof of the industry support power through the media, and it has reached dangerous levels now with all the ignorant rap getn radio play and pushin the real rappers out with a few expections.
Dude I dont know where people comin from, LL not only went thru generations but dude LL got bars for years I dont know if people aint listened to LL but dude got lyrical bars, dude ended careers and flipped all kind of styles and is respected on all those levels LL is tha man, hands down and charles hamilton, come on dude, slick rick ova LL, and wen people came at LL is cuz they wanted that title and my man shut operation down, LL da goat, u gotta give it to him
No homo but this is kinda cute. Im sorry but it cute. You got a bunch of old heads who have there embeded opinion and then a newby who knows shit, but has a totally different view.
I dont now its cute.
I respect how everybody handled it. Some cats cant stand debate and it always ends up ugly. The end was funny too. They had one last question, answered it and bounced and left CH amazed from the answer.
Lyrically speaking, i think Rakim is better than LL or KRS, but not by a landslide. All 3 bring a different flavor 2 the mic. LL is the most versatie of the 3, KRS brings the knowledge like no other, but Rakim spits the illest shit i ever heard. All 3 are legends and most rappers dont even come close 2 their skill level.
WTF? These old players smoked themselves stupid, they need to stick with the green, crack is whack. I don't understand, they were there at that time. That dumbass said LL has more lyrical content than KRS1, he couldn't look CH in the eye, cause he knew he just talked shit. LL is o.k. raidoplay, but basically sucks compred to B.D.P. or Eric B & Rakim. So ridiculous I'm an old guy 35, be real LL sucks, I can't listen to his albums over & over for years, no substance. B.D.P & Rakim timeless....
ahaahahaha pardon me i had to laugh at that...rakim had a bigger impact/influence on mcin and is way more lyrical than LL...listen to don't sweat the technique, my melody, know the ledge, follow the leader, etc LL isn't messin with Rakim
ahaahahaha pardon me i had to laugh at that...rakim had a bigger impact/influence on mcin and is way more lyrical than LL...listen to don't sweat the technique, my melody, know the ledge, follow the leader, etc LL isn't messin with Rakim
lol at me when you the one who caught feelings this shit is preference anyways rakim is nicer lyrically and got more classics while you probably like LL cause he take off his shirt in concerts ahaha
LL without a doubt more than 20 years still going. But come on lyrically better than Rakim?? They dont really have the same rhyme pattern. As for KRS I dont think he can flow better than Ra. When that whole Canibus/LL battle was going on so many people were quick to say LLa won for reasons that aren't based on the tradition of hip hop.
@daggakid90 Canibus killed him, the perception that he lost is based on industry politics. LL was an asshole about the whole situation, started the beef with Canibus over nothing, then got him blackballed in the mainstream. That's wack, he got scared cus he was battling somebody he had to know was better than him, just like Bus said. LL Cool J hasn't been relevant for damn near two decades, he's been a pop artist since Mama Said...
@invincibleironman3 in the mainstream maybe, that dude is still puttin shit out now. Better than 99.9% of rappers alive, definitely better than LL ever was. The reason why people don't like him is because the average person is not intelligent enough to understand what he says so they think he just throws random words together. Maybe 5% of the populus, if that, would understand his lyrics enough to appreciate it. I'm kinda glad he never made it, he wasn't forced to sell out.
So Canibus was better than Ras Kass? Better than Crooked I?
Wouldnt it have been better if Canibus did make it. Em made it. SEVERAL underground rappers are good, MF Doom, Aesop Rock .... if only LL hadnt murdered Canibus on that track....
@invincibleironman3 and Eminem sold out, sold his soul and makes terrible music for the most part nowadays. If he stayed true to who he was, yeah, but the industry won't allow you to do that and have success. Look at Joe Budden's career. Better than Ras Kass? In my opinion, yeah, Ras Kass got skills though. Crooked I? Depends on what day you asked me, I'm a big fan of both and it really depends what mood I'm in. REAL hip hop, freedom of expression, is only possible underground, real talk.
Em sold out, I agree. I think he freestyles with the best of em, but he got too much success too soon, I just wish Budden would beef less and stick with the music..he's entitled to his opinion. Yes, the industry wont allow you to do that...there must be "something to talk about" or some "power couple" type crap. I bet that was Mariah's Gambit...get Eminem sprung, and wrapped around her finger and have this media duet-empire, but it backfired (since Em was a goon).
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics hopefully Em speaks more real shit and spits real shit w/ Relapse 2 this year. I feel you on that whole it depends who I like better between Joe and Crooked, because when I want to get deep and hear a introspective joint I go w/ JOe. When I want to hear a raw west coast lyrical murder I go w/ that boy Crooked I.
@invincibleironman3 and by the way, LL did not murder Canibus, LL got ghostwriters and if you talking about the verse he laid after Canibus already said his non diss that LL took offense too. That was a bitch move and he made Canibus change his verse, came at him anyway and Canibus' verse on that track was STILL better. GOAT yeah right, that's some funny shit, in my eyes he lost. If nothing else, he lost my respect how he handled it.
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics, I thought Canibus made a mistake....LL just was opportunistic enough to attack.....Canibus is good, but these days U NEED AIRPLAY..anything....the problem is, the main players - Jay-Z, Baby (Brian Williams), they are nt really signing underground rappers....Jay-Z was trying to hype up Lady Sovereign??? I mean, its twisted...they looking for Frankenstein's and freak oddities that sell... its too reality showed out. Actually pop rap needs to fade...R&B/Rap hybrids must go!
@invincibleironman3 you don't understand the politics behind it, they don't want anybody out there that would make you think. If you're saying something relevant and positive, it's not allowed on the airwaves. If you want to hear subliminal brainwashing and songs for the devil, listen to the radio. If you wanna keep your soul, NEVER listen to the radio, it's mind control. I like nobody that gets radio play, with the exeption of Nas but even he sold out, signing with Jay-Z, he knows...
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics Yes, I think the radio helps careers but has made the artform stagnant. I heard Wise Intelligent from Poor Righteous Teachers speaking about the positivitiy in the late 80s - early 90s............then it faded away . ..KRS-One, Public Enemy if you remember, had a message....right around the time of the Rodney King riots..that was the apex of it...and the movement began to fade as "the player aspect" was emphasized...more trivial agendas dominated ....
@invincibleironman3...Jay-Z sold his soul, he said it on Ether. Jay-Z killed hip hop, how's he, out of all people, gonna make a song about death of autotune? He's the reason that shit flourishes. All these dope underground artists and Young Jeezy gets to be a star? Why? Because he agreed to sell his soul and spread poison in his lyrics. Canibus didn't even start the beef with LL, like I said, LL is an asshole, but I'm glad because now Canibus can make real music, even if he doesn't get paid.
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics, You ever wonder what Hip Hop wouldve been like had 2Pac lived? I dont have so much Canibus, but I do have MF Doom, Aesop Rock, Cannibal Ox, SkyZoo, Reks and a few other underground artists.... I lean more toward Premier and 9th Wonder produced artists....
@invincibleironman3 basically bottom line is nowadays you CANNOT get backing from a major label unless you very literally sell your soul to the devil. From Jay-Z to T-Pain to Eminem to Mariah Carey to Alicia Keys and Taylor Swift. They all have something in common, they sold their souls for fame. Even Pac, though he tried to get it back and that's why he died, like MJ. Kanye West-"I sold my soul to the devil, it was a crappy deal, atleast it came with a few toys like a happy meal"
CHARLES IS SO RIGHT. LL created this huge buzz with his songs for hip hop but he cant do shit in the G area. hes a watered down rapper. thats what hip hop needed when it was bursting on the scene. i respect him for that but Rakim can shut shit down like no other. any one disagree holla at me cuz theres do doubt charles is right. anyone calling him a pussy is dead ass wrong
I'ma need Charles Hamilton to go back and listen to Bigger and Deffer & Mama Said Knock You Out... Homeboy wasn't even around for All Eyez On Me and Ready to Die.. and he's tryin' to speak on the BIRTH era of hip hop.
Joey said it... "There's a difference to know, AND TO HAVE BEEN THERE."
who ever said that Rakim avoided the battle against Kane is misinformed. There was a Lyric in one of Kanes songs that was misinterpreted as a shot at Rakim. Rakim responded but Kane said that there was no negative shots at him. EPMD has said something aswell that was misconstrued as a shot towards Rakim but was false. Nobodys going at Rakim. MCs' are either to scared or have to much respect for him.
Whats wrong with you charles is raw and so is joe muthafuckin budden both my niggas when it comes to rap joe raise a good point ll did go plat but it still don't make him better than rakim if you want to go by sales ll win hands down of couse but bar wise rakim it's just like saying soulja boy is better than joe budden because he sale more records but everybody in the universe know thas fucking impossible joe would murder youngin in bar to bar rapping point blank period.
a HEDGEHOG LOVIN no flow havin dude who couldn't beat Vanilla Ice in a battle is discussing hip-hop with a dude who's been choppin heads since he first came out, Joe Budden. It seems like he did a little research, but all in all askin Chuckie Cheese anything about hip-hop (short of making it GAY), is like askin a gay dude how to eat pussy: he has NO CLUE. ^__^
whoa. if charles hamilton don't know shit about hip hop, then neither do joe budden. how has budden been choppin niggas heads off when he STILL hasn't responded to inspectah deck yet. and i personally think saigon beat budden. on top of that, everybody in slaughterhouse is better than him. and this is the same nigga who said the vibe bracket shouldn't be about sales, yet he's contradicting himself in this video about slick rick ain't put enough albums to be better than ll.
Joe Ripped The Unit, The Game, Ransom, & Saigon. About Slaughterhouse I Disagree, I Personally Think The Reason He Gets Outshined Is Cuz The Intesity Crook,Joell & Royce Has. If We go By Lyrics, Joey Is Definitly Not The Weak Link, & He's The Most Creative & Versitile. And Uhh This Video Is Way B4 The Vibe Bracket, And They Talkin About Something Different
and i know what it's like to buy albums. ll is dope, but he had always been overrated to me, especially when there's people in the world that really think ll cool j beat canibus.
ll cool j is overated and was only considered victorious over canibus because canibus was a young nobody entering the rap game whilst ll cool j was a multi platinum rap artist with no battle blemishes, the real hip hop heads and ll cool j himself knows canibus gave him his first defeat and pacquio'd the rap veteran causing ll cooj l to use def jam to assassinate canibus carreer
fucken royce taking a sip of patron straight from the bottle

LL and KRS-1 are known for being great battle rappers but there is a reason Rakim dont have any famous battles to speak of. No one wants to get that embarrassed.

If LL is so wack, why do motherfuckers try to elevate their career by challenging THE G.O.A.T.? The man was prophetical when he said'' I excell, they all fail!'' I never seen someone hated on more than Cool J.

tateavery21 3 weeks ago
@tateavery21 commercially yes and like he said without him becomming a success hip hop probly dosent become as accepted as it did but if your saying that he was one of the most talented artists lyrically or musically of all time then no, people tend to get ddefensive over artists they heard as a child and they tend to make people bigger iin there mind he was good for his time and he contributed to the birth of hip hop and rap but hes not one of the greatest hes a pioneer.
mrdta97 3 weeks ago
@mrdta97 No LL did it all of what u sayin and all what the real peeps that seen LL do it. LL is the most versatile rapper/artist and MC. Peeps didnt hear "FO SHO", what ya hood like. Freeestyles in parkin lots and dark blocks. LLis a cultural ICON Listen to his entire body of work. LL is only hip hopper to go in multiple era's.No one else longer. Its a reason why. He does allot that made cats do what they doin now like LL said on his return of the goat mixtape.

LL without a doubt more than 20 years still going. But come on lyrically better than Rakim?? They dont really have the same rhyme pattern. As for KRS I dont think he can flow better than Ra. When that whole Canibus/LL battle was going on so many people were quick to say LLa won for reasons that aren't based on the tradition of hip hop.
daggakid90 2 years ago
@daggakid90 Canibus killed him, the perception that he lost is based on industry politics. LL was an asshole about the whole situation, started the beef with Canibus over nothing, then got him blackballed in the mainstream. That's wack, he got scared cus he was battling somebody he had to know was better than him, just like Bus said. LL Cool J hasn't been relevant for damn near two decades, he's been a pop artist since Mama Said...
DaProlifik1reaLyrics 1 year ago
Canibus was a never was.....even if LL Cool J is a has been...
invincibleironman3 1 year ago
@invincibleironman3 in the mainstream maybe, that dude is still puttin shit out now. Better than 99.9% of rappers alive, definitely better than LL ever was. The reason why people don't like him is because the average person is not intelligent enough to understand what he says so they think he just throws random words together. Maybe 5% of the populus, if that, would understand his lyrics enough to appreciate it. I'm kinda glad he never made it, he wasn't forced to sell out.
DaProlifik1reaLyrics 1 year ago
So Canibus was better than Ras Kass? Better than Crooked I?
Wouldnt it have been better if Canibus did make it. Em made it. SEVERAL underground rappers are good, MF Doom, Aesop Rock .... if only LL hadnt murdered Canibus on that track....
invincibleironman3 1 year ago
@invincibleironman3 and Eminem sold out, sold his soul and makes terrible music for the most part nowadays. If he stayed true to who he was, yeah, but the industry won't allow you to do that and have success. Look at Joe Budden's career. Better than Ras Kass? In my opinion, yeah, Ras Kass got skills though. Crooked I? Depends on what day you asked me, I'm a big fan of both and it really depends what mood I'm in. REAL hip hop, freedom of expression, is only possible underground, real talk.
DaProlifik1reaLyrics 1 year ago
Em sold out, I agree. I think he freestyles with the best of em, but he got too much success too soon, I just wish Budden would beef less and stick with the music..he's entitled to his opinion. Yes, the industry wont allow you to do that...there must be "something to talk about" or some "power couple" type crap. I bet that was Mariah's Gambit...get Eminem sprung, and wrapped around her finger and have this media duet-empire, but it backfired (since Em was a goon).
invincibleironman3 1 year ago
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics hopefully Em speaks more real shit and spits real shit w/ Relapse 2 this year. I feel you on that whole it depends who I like better between Joe and Crooked, because when I want to get deep and hear a introspective joint I go w/ JOe. When I want to hear a raw west coast lyrical murder I go w/ that boy Crooked I.
boozaaa 1 year ago
@invincibleironman3 and by the way, LL did not murder Canibus, LL got ghostwriters and if you talking about the verse he laid after Canibus already said his non diss that LL took offense too. That was a bitch move and he made Canibus change his verse, came at him anyway and Canibus' verse on that track was STILL better. GOAT yeah right, that's some funny shit, in my eyes he lost. If nothing else, he lost my respect how he handled it.
DaProlifik1reaLyrics 1 year ago
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics, I thought Canibus made a mistake....LL just was opportunistic enough to attack.....Canibus is good, but these days U NEED AIRPLAY..anything....the problem is, the main players - Jay-Z, Baby (Brian Williams), they are nt really signing underground rappers....Jay-Z was trying to hype up Lady Sovereign??? I mean, its twisted...they looking for Frankenstein's and freak oddities that sell... its too reality showed out. Actually pop rap needs to fade...R&B/Rap hybrids must go!
invincibleironman3 1 year ago
@invincibleironman3 you don't understand the politics behind it, they don't want anybody out there that would make you think. If you're saying something relevant and positive, it's not allowed on the airwaves. If you want to hear subliminal brainwashing and songs for the devil, listen to the radio. If you wanna keep your soul, NEVER listen to the radio, it's mind control. I like nobody that gets radio play, with the exeption of Nas but even he sold out, signing with Jay-Z, he knows...
DaProlifik1reaLyrics 1 year ago
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics Yes, I think the radio helps careers but has made the artform stagnant. I heard Wise Intelligent from Poor Righteous Teachers speaking about the positivitiy in the late 80s - early 90s............then it faded away . ..KRS-One, Public Enemy if you remember, had a message....right around the time of the Rodney King riots..that was the apex of it...and the movement began to fade as "the player aspect" was emphasized...more trivial agendas dominated ....
invincibleironman3 1 year ago
@invincibleironman3...Jay-Z sold his soul, he said it on Ether. Jay-Z killed hip hop, how's he, out of all people, gonna make a song about death of autotune? He's the reason that shit flourishes. All these dope underground artists and Young Jeezy gets to be a star? Why? Because he agreed to sell his soul and spread poison in his lyrics. Canibus didn't even start the beef with LL, like I said, LL is an asshole, but I'm glad because now Canibus can make real music, even if he doesn't get paid.
DaProlifik1reaLyrics 1 year ago
@DaProlifik1reaLyrics, You ever wonder what Hip Hop wouldve been like had 2Pac lived? I dont have so much Canibus, but I do have MF Doom, Aesop Rock, Cannibal Ox, SkyZoo, Reks and a few other underground artists.... I lean more toward Premier and 9th Wonder produced artists....
invincibleironman3 1 year ago
@invincibleironman3 basically bottom line is nowadays you CANNOT get backing from a major label unless you very literally sell your soul to the devil. From Jay-Z to T-Pain to Eminem to Mariah Carey to Alicia Keys and Taylor Swift. They all have something in common, they sold their souls for fame. Even Pac, though he tried to get it back and that's why he died, like MJ. Kanye West-"I sold my soul to the devil, it was a crappy deal, atleast it came with a few toys like a happy meal"

whoa. if charles hamilton don't know shit about hip hop, then neither do joe budden. how has budden been choppin niggas heads off when he STILL hasn't responded to inspectah deck yet. and i personally think saigon beat budden. on top of that, everybody in slaughterhouse is better than him. and this is the same nigga who said the vibe bracket shouldn't be about sales, yet he's contradicting himself in this video about slick rick ain't put enough albums to be better than ll.

There ain't no beef, charles was smoking a cig. Hip hop arguements are usually good things. I ain't gonna front that "code song is sounding nice too.

sorry joe, but in my opinion...
rakim >> krs one >> slick rick >> ll cool j
and i know what it's like to buy albums. ll is dope, but he had always been overrated to me, especially when there's people in the world that really think ll cool j beat canibus.

ll cool j is overated and was only considered victorious over canibus because canibus was a young nobody entering the rap game whilst ll cool j was a multi platinum rap artist with no battle blemishes, the real hip hop heads and ll cool j himself knows canibus gave him his first defeat and pacquio'd the rap veteran causing ll cooj l to use def jam to assassinate canibus carreer
