I have a cheap condenser mic, I like the sound of it, but the only problem I have with it it's the background hissing sound when I speak, Probably from my computer fans.
Respond to this video... Well, if it's your fans, the noise will go away if you isolate them from you. Or try recording on another computer with your mic--away from your present computer--and see if you still hear the "hiss". It also might be a gain staging problem. Are you sure you're recording a healthy signal-- say -10 db--and not just boosting a quiet input signal? That will definitely give you a "hissing" sound. Good luck! John
I've wanted to become a voice actor for a long time. I love trying to impersonate game characters or make my own characters. Is it useful to be able to sing as well? I kind of heard that is sort of like voice acting.
my friend wants me to read passages (because i'm a native English speaker) so he can play them back to his class in Korea. we're good friends, and i would like to do it for free, but i've found i run out of breath! so he's paying me a little...
i don't mind doing it, but is what i'm doing for my friend similar to voice acting?
i make sure what i send him is flawless, no matter how time consuming :-S
That sounded a lot like Thurl Ravenscroft to me. For those who don't know, he was the voice of Tony the Tiger and sang "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch." I really enjoyed this video!
I use Neumann U87, TLM 147, TLM 103, and Sennheiser 416 mics. I recommend that you go to a local pro audio store and "test drive" a mic that makes you sound good--and that you can afford. Rode and audio-technica make some great-sounding, inexpensive mics. It's a very subjective call. Best of luck to you!
I assure you, this is no joke, sir or madam. The Feuchtingler method has helped countless struggling voice actors and lay-persons alike to reach dizzying heights of glory!
If this is done with puppets, it is disguised well. I think we're actually watching footage of a man's head explode, and I am an expert on anomalous video.
He sounds like he'd be good to play an old man xD

This didn't teach me how to be a voice actor at all!
But it was definently funny. Nice job!

Hey John,
I have a cheap condenser mic, I like the sound of it, but the only problem I have with it it's the background hissing sound when I speak, Probably from my computer fans.
How can I eliminate that? Replace the fans?
Thanks.

Make sure you can act too. Its not just about the different voices. You could use the same voices over and over and still be a VA if you can act.
