  • Your solution for the lift is simple and elegant; I like it quite a lot. I built a similar device a few years ago (video in my channel), but the lift mechanism was unreliable and eventually failed due to arcing (and then pitting) of the copper track through the ball.

  • Maybe you could use a clock motor for this, (hour hand gear). Use 12 marbles, 1 of which is painted a color. Then you write 3:00, 4:00, etc. on each marble waiting position. Wherever the colored marble is, that's the hour. Then use a staplegun to attach an arduino, and you'll get listed in hackaday twice more!
