@kav0r how do you know what the fake n97 is? mine wont let me personalise the omescreen and things, when i press options it just takes me into the main menu. is it fake?
The samsung i8910 does look very good, that's for sure.
For me personally, I love the real qwerty keyboard on the N97 & the sound quality for video recording is something where the N97 has the edge on the i8910.
But if the OLED screen & superfast GUI are key points for you, then the i8910 is a better choice IMO.
The selling points for me for the N97 are:
keyboard, aGPS (very good/excellent),live video streaming, push email, mature web browser, v gd video recording.
Connect your phone via the USB cable, fire up Nokia PC Suite on your laptop & then you should be able to use the Nokia PC Suite to install it for you.
Alternatively, if you haven't got Nokia PC Suite on your lappy & you've got email on your N97 configured, simply email the file as an attachment & when you open up the email on your Nokia, download & double-click on the installed file.
OK, thanks - let us know how you get on with the N97. I love the real keyboard, video streaming & multi-tasking ability of the N97..plus the massive storage means I've downloaded the complete GPS maps for the world & have used the gps several times for trips (which has been very good). Review coming soon on gps - just been very busy in my business recently!
LOL! Sorry about that :) I do seem to have a kind of London twang when I talk.....it always 'grates' when I hear it (I've just got used to it by now)..no offence to anyone from London!

It's just a clever way some people try to drive traffic to their YouTube Channel..they go trawling round looking for places to post contraversial posts with the hope that it'll cause some people to click on their channel...if it carries on I'll remove it...but I suspect he'll probably be spending his time elsewhere to bother coming back here again.
I'm not that bothered as long as it doesn't get too serious :)
i have the phone browser, it is very cool...although not all pics load on that for some reason, but its a beta so i will get over it. do you get any fb widget probs like i said?
havent really got lots of apps yet, but got google maps, nimbuzz, a solitre game, bbc iplayer, touch piano, and a wireless keyboard no casing yet, gotta wait a while to get the best one
To find out how much net time/data you have, go to:
Applications/Log
& the choose either:
- Call Duration (for voice calls)
or
- Packet Data (for Internet use)
Cheers,
n97boy.
PS: I had a similar problem with my original toughguard crystal (ie clear case) - the tabs snapped when I prized it off to swap my battery. I've since bought a black rubberized surface one, which apart from looking better, also seems more durable & has survived several removals so far :)
Re photos loading on the Nokia photobrowser - it does end up displaying the new ones after a bit...maybe it just polls the filesystem every few minutes & then picks up the new ones. Something I guess the nokia techies might be ironing out for the final release.
Re the F'book connect problems -yes I did get that issue too yesterday when I was out & about. I think it's a bug in the logic used to detect which network access point to use. Hopefully sthng that'll get sorted.
Hi donspaco - I agree - the Nokia beta photo browser is VERY handy & I'm sure once it's out of beta, it'll have a whole bunch of features that it currently lacks.
Even now though, it's still a very cool way to browse photos & is much more the way Nokia should go with the N-Series UI.
I've got a Vodafone contract N97 & they'll be releasing a new tweaked firmware upgrade in the next few days. I've been on the Nokia forums recently & see that there are some issues with the new Firmware.
It's in Vodafone's interests to make sure that they release a firmware without such issues - that's probably the main reason why they've delayed releasing the firmware, as they've surely been tweaking what Nokia's done.
FIrmware is now updated & to be honest I haven't noticed a whole heap of difference - mainly because the Vodafone firmware was already a tweaked version of Nokia's & I suspect they spent some time ironing out some of the worst glitches that Nokia hadn't had time to remove.
The race to release *first* really counted back in June, due to the plethora of competitor's phones being released, so Nokia took the risk of getting their's to market perhaps a bit b4 it was really ready. All good now :)
how do you fix the "invalid server name" issue with wifi ?

This may sound incredibly stupid but. I'm debating between the new iPhone 3GS and the Nokia N97 and i'm like you where i crave a physical keyboard.
there were 3 things i wasn't sure on.
1. can you transfer music from itunes onto the nokia
2. on the home screen where it has face book can that be changed to myspace
3. and is it easy to arange all your folders like you have or is it really fidely

Hi Jaythed0n - sorry for the delay in replying; I've been pre-occupied with business recently.
I've not played with the 8900, so I can't give impartial advice. But, the screen size of the N97 is very good, and that's an inportant factor for me.
Best regards,

When i try to install the new nimbuzz version it says i have to remove user adult content or something, which i'm having trouble to do, any ideas?
randomvids001 2 years ago
Hi randomvids001 - if you download/install via your wireless network at home, you won't get this issue.....
What you're seeing is the firewall/content filter in place for your phone network (I had the same message).
Just download it at home & you should be fine.

good video, i was stuggling with the shortcut menu before. I was wondering how to change them individually, so that was very helpful.
I have a question though, have you updated your phone yet? i cant get it to work.
Also i have been having some internet issues with it, often the facebook app wont work for me and it says something about packet data.
Also for some reason when i go to view photos now it doesnt show me the pics, there all grey boxes. if i go by album or month they show up though.

lol fair enough...what contract you on? can you check how much net time you have left?
you got a case for yours? I got the toughguard case, loved it, but it has these crappy hinges holding it on and it broke in 4 days.

Yeah, nimbuzz is a great IM tool - still to try out skype with it, but gonna try & find an excuse to call someone soon & video it at the same time :)
Also, I'm using gravity (really inexpensive) for my twitter accounts & it's very good.
