This looks interesting, but it certainly isn't "revolutionary". The only bird-like thing about it is moving the wings back, and that in itself isn't groundbreaking at all for aeronautics. Flight from flapping wings would be groundbreaking, but difficult. If it could at least just flap the wings to appear as a bird (while still propeller-powered), then it would worth attention. If it's "quite uncontrollable", I don't see why its so exciting.
Yea that's cool, just have something u can barely see record every move you make. That sounds great!!! People need too wake up. The military will be robotic. It will save lives right? Sky net anyone? If you haven't seen the robocop video it's to the side.
You can stop it from crashing into trees by making a camera that shows what's in front of the robot, then attach a small screen to the remote control to show where is it going!
MONITORING. BIG BROTHER. I think these are the only key words that came out of this.
YAY let's just assign robots to each individual and if they catch you doing a crime you go in the slammer! Good idea let's make a bird... To spy on people.. ffs
monster4urthoughts....what if say, in 15 years....your "normal activities" are deemed "wrong" or "illegal". What then?
Just because things are fairly democratic now, doesn't mean they"ll always be. What if your political opinions are different than a political group that is in power? Will they suppress you, if they have the means to do so?
It's a privacy issue, first. People are entitled to their privacy. Second, it's a power issue. Balance of power between the people and the gov't.
Americans can destroy the government (It's actually a right of Americans) sort of like a citicens arrest, u can, as a citizen arrest police officers for doing something illegal.
"Normal activities" such as, saying what you want....thinking what you want to about things, etc.....I don't have to "define" "normal activities" because I was referring to YOUR "normal activities", whatever they may be. The point was what if things that are NOW legal and normal weren't considered so in the future? What would you do?
A revolution? You stated, "that's what revolutions are for..." How do you have a "revolution" that isn't even able to be STARTED due to invasive surveillance.
For instance, a pontential future objector says something like, "Hey, this isn't right! We need to do something." Due to lovely surveillance technologies, that person can be suppressed, silenced, imprisoned, etc before they are able to get any "revolutionary" ideas. Cool how that works, huh?
You are right, MOST things AREN'T run by the government, nor will be ...and oddly, they don't have to be in order for a society to still be considered a monitored police state.
Lastly, why would you wait for the balance of power to shift so much that a "revolution" (that likely wouldn't even be possible) is NEEDED? Why not speak your mind now? Oh, cause you "don't think you'll be alive to see it happen" and "don't care?"
What a wonderful perspective! You'll be happy to leave the possibility open for potential future tyrants to rule over your grandkids or great-grandkids?
Think about it and be vigilant with your heart and mind.

Not impressed.
All they did is add "flapping" wings and a camera to a prop-rc plane.

I always wanted one of these...the most illegal but fun way of bird hunting: fly up behind a bird and pump it full of .22 rounds.

Why would you have to worry about
being spied on if you're not doing
anything wrong?
IF you're doing your normal activities
than you shouldn't be paranoid about
being watched on...

but then you'd have to define what "normal activities" are...
there's room for compromise...
and besides...
that's what revolutions are for...
but the people make up the government so if it were to get out of hand something will be done...
not everyone and everything is run by the government...well at least not yet...and i don't think i'll be alive to see it happen...
so i really don't care...

Disguise it in the shape of a policeman's hat - then nobody will suspect + it can't crash if it's perches on a policeman's head
