Trying to find the mystery clue..."

  • Greatest ACDC song in the fuckin world

  • This music does not need 720/1080 to sound good ! Imagine this one In 1080, it would be fatal !!

  • when i need advice...i listen to powerage!

  • I love the Stones, always will, but AC/DC is like hard rock Stones on Steroids. =]

  • bon scott had such a natural voice and range for this music, he didn't have to try to be a rock star, he was born that way, i love this whole album, bon is such a great singer to listen to, and this band rocks, the best version of this band by far,

  • without doubt my favorite bon scott era album

  • Powerage is such a underrated album. It's my favorite AC/DC album hands down. This song is great.Powerage rules!!

  • This album blow away alot of music happening in the states at the time. When they did Midnight Special in 78 i believe Ted Nugent and Steven Tyler knew their 4cord rock was going to take off and if they didnt then they were stupid cause 32 years later they are still making millions........

  • Powerage is my favorite AC/DC album.Love it,down payment, what's next to the moon, sin city,,etc.Very underated album.Better than highway to hell.

  • Remember jammin' to this with my gibson the paul and musicman 112, an awesome record with vintage Bon!

  • Most Fucking Excellent!

  • rap CAN NOT campare!!!!

  • best album ever made this album is the one that i first heard bon scott it changed my look on acdc thank god for bon scott

  • I loved this from the moment I heard it, 22 years ago (mind you, that was ten years after its release, and 8 years after Bon left us)... The Powerage album was so different to what had gone before, and in so many respect what came after... "muso's music" The way songs like this one build their tension throughout the song, from the almost casual vocal delivery through the first two verse, to the near-yowl of the final choruses...

  • THE BEST ALBUM BY ac/dc...

  • OLD ROCK N ROLL! AC/DC!

  • My first album ever. My aunt who gave it to me thought the devil had found a record label :-). Still goosebumps after 32 years. All time favourite and absolutely their best.

  • indeed,

    their best

  • My fave ACDC album

  • Favorite AC/DC record, EVER.

  • POWERAGE..YESSSS!

  • Bon Scott>>>>>>Brian

  • Stop fucking around with Brian Johnson assholes! Even Bon Scott was a Brian Johnson's fan!

So... A lil' more respect fellas...

  • who's casey johns? :D :D ..fuck bon scott's lyrics..its not a song, its a rock n roll STORY...now u hear songs like war machine or big jack and u dont know what the hell is brian talkin about..

  • @3agleh, Casey Jones, famous train engineer, died April 30, 1900

  • Brain states they are going back to the AC/DC of old with their new album, it is nothing like AC?DC pre Bon Scott. it was much heavier and darker music, AC?DC die when Bon died.

  • well,they didnt die die,but u cannot hear anything close to bon's shit.,,the music is still good,but bon's voice,lyrics & performance...it gave it SOUL.

  • to have the voice, to sing and have the lure of a hmmm devil? haha ... to bad he is gone.... his voice is so diabolic

  • there must be a lo of people like me who think that Powerage is acually the best ACDC album ever! Certainly I've never heard anything better!

  • Amen brother. Just great,...great...timeless

  • I agree that its the best when it came to the raw music. I wont say that 'Mutt' Lange ruined, Highway, because, thats not true, but he brought them to a whole new level of heavy, but with a melody.

    Otherwise, Powerage is their best.

  • Bon, i miss you so much! God, please give us Bon back!!!!!

  • one of the most underrated ac/dc songs, this and problem child is my favorites

  • The most underrated and underplayed album in rock history!!!

    AC/DC!!!

  • @YodaHasNoGrammer totally agree.too much about highway to hell album.Highway's good but powerage is the best.

  • @YodaHasNoGrammer I could not agree more...I would also put Flick Of The switch up there with POWERAGE both great and yet underrated albums.

  • awesome album

  • I remember the first time i heard this album and this band more than 30 years ago in high school and thinking it was the best sound I ever heard..... i still feel that way!

  • All right officer I confess , it's all coming back...I didn't mean to hurt that woman of mine...it was a heart attack

    great lyrics

  • Powerage is my favorite AC/DC album, and it's hard as fuck for me to call anything my favorite.

  • Bon rocks!!! he live 4ever in our hearts!!!!

  • Well i tied my baby to the railroad track..........lol as always with Bon-great lyrics

  • crank it whats next to mars

  • Love the guitar riff!!!!!

  • AC/DC is the greatest rock n roll band ever.

  • AC DC the best...

    ROCK 4 EVER !

    RIP Bon ....

  • You can debate whether Powerage or Let There Be Rock is their greatest album and you wouldn't be wrong with either choice. If I'm trapped on an island that happens to have sufficient food, alcohol, and batteries for my ipod my shuffle list will have this song at the top of the AC/DC playlist followed next by Live Wire, If You Want Blood, Night Prowler, Big Gun, Problem Child, Down Payment Blues, Gimmie a Bullet To Bite On, etc right behind it.

  • i agree 100 percent theyre both my favorite ac dc albums!

  • Back In Black is also great, but i wouldn't call it "the best" of AC/DC

  • AC DC ROCK 4 EVER!! tutte le loro canzoni sono bellissime (come la kitarra di angus)!!!

  • this is the only LP i got but its the best cause it has: Riff Raff

    rock n roll damnation

    whats next to the moon

  • haha this is beast!!!!luv this song!!!!

  • All hail the true gods of Rock N Roll.

    35 Yrs guys!

Gotta be the best Rock N Roll band to have ever walked this planet.

Long Live The True Gods Of Rock N Roll.

  • Powerage is AC/DC's best album.

    Marine Corps Favorite Band

    AC/DC hard rock, best ever

  • first time i heard this i was shocked, its a different nasty soundin song, ac/dc fuckin rocks

  • best one ever!

  • couldn't agree more

  • I love the little break at 1:53 ending in the whammy-bar growl.

  • After Bon Scott died...Mark Storace from Krokus was asked to be their vocalist. He declined! IMO though...he would have been "THE MAN" to replace Bon. Anyway...no disrespect intended toward Brian Johnson. I mean, did "Back In Black" fail?

  • the first time i heard "Burning Bones of war", from Krokus, I swore it was AC/DC

  • You have ACDC with Bon Scott, and that other group with Brian Johnson. They should have changed their name. Yeah! I know! The Angus Brothers are ACDC! But still. We all can sing like Brian after drinking Jack Daniels, can't we?

  • when a singer leaves a band, and new one joins then you can change the name, but when a band member passes on you should keep the same name out of respect, at least thats what I believe, I always felt Van Halen should have changed there name to Van Hagar, and then to Van oops we made a big mistake get Dave back on the line Lee Roth band.

  • You should listen to Brian Johnson when he was in Geordie. He's got a brilliant voice, and saying that he can't sing is pure stupidity. Bon Scott rocked, but Brian Johnson was the only one who could replace him. Taking someone with a more similar voice would have been disrespectful. And why should they change their name? The only thing that has changed is Bon himself, but it's still the same old AC/DC with Angus, Malcolm and Phil and Cliff's been with them for ages too.

    Rock In Peace, Bon

  • no dude, try singing the songs like brian does, fill it with the same blues and soul, man, I doubt on him for a long time, but he's big, i tell you

  • Yup.

  • It's really 2 different eras of AC/DC being discussed here. Bon and Brian, I can rock on either but my heart and soul will always return to Bons music, he had a shrill voice, a great since of humor,he was creative with his lyrics and new what AC/DC was all about. They still had that raw garage band sound. This is true Rock the way it was intended. If it didn't piss off your parents, the cops, your neighbors. What was the point? Us teenagers in the 70's had to split with the hippies of the 60's

  • you couldnt say it any better man =D

  • Bravo, *applaudes* BRAVO! *begins to cry*, It just brings back so many fond memories.....*faints*

  • none of thier albums are bad xD

  • I got this recrod for my birthdday. oe of ac/dc's best songs

  • they awesome they kick ass man

  • been listening to song since 1978..they kick ass to his day..rock on AC/DC...

  • This shit is so cool

    ~AC/DC~

  • solodallasII you're but another thing about us who say rip bon, its strange because we are not of his familly and we don't know him at all. We can say that he was and is the best singer ever but saying rip should be say only by the familly not by a bunch a fan we are

  • o yes my brother knows how often I was listen to this album...he had his room beside my room my poor brother :( He liked Bon Scott 2 but not in such a fanatic way as me;)

  • To all those who say "RIP Bon":

What would Bon want? Certainly not for us to dwell on the past, he would say to go see AC/DC and have a drink on him!

  • you are so very right! this band is second only to the Rolling Stones as the best band that ever walked

  • Well, I prefer AC/DC, but Angus likes the Stones.

  • Hey with R.I.P. Bon we just show our sadness about his death.

  • But think about his charcter. Was he one to dwell on the past, or fucking party in the present? The same with the rest of the band. Did they mope around for years afterward, or just continue to rock? Bon's family even said it. They told the band, "Find a new singer, it's what Bon would want." And they did.

  • If you lose your parents or a friend, then you also have to continue with your life. Nevertheless you miss them very much and might go to their graves and pray. I'd do that anyway. It isn't different with Bon.

  • It's only different with Bon because he was such a care-free, living-in-the-moment person.

  • Best hard rock album ever

  • Bon was awesome, so is Brian. Frankly I don't see how we can compare the two. Sadly Bon left us long ago and Brian has done an excellent job for almost 30 years. ACDC is, was and always will be terrific!

  • So true. All the Brian haters aren't real AC/DC fans. Brian has held up fucking well for almost 30 years. Bon was only with AC/DC for 5 years, so saying he never lost his voice isn't fair.

  • You are absolutely right. I just love Bon's voice more than Brians. But they couldn't find a better singer after Bon's passing away.

  • Are you saying Brian is a bad singer?

  • Are you crazy? I am one of the biggest AC/DC Fans. I love Brian. They couldn't find a better singer after Bon's passing away. But you have to understand that Bon is my idol and Bon got the better rock voice.

But I think that AC/DC wrote the better songs with Brian altogether. You can see at

"Back In Black", most sold rock album and second most sold album ever.

  • When you said, "They couldn't find a better singer after Bon's passing away." I thought you were dissing Brian, but now I know what you mean. I agree, they matured as songwriters with Brian. I think Brian has a better blues voice, like in BUYV.

  • What's BUYV?

Yes he absolutely got a better blues voice. But I think Bon got the better hard rock voice.

  • Blow Up Your Video.

Bon is just unique. There's really no way to describe his voice.

  • You are entitled to your own opinion but I think most would disagree with your opinion. Bon and Brian I personally like equally and I have listend to every AC/DC song(Rare and B - sides included) and from listening to their songs I think Brian defines hardrock with his voice. Now dont get me wrong Bon's voice is definetly rock but I think its more of a Rock N Roll softer rock than Brians. Bon has quickness, pitch, and just good rock and roll sound. Brian has blues and hard rock in my opinion.

  • I think you are wrong. Many people will agree with me that Bon's voice defines hard rock. Bon's voice was way better than Brian's, here you can ask many experts.

  • Really now? Can you give a list of five songs of both bons and brians which show that bon is harder on his song than brians? Please if you can do so Ill be impressed.

  • What do you mean with harder?

  • Harder rock sounding. Bon was great and powerage is my favorite AC/DC album but Bon was most definetly softer sounding than Brian. Brian has a stronger voice and when the band lost bon i think they got more harder. With bon they were faster and bluesy. For example: Whats next to the moon, Ride on, Walk all over you, Touch too much, whole lotta rosie, and etc.

With brian they hit harder with the lyrics and sound. Hells bells, back in black, shook me all night long, thunderstruck, razors edge.

  • The voice of Brian IS stronger, there I agree. But his voice is not more hard rock. Bon got the real hard rock voice in my opinion. stronger voice isn't = more hard rock

  • Yes a stronger voice doesn't automatically mean you are harder rock but with his harder voice and the sound Angus, Phil, Cliff, and Malcolm give him through the notes in the music he can hit the notes harder thus equalling harder rock.

  • Yes the band played harder with Brian and maybe they also play more hard rock but the fact of this discussion is the better hard rock voice and there I still have to say that Bon got the better hard rock voice than Brian.

  • The only songs that come to mind at this moment that bon has hard are dirty deeds, tnt, possibly problem child, and i guess walk all over you. Bon sounds more sly, quick, softer, and just more rock and roll then hard rock. And when I say rock and roll I mean older rock.

  • I see we can't agree somewhen...different opinions.

  • Eh I suppose so. Though if you could list some songs in which bon has a harder rock sound than brian Ill look into it. And please dont get me wrong from this discussion, I like both singers equally and think both have their strong points and weak points. And like I said Powerage is my favorite AC/DC album.

  • Yes but you don't take me wrong too, I love Brian, I think AC/DC couldn't find a better singer after Bon's death. If Bon would be still alive and I could choose who I can meet I think I'd take Brian cause I like his personality better than Bon's.

  • I think both had great personalities I just think that with Brian the band most definetly matured and I think it was with that growth that shot them up with back in black. All the band members have said after bon died they matured as players and I think thats what gave them that stronger sound. Hopefully Black Ice has the same edge as Back in Black.

  • I think there will never be the same success like Back In Black. It was the 2nd most sold album ever! So it is very very difficult to make that. I got my doubts about that. But Rock'n'Roll train is an awesome song.

  • Lol yeah ive been thinking that for awhile. Back in Black is undefeated except for thriller so odds are no, it wont beat back in black but hopefully razors edge and maybe even for those about to rock.

something i prefer about the bon age, something they really havent been able to replicate with Brian, is their intense speed with bon. Highway to hell with walk all over you and touch too much are incredible songs with so much talent and speed. Not to say brian's sound doesn't sound talented(con

  • I just think with speed Bon blows Brian away.

  • Some songs yes but I think Brian got fast songs too, especially from 'Flick Of The Switch'.

    E.g. Landslide, Brain Shake

  • The fly on the wall and flick of the switch eras everyone thinks they were bad, me personally i liked both albums. Fly on the wall had a great sound throughout same for flick of the switch. Though I think they could've put some more effort into the songs but thats about it.

Blow up your video was good, razors edge they had a come back with excellence, ball breaker I would have to say is a good album but in my opinion their worst.

  • In my opinion 'Blow Up Your Video' was the worst. But as you I like the FOTS and the FOTW

    albums really.

  • Stiff Upper Lip I thought was decent but lol honestly I dont want to see that kind of album from them ever again. Brian said it was the most fun he ever had making an album but eh I like their blues songs but an entire album dedicated to the genre is just not AC/DC in my opinion. Using it on albums like Ride on for dirty deeds and I suppose night prowler would be blues as well for highway to hell is good but an entire album just gets boring I think at times.

Black Ice I hope they recapture(co

  • the sound they had from the beginning, High Voltage- Razors Edge.

Powerage I guess could be thought of as a blues album but mixed with hard rock most definetly. And I think if they had to do a blues album I wish it could've been done with Bon. Simply because his voice is more slyer, softer but darker as well. More fitting to a blues sound.

  • I think Bon scott sounds a hell of a lot better then brian johnson, no offense to brian, but the music was so much better. I agree with you. And its a god thing Angus isnt dead, that would be the worst. ACDC rocks, ive been a fann for years and i cant get enough. I cant wait to see bonn scott in concert, Once i build that time machine...

  • lol!

  • they were produced different after "let there be rock"....mutt lange produced their albums,,,replacing george young....they used to record live with george....mutt came on with Highway 2 hell....to say brian sounded/sounds harder is incorrect...you think "shot down in flames" isn't hard enough...there will always be 2 sides of the bon/brian fence?...truth is they've gone downhill since bon passed...

  • Well funny how you say that considering their record sales went up how much since Brian joined? And also to name a few shoot to thrill, have a drink on me, fly on the wall, shake a leg, shall i continue?

Scott had speed, higher voice tone, and more variety in his songs. Johnson has a deeper, harder, stronger voice unlike Scott's.

But as I have said in the past I like both equally for what they have contributed to the band.

  • not sure it's funny, but it's true...

if you see how they ascended through their albums to create their sound. they peaked with bon.

back in black, great!..for those about to rock too,,flick of the switch was solid...but then what??? maybe a couple scattered songs.

you can continue Brian's case,,,but for classic Brian AC/DC songs,, you'll be referring to albums made almost thirty years ago...and they don't begin to add up to Bon's resume with the band.

    album sales are irrelavent

  • i agree its not just about whos the best singer who wrote the songs while bon was in the band that is what they miss and im 100%he wrote back in black before he died

  • Brian Johnson sounds like fuckin' Donald Duck half the time. Bon Scott was not only a better all around singer, but he was a much better song writer. His songs always told a story, not just repeat the chorus over and over.

  • Brian is an amazing singer. Listen to his live versions of Have A Drink On Me and High Voltage.

And you're thinking of Ang and Mal's writing on the last three albums. Listen to BIB and FTATR, FOTS, FOTW, or BUYV. The lyrics are just as smart as Bon's.

  • will we see another ACDC like band in the future? I think not...sadly! ACDC FOREVER

  • You're probably right.

  • Airbourne. Check them out, they're Aussies also.

  • They are one in a million

  • imposible

  • Giant, awsome, HUGE!!!! I can even state that AC/DC is my family!!! I fully respect Bryan Johnson, but Bonnie the scott was the biggest one!!!

  • It's very difficult^^

  • I think Bon Scott is the greatest rock vocalist ever. Perfectly matched for the band he played with.

One of AC/DC's finest moments, this song reminds me of the Stones. Keith Richards said this album is what really made him get into the band.
