  • Totally out of Sink>>> the f'n voice

  • God Danny Jo was so hot. I learned to respect his voice before ever seeing the video. That southern rock will get you every time. Jacksonville rocks!!

  • @JazOlly Named after the famous female serial killer (and pro-prohibitionist) of the 17th century "Hatchet Molly"

  • Of course there's a Lynyrd Skynyrd connection, Ronnie was down to produce their future sounds, 'til the crash. As a UK NWBHM freak i shouldn't like it, but, i been riding Harley D since 1981, so, Bring It On!!!!!!

  • Did he mess up the lyrics up at :57. He says I'm travelin down the road and y'all know what I mean rather than flirtin' with disaster.

  • un grand moment de rock sudiste

  • up the irons

  • fuck commercials

  • I never get tired of listening to Molly or Blackfoot! They don't make rock like this anymore. Sad.

  • He was always sexy!

  • Yeah DJB looks way different. What a band!

Anyone happen to have a vid of Chain Lightning ?

  • The singer here just doesn't look like DJB. Maybe its the no moustache look.

  • @twostrokeornill1 He looks way better without it it IMO

  • Can't get enough of these guys!!!

  • @VenomousGamedits2 HELL YEAH DUDE!!! MOLLY HATCHET ROCKS!!!! GREAT SOUTHERN ROCK BAND!!!

  • Molly Hatchet Rocks!!! This is great CLASSIC ROCK!!!

  • Love Hatchet!!!

  • Epic song...

  • Just saw these guys at the 4th of July Celebration - they still rock.

  • @Kokopilau77 No kidding? So Molly Hatchet is still touring. That's cool man!! These guys kick serious ass!!!

Thanks for the info man!!! That is so fucking cool!!!

  • @1962drob - I think they've backed off on the tours, performing at some events. They were probably at this one as it was a neighboring county to Jacksonville.

  • Saw Blackfoot and the DJB Band around '81. Both bands rocked it. Hatchett is not Hatchett anymore from the videos I have seen. I don't care if the vocalist is a great guy and was hand picked by Danny Joe. His voice was so distinctive and fit the music so well. Thanks to the original band for creating some great memories.

  • For those of you who like REAL rock, THIS is how it's DONE!!!

  • Great tune.

  • LOVE Danny Joe Brown's voice!

  • Cant find another version from the 80ies on utube...

Seems more energetic to me than the 79 version.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh Danny Joe Brown. Can't have Hatchet any other way.

  • Excellent stuff. I agree about Blackfoot- the best rock gig I have ever been to. Suggest you also try Black Stone Cherry, if you are still listening (although from Kentucky)

  • Awesome band,awesome song..What's funny though,he's lip sinking..

  • @blitznk9 no he isnt its just the technology from 1983 isnt as good as now

  • @blitznk9 No, he isn't. This is a re-record from VHS. It has a 1 second delay. It looks goofy, but trust me, it's no lip-sync.

  • @17br549 Thanks for clearing that up..I've seen them before great band..I wish they would tour again..

  • Err. The song is FREAKING awesome. But the dudes playing are about as average as 'the'.

  • Love it!

  • This is one song that NEVER gets old!!! Anything new, such as Justin Beiber or Lady Gaga IS a disaster!!!

    MOLLY HATCHET ROCKS!!!

  • @1962drob you hit the nail on the head my friend

  • @bjbuschman2 Right On Man!!! This is Classic Southern Rock!!! Wish there were new bands like this today!

This is Good Time Southern Rock!!!

  • HEY!!!! Its Eddie and the Cruisers

  • mad lip sing..

  • 29 people think justin beiber can flirt with disaster

  • @gassolean lol, those 29 people are right. Justin Beiber does flirt with disaster.

THIS IS REAL MUSIC, NO BULLSHIT!!! JUST GUITAR, BASS, DRUMS, VOCALS, WHICH MAKES FOR A FORMULA OF KICK-ASS ROCK AND ROLL!!!

  • The singer looks like Glenn Danzig ^^

  • @Schnoibdrach And a lot like Iron Maiden's Paul Di'Anno

  • My first concert was Molly Hatchet...I was 17. The warm up band was 38 special

  • man i am kinda disapointed i thought that the singer would have a big beard and have a cowboy hat on..... well i was wrong

  • nice lip scync ???

  • HEY, THESE GUYS ARE MY CHANNEL FRIENDS! Gotta love Molly Hatchet. Real southern rock. The ONLY other band with a real and original southern rock sound is Drivin N Cryin. Honeysuckle Blue is a southern anthem.Like ol Lewis Grizzard said, I'm American by birth.....SOUTHERN BY THE GRACE OF GOD.AMEN. Cantcha just tell I'm old school, AND A LOVER OF REAL MUSIC!!!!

  • @kevingthompson13 Right On Kevin!

  • One of the BEST YOUTUBE Videos ever made ... Danny Joe Brown's face is streaming in sweat ... COOL as HELL ...

  • Seriously what was in the water back in Jacksonville- Molly Hatchet , Skynyrd , Allman Brothers & 38 Special

  • Do ya think Danny got a little extra back then ? I`m a man & if Stevie Nicks gave me that smile I would have been putty in her hotel room .

  • Best guitar solo...top drawer.

  • rock band. nascar 98'

  • @darkness12345678 i thought it was nascar 97' but heck its been so long since i played the game ha ha

  • That man is sweating!!!!!! I wonder when the last time any pop artist from today sweat that much singing!

  • @m1j3 why oh why must you mention pop music?

  • @m1j3 I wonder if some of the sweating had to do with his health issues. Here, he would have been 13 years into his battle with diabetes.

  • this song makes my computer to need amplifier

  • I've got the Monkees songs, I know Charlie Daniels(cousin), I've seen Boston since '79, Danny Joe Brown says it all, God bless him R.I.P. A pause for the cause., Please support diabetes research. We can't lose any more talent like this. SuperGrit CowBoy Band should agree as well as Grinderswitch & Marshall Tucker-JW P.S. FUCK Justin Bieber, Damn Canuck, Alex Trebec too, but Randy Bachman will be OK as long as he doesn't slander America. Damn, even David Bowie stood with us after 9/11 Stand Up !

  • its really sad that this video along with most other great classic songs has less views by 20 times than lady gaga and bieber vids

  • I ain't listened to any Molly Hatchet for years, I got a couple of their abums back in 79 early 80's. I thought I would check them out on here. I'm pretty pissed to find out DJB is dead. God bless you man!!

  • sure beats Justin Bieber

  • @00RSZEX

These guys got nothing on Bieber. Bieber would blow them off stage.

  • Hey your forgetting another great band from Jacksonville "BLACKFOOT"

  • This band was always so under rated by everyone . This IS what rock is supposed to be about !!!

  • @temorox No one ever under rated Molly Hatchet. This band was huge. They still are.

  • @temorox HELL YEAH!!! This is real music, not the so-called rock bands of today. They don't know how to really rock, not like Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, or other great bands of the '70's and '80's.

THIS IS WHAT ROCK IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT!!! I AGREE 100%!!!

  • @temorox Man you are so freaking right!!!!!!!

  • @temorox You Are SO Right Man!!! THIS IS REAL ROCK!!! Not the crap kids listen to today. Like, let's see, Justin Beiber (WTF!?). That ain't music.

BUT YOU CAN BET YOUR SWEET ASS THAT MOLLY HATCHET IS REAL MUSIC!!!

    ROCK ON BRO!!!

  • @temorox Right freaking on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @temorox southern rock imo because too many southern rock bands are border line country not rock

    DDAWASHEMAN?ATALIEHOLLOWAYARUBA

  • Freaking AWESOME band.....YEs

  • Southern Rock has always been the greatest music. Don't know what people are playing today.

  • 28 people don't like real music...... sad.......

  • this video is faked

  • @ronnie0392 no, you bonehead, the audio is just out of sync with the video

  • @funkymoneylove Just out of sync, speed of sound is faster than speed of light, that's what makes it so hot!

  • Gorram, it looks like these boys sure been pumped with a lot of them McDonalds' steroids! Yeee Hawww!

  • Good old boys--and good old Danny Joe Brown. God bless ya.

  • This band was pretty kick ass. Danny looks like a tough dude. He was the perfect singer for this band

  • Always loved this song!

  • hey assholes of today this is how its done,so rap,and techno this where the sun dont shine, cause you no talents of today couldnt stand in this class of music and is music shadow.on anyday of the year,we will never hear or be privilige to this gold again

  • @knight1768 This song only a certain few can relate pertaining to throwing caution to the wind. This group/song performed with ALOT of HEART!!! Myself emmigrating to AZ from NY in 1996 on a 1991 FXLRC paid off and still rollin'.Job(s) situation drying up in NY my reason for stretching my legs to AZ.H-D Evolution engines/frames still rule.FTW.

  • AUDIO IS OUT OF SYNC,cool to danny kick it

  • he kinda looks like a moviestar,,,

  • my audio is screwy

  • God when Danny Joe Brown sings this live he sounds like Phil McCormack unlike the studio version where he does it in a more cleaner less gruff voice.

  • I partied with danny Joe Brown and dave luhbeck on more than one occassion in Columbus Ohio in the early 80's. They played a nightclub i worked at,and one of our employees was a man named Wild robert West who played bass for a band named Rosie. he was from Florida and Knew Molly Hatchet and introduced me. I rode with dav and Danny Joe toe another bar and the rest of the band showed up all except Bruce Crump the drummer.. Soon as we walked in the bar Danny bought us 2 shots of wild Turkey.

  • thanks for having allowed me to know how this great band sounds like

  • 3:42 best part of the song ever

  • I wonder if the bass player intentionally made himself look like Jaco.

  • @sirnotesy HOW!?? and BOOOO!

  • Comment removed

  • @unklesam81 Doesn't quite move like him, true, but hand him a fretless bass, and remove his shoes, they could be twins. Probably the long stringy black hair, and headband sets it off. Boo? no. Jaco was a genius. Just unfortunate he was bipolar, too.

  • Danny is an persperational leader.

  • I am so stuck permanently in the 70's/80's rock era-the shit!!

  • @Kitten1957 Amen Kitten, AMEN!!!

  • Singer died in 2005

  • Comment removed

  • didn't expect the singer to look like that

  • @thefoppa1000 Me either!! I always thought it was Louis Armstrong on lead! Ha J/k

  • Comment removed

  • @vatobravo you mean the black jazz singer?

  • Comment removed

  • @thefoppa1000 yeah that guy but i was only kidding. When you listen to the studio version he could maybe be mistaken for armstrong

  • The 'CROSSROADS' band from St Pete Florida will be playing the same place in Pensacola Florida with Molly Hatchet this weekend Oct. 2nd 8-11pm. Got to love Molly Hatchet so many great songs!

  • One Of The Greatest Hunting Jams EVER!! Just Epic

  • saw them twice back in 70's ......and ive seen some killer concerts in my day .seen them all........but I tell ya .....each time I left molly concerts ......seemed I alway left with a whipped ass........thats rock and roll! theres was no better .....

  • This is from a Brit....so guess you gotta take it with a pinch of salt haha Bought their very first album when it came out (I'm now 53) and thought it was the dogs gonads. No other FL band ever did it for me like Molly Hatchet. RIP DJB. This was the best line up for me. Most lead singers try to keep the spot light for themselves, but not DJB. Mark of the man. Quality!

  • @chrisderrick57 Cheers English - I'm 43 and recall the band well.

They had that Southern Rock boogie with roaring guitars.

    Great stuff.

And without you Brits - A LOT of Yanks like myself would never had most of favorite bands - BLACK SABBATH - LED ZEPPELIN - MOTORHEAD - and of course THE BEATLES began it all.

Worth much more than a pinch to me

  • @PRETALIATION Thanks Pretaliation, and for your comment on the other DJB song that I'd left a mention on. It's nice to know that sometimes the comments that are left are well received. I've had a fair few of the other kind over the years hahaha. Cheers.........

  • @chrisderrick57 Cheers Chris - Without British Rock - well One cannot even imagine the 70's Hard Rock sound without UK acts.

We WORSHIPED the bands and I'm always happy to hear from a 'Cousin' across the pond.

    ROCK MUSIC KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES

But I hear ya' on the negative comments - Always a few morons with too much time on their hands.

    F*CK 'EM - HAH HAH

    Cheers

  • @PRETALIATION Yep...you got that sooo right. I think we've got this world sussed buddy. Haha. If only it was that easy! Keep in touch touch bro. As you say, sc*ew 'em all - too much time, too many shit*y comments that are easy to make. Rock On.

    Cheers.

  • one of the best road trip songs ever.

  • badass

  • Brings back memories....great stuff!!

  • this is the song that makes ya wanna bounce

  • Before they were Molly Hatchet, many of the musicians were in a band called Rum Creek. Anyone remember them???

  • Hey, its Peter Criss the ex-memeber of KISS playing drums here. Peter is awesome!!!

  • @char675 no its not-KISS my ass

  • @char675 No - it's former Mother's Finest drummer Billy ("BB") Borden on drums. He only did Hatchet's '83 album and tour. He was with the Marshall Tucker Band the last I knew.
