NO NO NO - never reuse an air filter. Throw it away and buy a new one. It is terrible advice to try cleaning them with compressed air. Typical misinformation and inaccurate information from expertvillage. They have flooded youtube to make money with incomplete videos.
o.o lol that suck so did u manage to remove the rest of the bolts? so i guess u replace the whole housing? hmm i wonder y dont they just make it easier to use snap on then screw in type.
2003 honda civics have bolts to unfasten the filter cover. Be sure to unscrew them often or grease those bolts. If the bolts rust they bind with the metal studs and then the studs twist within the plastic and damage the plastic. Now the bolts do not unscrew. I have to figure out how to get them out. 4 of the 7 bolts rusted up.
u can get a lube spray called PB blaster and it works great on rusted bolts and etc... u can get it at any local store even wal-mart has them. hope it work out for u
I've heard of PB Blaster before. But I found out that the air filter screw method is a design flaw. It's very easy for a mechanic to overtighten the air filter screws causing them to bind with the nuts. So when I go and untighten the bolts it breaks the plastic housing. P.S. Majetic Autoparts is an online certified Honda Autoparts place with really good prices. My local Honda place matched their prices.
