  • If i remember correctly YHVH is a "Avatar" of god (AKA: The great will) he represents the intents of it and the plans it has. Like kagasuchi in Nocturne.

  • DUDE. How did you get both Satan AND Lucifer in your party?! WTF, is this a hack or is there an actual way to do it?

  • @KevinTheDuke22 Cheated. It is fitting for a Neutral MC, though. Cheated so the next fusion result was Satan, and then did the same for Lucifer. That way, a neutral MC can have both.

  • hmmmm, I'm wondering if Atheists like this game because you can bash god?

  • @slyther2 Yes, we do.

  • @natzo89 Yeah, it's a pretty good way to take out your frustrations

    because, you know

    if you can kill "god"

    it isn't god

  • @slyther2 nah.......actually.......you can bash the devil too. i don't really care, either way.

  • @slyther2 My friend that showed me this game was Christian, we both like it very much... We're just open-minded and understand this is just fiction. Hell, it's just a video-game, I'm not going for eternal punishment for playing something that I BELIEVE it's not real.

  • christian

  • I'm cgristian and I luv this game

  • The only way anyone would be offended by YHVH being evil is anyone who's using special pleading for their god. It would be no different if a Hindu was offended by Shiva being in this game. As an atheist, I hold all of your gods in equal regard because they are all equally false. I love SMT because I know it's just a game and all of the characters/demons etc all are fictional. :)

  • Jio? Isn't it "Zio"?

  • The will of the universe will create you? I thought you were supposed to be the will of the universe?

Did they spark note religion AND mythology for this game?

  • Does anyone know if the older games are worth playing?

  • Now you can officially say" I kicked God's ass"

  • ... Ok, i think i have to stop beliveing in the bible :/

  • Oh my god, a floating head... RUUUUN.

  • i cant play this right now way too old

  • What ARE you doing? Repent for your sins and YHVH's punishment won't fall on deaf ears!

  • I FIGURED OUT WHY! YHWH was LAW aligned, and so was my DOMINION!

  • Divine Intervention didn't work when i fought him.... if i remeber correctly, my party was Satan, Dominon, Parvati.... and one other demon that kept dyning....

  • Jean Lu Picard was always the better captain.

There's a reason he looks like this final boss.

  • JESUS CHRIST IT'S THE GIANT FLOATING HEAD OF PATRICK STUART GET IN THE CAR.

  • What does shinrei means?

  • @bleachfan32ser Godly Spirit. It's pretty much only used to describe facets of YHVH.

That and two bosses in Soul Hackers, but that's a whole different continuity.

  • ...Ok, who used Fabuloso instead of Mr.Clean's products!?

  • @DisasterXillus

    godamn it Aleph XD

  • Comment removed

  • oh god the faces he makes, lol.

i'm going to be tortured like my childrens childrens childrens children for laughing at YHVA am i

  • The face he makes at 1:04 makes me laugh for some reason.

  • Okay I love SMT and all but

That is a pretty lame design for what is meant to be the supposed mightiest of all Gods.

  • To be fair, he gets about 5 other incarnations with several levels of weirdness. And then there is the whole "made on his image" bit.

  • If that's God's image then I guess Patrick Stewart is the absolute pinnacle of creation.

  • Actually, he is...

  • @frankenvonvogler He's not the mightiest. The "Great Will" is. YHVH is one of several Gods composed by the "Great Will". Aleph really did kill YHVH in SMT2.

  • @MagatsutheCalamity Assuming YHVH didn't come back and sentence Aleph to turn into Hijiri...

  • @shadowthespikythingy Hijiri's secret story at the end of the fourth kalpa shows the Great Will throwing him back into the infant world of Nocturne to watch it's progression.

  • @MagatsutheCalamity No, it specifically says he was sent to "a new land of suffering" after his death, not the same infant world as he'd already recorded. Also, the emphasis on his "unforgivable sin" in that scene suggests Aleph's "ultimate sin" of killing God more than anything else.

  • @shadowthespikythingy /facepalm. I'm talking about the re-cap explanation given by the Lady in Black, not what happened to him after he was killed in the infant world.

    Get your facts straight.

  • @MagatsutheCalamity ...Get your own facts straight. I not only was on about the Lady in Black's explanation, I _specifically_ quoted, _word_ _for_ _word_, that she said Hijiri was sent to "a new land of suffering" - NOT the beginning of the Vortex World. If you actually read my post, I think you'll also find that I never even _mentioned_ Hijiri's death scene, even though I was thinking of doing so when I read the post.

  • @shadowthespikythingy Then that's your fault... your going on about something I made no mention of and had nothing to do with what I said. -_-;

  • @MagatsutheCalamity I think we got onto the tangent with Hijiri because it was YHVH, not the Great Will, who sentenced Aleph to eternal horrible tortures, and all evidence suggests that if Hijiri is anyone from canon he's Aleph. I was postulating that if Hijiri is Aleph, that implies YHVH is the Great Will as there's no reason for the Great Will to hate anyone for merely defeating a ridiculously powerful demon - which is all YHVH really is by MegaTen terminology if he isn't the Great Will.

  • @shadowthespikythingy .......Wow, you don't understand ANYTHING. The "Great Will" was something YHVH was a part of. It was one of the MANY life lines of the Great Will. The Great Will punished Aleph for killing him because YHVH wanted that. YHVH was not only speaking for himself but the Great Will as well. They SHARE the sentiment because YHVH is a part of a greater entity who desires Aleph's damnation.

  • @MagatsutheCalamity As far as I can tell, you are now simply making things up - I'd like to see some evidence to support your assertion that YHVH is not the exact same being as the Great Will, given the curse to Aleph was "_I_ shall smite thee, and in Hell _I_ shall torture thee over and over! After an aeon _I_ shall resurrect thee..." - making no reference to any being but YHVH himself who was going to carry it out.

  • @shadowthespikythingy Are you stupid? Wait, that was rhetorical, don't answer that.

Anyway! "The WILL OF THE UNIVERSE will resurrect me over and over and over" etc.

OBVIOUSLY it meant the Great Will referenced in Nocturne.

  • @frankenvonvogler stupid right make fun of god

  • @frankenvonvogler well, considering he supposedly appeared as a giant hand writing stuff in the sky to his follower's once, I bet he looks like a human considering he made "men in his image". So yeah he's so humongous, only his head managed to fit into the MC's view screen.

  • @frankenvonvogler Hey man, Play this and deal with the 16 bit, or play Superman 64 and have 64 bit.... And die. Cause that shit is like The Ring.

  • New Attila retaliates for you in the reality by all means.

    Western civilization is ruined soon.

  • Why the hell is that info bar jumping all over the place?

  • @NHavocJ Possibly emulation issues, interfering with the huge head sprite. I think it happens in a couple other fights.

  • Well, according to infoseeker, Lucifer has 8553 HP and YHVH has 17079.

...I don't know if those numbers change depending on your alignment, but I guess those are from the Neutral path; witch means they're pretty much can be considered canon.

  • wow, he really does look like Picard

  • Oh goodness this is the worst final boss music ever

DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN

  • So Lucifer is THAT much harder to beat than YHVH? D:

  • Satan has 12500 HP,

    YHVH has 17080 HP and

    Lucifer has 65535 HP.

  • Comment removed

  • I made a mistake Lucifer has 8386 HP. on neutral, on chaos he has 65535.

  • If this were anything like that Wonder Showzen episode, you could just have a rock-paper-scissors match against God. Then, when he loses, he shoots himself. That was a funny episode.

  • God went from blue raspberry to lemon flavored?

  • I always KNEW Mister Clean was evil!

  • His lemony freshness will destroy us all!

  • No, wait, that's not lemon, God's Chinese! *Gasp*

  • No, God is really... a Simpson! XD

  • D'oh!

  • ok i've watched all of the smt 2 videos (well most, anyway), they are much more hardcore than the new megaten games...

  • I wish I knew how to download roms and crap. I have only played the NA releases. I am not holy-er than thou though. If I knew how to obtain all the old games though, I would

  • Fuck yeah, God killing games.

  • Let it be said the only way to enjoy many of the Megaten games, is if you are able to expand your views beyond what many people have.

  • This battle took me forever. I was stupid and didn't had Anubis with me. And my stats sucked hard. So the battle took me allmost a hour.

Kids, don't try this at home...

  • How... pretentious.

  • At best, in fact, I find it's symbolic.

  • It's not bloody 'taboo' for a Japanese company to put god (or YHWH, or YHVH, or YHWA, or whatever) in a video game, even as a villain. It's controversial, but it's a design choice.

Get yourselves over it. It is a GAME.

    -Sincerely, an unconcerned agnosticist

And THAT is to quell the whining (MunichBW, heh) before it comes.

  • I never knew that Jehovah looked like a bald Mr. Spock. Only in Japan I suppose.

  • Err I meant Lucifer. Sorry. What fusion did you use to get him?

  • I cheated. I could get neither Lucifer nor Satan in the Neutral one. I COULD have acquired Satan in the Law and Lucifer in the Chaos paths, though.

  • Wow, how did you get Satan and Shiva on your team? Does he join even in the Law version?

  • Yes, as he joins Aleph and judges YHVH.

  • Could you please tell me if Cerberus is worth fusing in order to get a Ryujinn demon so I can create Anubis by fusing the Ryujinn demon with a Yousei? Thanks in advance.

  • IIRC, Anubis has the innate "Divine Intervention" skill, which makes him instantly worth it.

  • Thanks. Also, by any chance do you know what two demon types result in a Yousei type demon?

  • "oh my god, its god!" he looks like a genie...or captian picard...or mr. clean...or that yellow bastard...or some other random pop culture refernece.

  • Now that you mention it, he does look a bit like the Yellow Bastard.

  • The faces are a little creepy, but I must say it IS pretty cool.

  • Again, this music! Come on, SMT, you can do better than this. This music is about the opposite of tense and dramatic. I especially hate the plodding "dum-dum, dum-dum" part.

  • I know. It makes you think that you're fighting aliens, not demons. XP I liked the boss theme from SMT 1 a LOT better and the normal battle them of this one is good too.

No surprise why we had to wait a lot for both games to come for the PS1 and GBA, with all the deep controversial issues therein.

  • Oh, so this is the -true- YHVH mentioned in your last post with the same title, eh?

  • Yes. Notice his unique skill, among all the other SMT enemies, of making FACES.
