Did you learn your graph making skills from Al Gore? Half of the graphs didn't start from zero and therefor stretched out the 1-3 fps difference to the whole width of the screen even tough it was really a minimal relative difference.

@klaca95 model and brand of the psu? these matter...what's the 12v total AMPS? total wattage of the 12v rail. Now compare it to the video card's recommended amps and wattage requirements.

ex: my NZXT 1k watt psu will easily support 2x galaxy gtx 580 xtreme accelero plus hsf edition vid cards in sli with more than 15 amps to spare. gtx 580 CAN use around 30 to 40 amps.cheers

@henoynoyoe first of all dont get a i5 2500 or i7 2600, get the "k" model meaning you can overclock because trust me it will be a big thing later on (so future proofing) if you can afford it get the intel i7 2600k with a gtx 580 (the gb is only really used on multiple screens so if you are going to be using 1 screen then 1gb is enough) there is a EVGA geForce superclocked 580 1.5gb for £373. so an intel i7 2600k and a gtx 580 is an amazing setupinbox me your skype name?

@EliasOnePower If you want to watch 3D then yes you will always need 3D glasses for stereoscopic 3D. if you dont want to play games with 3D you do not need glasses. To sum it up its a powerful graphics card... that has the ability for 3D not mandatory though. But if your not using this card for 3D then i dont suggest you spend the money on it its not worth it. hope you could understand.. :p

...but what we'd like to see is a better relationship/support between consoles and PCs. We need more games like Portal 2 and possibly Battlefield 3 that take full advantage of the console but also use the experience of developing for the console to better the PC gaming experience by ironing out all of the bugs throughout the console development cycle. And of course, there's always room for PC exclusives for when the technological gap is widened too far away from consoles.

Here's an interesting issue. Next-gen 2012/2013 video game consoles will have a chance to put a hurting on Enthusiast PCs as a result of only having to support 720P and 1080P resolutions. Because of this, the DX 11 console GPUs can display all the enhaced effects expected of the new software while not experiencing bogged down frame rates due to extreme resolutions. 1080P should be more than enough of a resolution for Direct X 11 and 12 and whatever Open GL graphics formats come our way.

The only reason why I'd rather the GTX 590 is the drivers. The AMD drivers are just horrible. Take for example the new catalyst control center 11.7 drivers are just horrible.

@chrissep yup I've had two 6950's for 3 months and every driver update is such an ordeal I want to rip my hair out. The 11.8's actually wouldn't work no matter what I did. When I tried to apply the overclock i had with 11.7 i always got BSOD. I'm finished with AMD I sold my cards on ebay for a loss and now I'm looking for a 590 or perhaps just a single 580. Enough is enough...never seen so many BSODS in my life.
