  • @Buck762 I have one, TA01nsn with the mount and a doctor rds mounted above. It's not really that bad, but then again, it is only for back up use. You do kinda have to sit your chin on the stock to see well tho.

  • @3mealsaday Cheek weld becomes chin weld, that is why I don't intend on putting the RMR on this ACOG. If you can get use to it, more power to you!

  • They definitely didn't stop putting the scriptures on the acogs. I have a TA31f from 2002. (of course that one has it) but I also have a 2011 TA01nsn that has it as well. Except it's not in the normal area. It's on the left side along with my serial and warning junk. I believe they quit putting the scripture on the ones they sell to the military.

  • cool thanx for the info in the mean time I'll search for a good SKS

  • COOL I HOPE ILLINOIS BECOMES LESS STRICT CANT BUY AKS OR ARS IN COOK &NO CCW ONLY STATE MAYBE ONE DAY

  • @77MRVIC You can buy some ARs in Cook county, go to Cabelas in Hoffman Estates, they have ARs there. I do believe Illinois will get CCW soon, maybe by the end of this year. Both the State Senate and House have passed the bill, they need 7 more votes to override Quinn's veto and we'll have it as law.

  • WAS THAT CHICAGO IN PIN BOARD?

  • @77MRVIC Yes.

  • Outstanding and informative. Well done.

  • @pamemake Thanks.

  • Does your eye line up well with the scope mounted that high? Thinking about getting an acog for my fixed carry handle but worry the cheek weld is too low with my 6 pos. stock. Do your iron sights still work effectivly enough to use for quick close range engagments?

  • @Buck762 The line of sight through the ACOG changes the cheek weld a bit for sure. When I shoot I hardly notice and/ or feel a huge difference. With an A2 I really didn't have much of a choice for optics mounting but the ACOG on this setup works just fine. The iron sights work good for CQ, a bit of the tunnel effect but not too obnoxious.

  • @the308capital

Im looking into getting an Acog/RmR combo. With the scope mounted on my A2 carry handle, do you think the red dot will be mounted up too high to effectivly use?

  • @Buck762 It is more suited for a flat top AR mounted ACOG because it will sit very high on top of both an ACOG and carry handle. If you zero it at 25 yds and learn to shoot without getting a full cheek weld then it might work but that would be pushing it. The whole concept behind the carry handle ACOG is to be able to utilize your iron sights for close quarters rather than a top mounted dot sight.

  • One of the best and most informative videos posted on You Tube. Thanks for posting the video. I wathced it twice, have that same exact rifle, and learned a ton. Woot.

  • @ja068056 Thanks.

  • Awesome review. I am reaally considering one of these scopes for my RR Lar-8 mid length. I was considering the 3.5 x35 version for my applications, preferably with the horseshoe reticle. Man, do you think I should just go for it and spoil myself?

  • @Brute4rce ACOGs are great, a bit pricey but worth the money. The ballistic cross-hairs will be off a little bit on a mid-length LAR-8 because the 308 calibrated ACOG was designed for the M240 and M14 with a 24 and 22 inch barrels. Since the mid length LAR-8 only has a 16 inch barrel, the bullet will drop quicker than the range designation in the scope. For 300 yards and in it is perfect for rapid target acquisition being only a 3.5x which is plenty of magnification for out to 600

  • @the308capital Thanks for the info. like you said I won't be shooting anything above 300 yards which is perfect because I want to make my weapon a more close quarters/mid range shooter with rapid target acquisition which I think is really important. Also debating if its worth it to get an RMR on it.

  • @Brute4rce For only firing 300 and in, the RMR would work just fine. Not to mention save a bunch of money. I still like the magnification to allow those precise 300,400 and 500 yard shots, after all the 308 is a great mid-long range round.

  • oyeah he missed a nother point kids the crosshairs are bullshit to

  • Nice.. Thanks man..

    All the way from kuwait

  • @glocklover1000 Thanks for watching.

  • LOL. You keep saying RECTICLE in stead of RETICLE. That's funny. Good vid however.

  • Used trijicon in Afghanistan, the best

  • @Residalz28 You get what you pay for. Trijicon knows what they're doing.

  • Comment removed

  • Super informative. Much appreciated.

  • @JAndersonIV Thanks.

  • there's one for a 7.62x39 too.

  • @Livelifechill The TA 33A-13 3x30mm is the newer 7.62x39. Most Models are .223 or 308 with a few 50BMG and 6.8s.

  • Can I still get one of these with the Bible verse on it? Love it!!

  • @SteelHorseRiders As far as I know the civilian purchased ones still have the verses.

  • The scripture verses were removed because enemys of the United States would be

able to use the fact they're on American rifles as propoganda. A lot of the militant Islamic extremists already think we're fighting a religious war with them, thanks to a lot of Christian rhetoric from conservative politcitions inn the U.S. When word got around of it being printed on there, recruiters for terrorist organizations could point to that as evidence of a religious conflict which is not the case. Not polit

  • Awesome video. Good explaining of the optics operation and function.

  • @Nuggedee Thanks.

  • Removing the scripture pertaining to the separation of church and states and equality among all religions under the secular nation.

  • Oh, and the "liberal dickhead" you mention who called out Trijicon for the scripture marking, was a USAFJAG for 10 years, nominated for JFK's Courage award, and nominated for 3 Nobel Peace Prizes. Several Christian advocacy groups and foreign governments' defense depts complained about having scripture on rifle scopes as well. And Trijicon voluntarily removed the marking.

You're really out in the stratosphere man. Get your info right before you get up on a soapbox throwing stones.

  • @silvermediastudio You're right, I mixed up yards/ meters. Thank you for correcting me, it's been annotated. As for the bible verse, to anyone who didn't know it would appear as a number, colon, number with no meaning. Trijicon didn't hand out bibles with the manuals. As for the liberal dickhead part I stand by my remark. Liberalism in conjuncture with socialism is DESTROYING western civilization and the noble peace prize is a joke, merely a leftist accolade these days, purely political.

  • @the308capital I agree, the Peace Prize isn't what it used to be... and there are extremist left (and right) wing forces destroying our country, and western civilization. Unfortunately, there are too many people in too high of places whom we simply cannot trust to make ethical decisions that benefit the central majority for the long term.

  • @silvermediastudio We are all screwed either way. True democracy leads to mob rule in the end and representative democracy creates an elected oligarchy that becomes entrapped in its own self-fulfilling bubble at our expense. Nothing will ever be perfect unfortunately. But I'd rather live here in the US will all of its problems than anywhere else.

  • I'm pretty sure the ACOG is calibrated for meters, not yards. Basically anything beyond 100 yards in military applications will be measured in meters (or miles).

  • @silvermediastudio Should really take down this video, with such poor information. I mean, at 300 meters, you're going to be off by 25 yards on your range. Considering you spent $1000+ it's a shame you don't know more about it's specifics.

  • @silvermediastudio Dude who gives a shit. Erin knows his stuff pretty well. As for being 25 meters off the bullet would still hit and have good effect on target

  • @garrisohsheehan 25 meters off and still have good effect on target? What are you shooting at, a 100K water bag? haha Go back to video games, son.

  • Awesome vid. I've been getting a lot of mixed reviews on different ar kits...do you have one that you would recommend quality before price?

  • @FishinBoat119 Rock River IMO makes the best AR for the money. Armalite, S&W, Colt and Ruger are good too. I'm not a fan of Bushmaster, DPMS and Stag. I also don't see the need to have a high priced H&K, LWRC, POF, Les Baer or any of the specialty ARs, for that price I'd rather get a SCAR 16. I don't think the AR platform is worth $2000+, just my opinion.

  • O yeah talkin about Just Cause in Panama!!!! Viva Panama.

    hahahahah!!!!

    Greetings From Panama

  • Oh and good video dude.

  • @Kekkon3n Thanks.

  • Btw the Finnish Defence Forces uses an Acog (4x zoom) on a 7.62x39 Sako Rk95. It has a red circle in the middle and a notch at 300m if I remember correctly.

  • Thanks great vid very helpful wish I could afford one myself.

  • I have the same gun. I saw you had a bipod on your gun, what kind of rail are you using I want to pick one up myself. Thanks

  • @echo9airsoft There aren't any rails on this rifle, everything is A2 stock. The bipod is a Harris with the AR-15 A2 hand guard adapter.

  • Very useful video.

  • @h0troddude Thanks.

  • great illustrations. really in depth

  • nice vid. picking up my lmt .308 next week. next up is the triji-acog 6x48 in a green cheveron. done and done.

  • @Balisong005 That's pretty much the British L129a1 config.

  • thanks for the video, until now i didn't know how the acog was used

  • @clarencemiller3 Now you know. Thanks for watching.

  • Thank you for educating these dumb cod fucks....that made my day

  • fuuuuuck.!! here in México we can´t buy weapons : (

  • isn't that model specific for a 20" barrel? just curious.

  • @MrRustytrombone Yes, the one I have is specific to the 20". They make both an M16a2/a4 (20") and M4a1 (14.5") ballistic ACOG.

  • The bible verse on my acog make me shoot better. It would be a jesus scope without it.

  • @MrRustytrombone Haha, nice.

  • thank you sir for hating call of duty. I'm a gamer and it made me happy to hear you say bullshit and call of duty in the same sentence. That game sucks balls. You've got a nice setup.

  • @MrRustytrombone Thanks. The COD fanboys have ruined alot of gun videos with their "expertise" in the field of firearms simply by playing a game; a game that is VERY inaccurate when it comes to firearms, optics and ballistics.

  • very good info dude thank you

  • @marcosshadow Thanks for watching.

  • Very informative video!!! I actually learned a few things! Keep up the good work my friend!

  • @IIIIIGunzIIIII Thanks, I'm always glad to see people learning new things.

  • @the308capital I love learning everything I can about firearms! Im ahuge fan of our second amendment rights!!! And I own a AR 15 myself, Ive been saving to buy a trijicon scope as they are VERY expensive lol,

  • Great vid! Sold me, i have the same rifle. Thank your brother for serving please.

  • @jandjstack I will relay the message, thanks for watching.

  • That's cool it had bible versus I didn't know that and ya stupid ass atheist people always bitching about stuff for attention

  • When I'm shooting Civilians, I like to aim a little high !!

  • use the other hole when running a fixed stock., makes eye relief much better these ta01 dont have much eye relief..,

  • @MultiSr16 Thanks, I did move it back after this video was made.

  • @the308capital cool., i got the same one., sept its ta01b

  • @MultiSr16 They are sweet optics.

  • lol call of duty is a great game man. i just wish it were more realistic on the gun side of things. im tired of my little cousins talking about COD gun setups, especially when they make no sense.

  • @a10fjet For some reason COD always likes to make the 9mm more powerful than the .45acp.

  • Do the compensation lines work for each caliber you listed? I'm confused because it doesn't make sense to me that it would work for 4 different calibers at the same time. Please explain this to me, I'm really interested in mounting an ACOG like this on my AR-15.

  • @theasset762 Each ACOG scope is caliber specific to ONE type of round. The .223 model only works with a .223/5.56 rifle. So if you have an AR-15 or Mini-14 you'd get the 5.56/.223 bullet drop model. If you have an AR-10/ FAL/ M-14 or a G3 (PTR-91) you'd get the 7.62/.308 bullet drop model. Same goes for 6.8spc and the few people that have a 50 BMG. Check out Trijicon's website for each model.

  • @the308capital Yeah, I see now. The TA01 is the one I want for my rifle. Thanks man.

  • could someone tell me the answer to this

    5.56=.223

    6.8=

    7.62x51=.308

is the 6.8 = .243 i dont know please message me if you know what it is eqaul to thanks

  • @686silverpigeon The 5.56 and 7.62 are the NATO specs. The .223 Remington and .308 Winchester are the US commercial specs. The 6.8 would be about .267 caliber. The 5.56x45mm is not 100% identical to the .223 rem, same with the 7.62x51 and .308 win. The military brass is thicker and the chamber head spaces are slightly different. You can fire .223 out of a 5.56 chamber no problem but NOT the other way around. Firing a 5.56 in a .223 chamber can rupture because of the increased pressure.

  • @the308capital oh ok thanks did you get my other message

  • @686silverpigeon I got your PM. I see you live in the UK. I feel sorry not only for the crap going on in London, but the overall lack of firearms freedom there. Too bad useless politicians took away your right to defend yourself.

  • Great Freggin Video!!! Actually Something On Here Worth Watching!!!!! Thanks!!!!

  • @Gknotowicz Glad you liked it.

  • that is complete bullshit about removing the biblical verses..

  • @xnickbox That's political correctness at its finest.

  • great vid. this taught me a lot

  • @xnickbox Thanks.

  • Great Video BTW!!!

  • @ryangi5 Thanks.

  • Oh my goodness, I just looked up the price. They are $1,100 +. You could buy a Stag model 8 rifle for that price. I don't doubt they are the best sights around, but you DEFINITELY pay for it.

  • @ryangi5 They are built like tanks and that extraordinary durability coupled with a crystal clear reticle = big bucks. There are some in the $800 range, the 1.5 powers I believe but even that ain't cheap.

  • What camera are u using great pic and vid

  • @handgunlover LOL.

  • @handgunlover Thanks for watching.

  • Good video man

  • @PizzaAndFirearms Thanks.

  • Great video up until the liberal dickhead part. I served in Iraq and there are very good reasons why there is no need for the bible verses on these scopes. First, the government has to be very careful not to do anything that would give the jihadis a reason to say we're crusaders. To do otherwise just puts soldiers at more risk. Second (and I can't believe this isn't blatantly obvious), why should a jewish or muslim soldier risking their life for the USA have to carry around something like that?

  • @jdmurray11 For those who are offended, Trijicon will ship a tool to scratch the verse off. I see your point up to the part where a number, colon, and another number has no meaning to most people. It's not like a copy of the Bible comes with the owners manual. I'm not religious and it doesn't bother me. Atheists still handle US currency with "In God We Trust". Christianity is a part of this nation's founding, if it is that offensive then iron sights will have to do. Just my opinion.

  • @the308capital All that being said, this is still the best Trijicon review I've found on the net. You've convinced me I need one of these and it'll be here in two days. Nice work.

  • @jdmurray11 Trijicon makes great stuff. Their Reflex Dot sights are pretty damn good as well (also no batteries required). What model did you get?

  • @the308capital ACOG TA01 with the fully illuminated reticle. Gonna mount it on my 20" A2. i've never had any sort of optic on it and am looking forward to seeing the full potential of my rifle at work. Thanks again for the great review. I'll be checking out the rest of your channel for sure.

  • Great video

  • "so all of you call of duty geeks who go oh my god acog i gota check out that video" fucking priceless

  • @xDIEHARDxUSMCx Thanks. I simply call them as I see them.

  • How much was the hbar new?

  • @rsxtypes06usdm I bought it 10 years ago used. The guy I bought it from only fired a few hundred rounds through it. I paid $1100 for the rifle and 6 magazines back in 2002, the new HBAR would be somewhere in the $1100-1300 range.

  • The "liberal dickhead" is right....Welcome to the United States.

  • Great video. Could have done without the commentary on liberal bull*&$% and the political correctness of having bible verses on optics. If you prefer to have make-believe, man written, sayings on your optics so be it, but I don't want to promote that kind of bs as a taxpayer. That being said, great video.

  • @hauk22 Thanks for watching. Perhaps you missed the part where I said I wasn't religious and the verse didn't bother me, just like In God We Trust on currency. That being said, of all the things I don't like that this government blows my tax money on, believe me, bible verses on optics rate one notch above infinity on the list.

  • One of my friends just bought a TA31 RCO, and I was looking at this afternoon. I'm seriously considering one of these for my A2 HBAR. My only concern is the height of the optic as a result of being mounted on the carry handle. Have you found it to be a little awkward to have an optic that high without an elevated check rest? I would imagine you almost have to have your chin on the comb of the stock.

  • @slt223 Yeah your cheek sits a little higher on the stock but it's not bad. This is the exact way my brother had his ACOG setup on his M16A2 in Iraq and he made hits out to 600 yards no problem. The carry handle mount is IMO better than the picatinny because it sits solid, especially on an A2 rather than an A4 with picatinny carry handle or just flat top mounted. Plus w/ A@ you can still use your irons no problem. I've had no comfort or eye relief issues at all with this setup.

  • That was also the fist rifle I bought for myself. Mine was the R06601C. I too purchased mine was 19. That was now twelve years ago. I still have it, and it still shoots exceptionally well.

  • @slt223 They are great long range AR-15s. The heavy 20inch barrel and 1/7 twist make it stand out from all the typical 1/9 twist ARs. Notice on mine I don't have quad rails, lights, lasers or foregrips. It is all original, A2 buttstock, fixed carry handle, original hand guards, no muzzle brake or flash hider. Just an ACOG, sling and Harris bi pod are all it needs and it is awesome out to 600 yards. It's the only AR-15 that I shoot beyond 200 yards.

  • So if you have a flat top and want an acog, is there a way you can still utilize your iron sights or in my case flip up sights for CQB? I know it's a newbue question but I am very new to this. Is there a mount that you can flip the acog up or off to the side when needed? Thanks :)

  • @Crossfit559 If you have a flat top, yes you can get an ACOG with the flat mount. And NO, you will not be able to use back up irons to co-witness because the post will be out of focus. Since the ACOG uses no batteries there is no reason to need back up irons. If you have a flat top mounted ACOG you'll have to buy and install the Trijicon Docter Red Dot which mounts on top of the ACOG, but is expensive. The carry handle is the cheaper way for both CQC ability and ACOG long range ability.

  • @Crossfit559 There are mounts that flip optics to the side to use irons. La Rue tactical makes a side flip mount, but it is generally used to remove Red Dot (Aim Point/ EOTech) magnifiers. Never heard of someone putting an ACOG on one though.

  • i have a colt hbar with the fixed carry handle too. do you find it awkward having the scope mounted so high over the barrel axis?

  • @captainkaos131313 Not really. That's how it was configured for my brother when he was in Iraq and he said it wasn't a big deal. In reality, with that setup your iron sights are for close quarters <50 yards and the ACOG is for 50 yards+. Your iron sights are always quick to use because they aren't folded backup sights, you just look under the ACOG for close range, and through the ACOG for long range.

  • @the308capital thanks for the feedback.

  • I didn't know about lining up the shoulder width with the cross hairs for a range finder. Thats pretty cool.

  • @mr2man91 That's what makes it so good for a military optic.

  • I like the way you hooked up your scope to your HBAR! I personal want to do something similar. I own a Colt 6940 and like my iron site, but also want to equip it with a trijicon. How do I keep my iron site with a trijicon scope? Also, should I get the one FOR the M4 or should I get any of them for .223/.556 NATO? Y'alls help means alot! Thanks guys! Ohh how about LaRue mounts?

  • @b18bmonster The mount that came with the Trijicon was specific for the carry handle attachment. Check out Trijicans website because I think most of their ACOGs have the option to be mounted above the carry handle. The mount has a bore through it that allows for the use of the iron sights. I bought it 7 years ago but assume they still make it that way. The M4 will have slightly different ballistics so get the m16 one for your Colt because of the longer barrel. I don't know much about LaRue.

  • 4x32 acog lol yeah man thats what i got it was about 1300-1600bucks so yeah but you get what you pay for and more and yes mine does have a stamped bible verse

  • @redmule02 Trijicon makes good stuff. ACOGs must be good if the Germans are buying them, being the gun building elites that they are.
