This is closer to a lot of other genre's before hip hop if you ask me. Just a classification so fuck it, just tired of people calling anything with rap hip-hop and thus applying the same standards of hip hop to it. This should be considered for what it is, as unique.

@Pied3 i think a lot of people like it because they haven't heard this level of aggression in hip-hop before. a lot of people are saying its closer to hardcore punk in places, which i would agree with. if you go to their live shows, it is INCREDIBLY packed and very energetic; there is a genuine desire from the crowd to see this band. maybe you don't think it sounds good, but i definitely do enjoy it, it hasn't left my song rotation all year, and i imagine for a lot of people it hasn't either.

Different cultures and different time periods have had different definitions of acceptable consonance and acceptable dissonance. Beethoven would sound horrendous and dissonant to the audience of Bach - hell much of his work was too harsh for his own time period. Now, in the 21st century, we can consume a vast array of different musics and sound, one shouldn't squander such a gift.
