More or less. You were told (by an audio tape I think) that after the Hive Mind dies, all Necromorphs die. Therefore, Nicole couldn't have been a Necromorph. It was most likely a hallucination. Plus, the developers announced that Isaac didn't die, and he's the main protaganist of Dead Space 2.
