Do you have to have it going into the TV? Can you just have it run directly into the computer? I know it makes it easier to see, but i'm wondering if it is necessary. Especially since my TV does not allow for video out (only audio) despite the fact that it's HD.

@RMACsFilez the wires to the TV are so you can PLAY it, the wires to the Dazzle are so it can be recorded. the splitters/etc are so it can be both done from the same wire.

@OwnedMoat It isn't unless you are using it for monetary gain, or if the developers or publishers put some sort of copyright ban, which as you said, is obviously not true. The worst that can happen, would be that your video gets taken down.

You can be sued for copyright infringement by distributing free videos. Just like you cannot shoot a video of a movie playing and claim it as your own, neither can you shoot a video of a game and call it your own.

of, if you have a laptop and dazzle/easycap just connect it directly to it and use vga or hdmi (for those with laptops that has hdmi outputs) to your lcd/pc monitor (i have hannspree 23'' full 1080p with vga and hdmi ports) and use it form there. and record in full screen while you can still play on your monitor...or just play on your laptop screen

what u need...

1.dazzle(any type, i have one for 50 bucks)

2. 3 y splitters

3. double ended A/V cable

plug the av splitters into the tv, and the console cables into them, then witht the double sided av cables you plug one end into the other spot in the av slitters. then the other into the ddazzle.

why not just play it on the computer? Why have to connect it to a TV to play while capture? You can see the game on the computer, just play it on there and forget about the couplers, splitters etc. All you need is 14$ easy capture from eBay and connect it to your laptop. I don't have TV in my student accommodation, I had a projector (better than tv because small) but lamp died and I can't afford a new projector lamp (200$ for toshiba ones). I don't have a tv thus I play on my laptop? Makes sense

This setup is so that you can watch your video game on your TV while recording, i didn't use the couplets. But you can just hook up AV cables into dazzle and record, but ti will be really hard to know what you are doing during gameplay.

With the splitters, your allowing the picture (from the XBOX) to go to BOTH the PC and the XBOX. If you did it without the Splitters, the picture would only go to your PC.
