And my team was entirely white.

Then i died.

I miss squaresoft (not Enix) - they knew how to create a timeless game. The only good thing I liked from Enix was Kingdom Hearts (and that was actually a project started under squaresoft). Besides 13, the other FF's were pretty bland.

chrono trigger was an absolutely AMAZING game. it rewrote RPG's and raised the bar to an unconcievable level, and changed the gaming community. Chrono Cross grabbed that bar by the balls and launched it past the heavens and through chuck norris's ass. there has never been a more complex story line that meant so much. there has never been so many loveable characters. there has never been such an epic musical score that was so emotional. and above all else, there has never been a better game.

In my opinion THIS was the final epic battle. The Time Devourer had no music during his fight and if you fought him the "right" way it was over very quickly. This fight was just awesome. Time to finish this once and for all Lavos/Reptites!

@DizzyHempstead516 its pretty easy. if you have the Chrono Cross element equip it to the first slot. then use the elements in this order: Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Black, White. after you use that order (it has to REMAIN in that order) then use chrono cross. that damn thing will try to use elements to throw you off. but with good timing- itll get you the right ending this worked for me: attack with each character to build up meter, defend with each character on your next turn, then cast.

@spokidokes I actually found it easier if The True Time Devourer used a yellow element first and then I followed it up. Like that, she actually helped me by casting the last White element for the chain, instead of ruining it (which she kept on doing for quite some time actually :P)

I close my eyes listening to this track and I imagine a riverdance to the first verse. With a great introduction of the woman singing..the second verse I imagine the entrance of a band of strong men, then a evil seductive woman as the violin plays. The third and fourth verses are progression.. even some other worldly representations....

In a way it really was not a Sequel to Chrono Trigger it felt more like a sequel to Radical Dreamers but hell both Cross and Trigger are good games so it really don't matter :)

@MCMike117 In some ways it was though, if you get the right ending in the Playstation chrono trigger, you see Kid as a baby and Lucca finds her and brings her to the orphanage. Also, before you fight the time devourer, the 3 ghosts are inf act , Chrono, Lucca, and Marle. so in many ways it is a sequel :) those are just my opinions though

@desryu I'm almost positive that there's direct references made to the fact that Kid is a clone of Schala created by Schala after being consumed by the Time Devourer in a very vague attempt to explain what happened to Schala in Chrono Trigger.

I don't think it's said directly that it's Schala seen in that battle but I'm pretty sure it's, at the very least, strongly alluded to.

@kkeelan It is my recollection that the party does not obtain this knowledge until after the fight where this song plays. I am aware of the allusions to schala especially in the cinematics from the psx chrono trigger that shows the baby schala, aka kid, popping out of a time vortex right in front of Lucca. I only meant that there was no definitive statement that it was here in the time devourer, evne if common sense says otherwise.

its a bit sad but, Chrono Cross is probably the best homage to Celtic mythology there is. Although it also borrows from Greco-Roman, and even some Norse myth, the game is 90% Celtic mythology, through and through. Traveling to other worlds is a recurring theme in Celtic myth.
