確か韓国が日本の歌や文化を入れることをいまだに禁止しているの­を、なんとか交渉で粘って、ＯＫが出たと思ったらまた駄目になっ­ての繰り返しで、確か飛鳥さんも疲れたって話だったと思う。この­韓国政府との交渉で疲れたのか自然に涙が出たと言っていた。この­時のエピソードを、チャゲと飛鳥が話していた動画があるはず。チ­ャゲは飛鳥が声出てないのを気付いたが、飛鳥のメインパートを知­らず、自分のパートしか覚えてなかったとかで、笑っていたような­。

@konekoya2008 This video was when CHAGE&ASKA made a live concert in Korea in 2000 as the first Japanese musician. Japanese language songs had been forbidden in Korea till then but President Kim Dae-jung lifted the prohibition for cultural exchange between Korea and Japan. First Lady of the President went on search watching many Japanese artists' concerts, then CHAGE & ASKA was chosen as a goodwill envoy. It is said that they were threatened by haters. So now you can guess why ASKA was crying.

Unfortunately her PC has no comment setting so I did it. Well, additional story ; one of the reason why CHAGE&ASKA was selected as the goodwill envoy was that their fans had a habit tidying up the place after concerts !

I was at this concert. It was a momentous, perhaps historic occasion. First time a Japanese band were allowed to play live in Korea after decade of cultural tension stemming from the past conflicts between two countries. Chage and Aska was the first band to break new ground between Korean and Japanese cultural exchange. It was emotional. In the end, music prevailed.

I can't say whether there were any personal issue involved. But he read out a letter in Korean, how they are aware of past history and how significant this moment was. He choked up half way, audience cheered him on. They followed it with a song after another.
