It would be such a community benefit to have Google Fiber here. I'm on the board of NCTV, our local community access TV station, and we are rarin' to go with new community-oriented digital media projects that would capitalize on fiber connectivity. So many people here don't have either cable broadband or DSL, and are stuck with dial-up or poorly working satellite broadband. Please Google, pick us! Pick us!

As a former Stanford high-speed backbone network engineer, I can say unequivocally that Nevada City is the ideal site for Google's rural gigabit initiative.

Nevada City -- because of the unusually high technical skill level within its community -- would provide an opportunity for rapid deployment, as well as a rich environment for tracking and measuring the success of the initiative ongoing.

We're a technically supersaturated solution ripe for an economic phase-change!
