  • My theme song. Nothing I do is good enough for anyone. I will never succeed at anything. No one will help me. Fuck you stupid, mean selfish world.

  • she is the most beautiful woman there is.

  • this song makes me think of my mom xoxo

  • me encanta esta hermoza mujer es toda una poeta y su voz es como si cantara un angel espero y un dia poder ir a uno de sus conciertos

  • in the arms of the angeeeel flyyy away from here

  • WOAH! She looks exactly like Lenka Kripac!!

Just look up "the show - lenka" on Youtube and look at her face, they're like, the same person 0_0

  • Hey little girl would you like some candy?

    Your momma said it's okay.

The door is open, come on outside.

    - No I can't come out today.

That's deep, I think it's about introvert people, people with traumatic experience, or people who like to keep their grieves only for themselves, or something like that ...

  • This song is the most amazing song for me !!!!!

  • Still my favorite song, still my favorite cd...

  • This version is different than the ones I found on iTunes. What album did you get this from?

  • she is sooooo good. sarah rocks very soothing voice no one compares to her.wooooow just wow.

  • wow camille henderson looks so pretty! She was with sarah for a while! i thought she only did her backup singing for mirrorball!

  • Love this song, but the video seems out of sync contextually.

  • this makes me cry every time i listen 2 it

it reminds me of a lot of sad times

    i love it tho

  • I can't figure from the lyrics whether this is a friend trying to console an abuse victim or if it's from the point of view of the abuser....I guess it's cuz I'm putting the lyrics in context of the vid.

  • Her voice makes the song

  • Her voice makes every song :)

  • é paia

  • I really love her style of music. And she's so beautiful

  • her name is amy lee and because there are only so many titles you can give a song. I don't care cause both of them are good.

  • Not really mayn look at mobile phones 11 number conbos to choose from yet we're all connected around the globe. Now look at the alphabet, 26 letters to combine and rhyme and yeah mann watch it flow I've got novellas pouring out of my fingertips as we speak. Thanks for the reply btw twas ever so kind. Yeah both songs are alright to chill with but I never liked the title anyway... hence my confusion when I realised that two songs had it.

  • This is so friggin sad.......

  • This is the first song I heard by Sarah. That's all it took. I was captivated and have been a fan ever since.

  • oh god, i was in the 5th grade when this song came out. it was so beautiful. if u hadn't posted it, i would've forgotten it. THANKS!

  • isnt that the lady for the animal shelter thingy...

  • yeah, her name is sarah mclachlan.

  • why did i get a negative?

    so rude lol

  • Start with Mirrorball.

  • awesome song

im new to her, can anyone recommend an album?

  • Closer-The Best of Sarah McLachlan-CD or my preference-Sarah McLachlan: Video Collection 1989-1998-DVD.

  • All of them. But my fave is Fumbling Towards Ecstasy (1994).

  • mine too

  • Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

  • Fumbling Towards Ecstasy is her masterpiece but all her works are great...i'm not in the hits records cause her albums are perfect as they is

  • yes shes awesome

  • I love mirror ball, its a lot of her best songs live..

and, she is one of those amazing people that actually sounds great live...

  • @StrangeRapunzel "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" and "Surfacing" are her best by far in my opinion, though theres some real gems in the other albums as well

  • i wish i had this version on cd. my current copy is the one i bought like 12 years ago. i enjoy hearing the harmony more.

  • This version is on "Fumbling Toward Ecstacy" (the greatest album of the 90's, in my opinion.)

  • I love Sarah! She makes me cry with almost evry one of her songs! My vision is blurry!!! Also i think it's the music video!

  • my opinion of the song is that the father is abusing the mother, you can tell by the sullen look on her face, and that the child is suffering because of it. in the end the mother makes a change and stands on her own two feet. and the little family is happy again!

  • My opnion of the story line of this song seems that the family life was very bad and the daughter could see that the fights and troubles had broken the mother and father apart. But until the mother stands up for her and her daughter in the end to make it on their own without the fear from what they have lived through. Just my opnion from the words and video.

  • whats this song about?

  • her voice make me dreamin

  • her voice make me dreamin

  • What is this song about? No doubt is sounds very pretty, but I can't seem to follow the story line. Can anybody tell me?

  • she is beautiful, and so is her music

  • great cinematography!

  • still love this song

  • This video is on the CD.

  • I love this song better than any of her others.

  • I can't tell if he abuses his wife or she drinks all the time?

  • Such a great song.

  • i got to this vidoe by mistake but i kinda like its kind of relaxing unlike ove song

  • this is one of my favorites

  • i've never seen this video before... thank you.

  • BUEN VIDEO :)

  • wow first time I ever saw this video

  • good good

  • Such a beautiful song in the album. I don't like what they did to the chorus in the video version. Sarah's probably one of the best Canadian songwriters of her century, but its too bad her promotion had to wreck her style. Some ppl say its a Canadian content law that pushed the Aida to play non-stop. Stupid law. They over-played Aida to the point that i got sick whenever i heard it.

This video is garbage. Go buy the album, "Fumbling towards extacy". This is a poor version.

  • Your totally right, Fumbling towards Extascy is simply one of the greatest albums ever recorded...but this video doesn't do it justice.

  • I have to agree with you there. It is definitely in my Top 5 albums ever. Funny thing is I first heard it as a 17 yr old working music retail and initially thought it was dull and lifeless. 15 years later it still gives me chills.

  • brings back memories

  • I tottaly agree.

  • She is one of my faves, rarely misses.

  • This is an amazing song, and this feeling happens to all of us, just in smaller amounts.

I love Sarah McLachlan's songs. And this song and video are both SO powerful!

  • Agreed.

  • This song has such special meaning to me, 8 years ago when my boyfriend I first met, he told me this song reminded him of me; I was in a abusive marriage. His love brought me back to life and so did sarah's music, she is hands down the eternal goddess of song and the epitome of beauty! Thank you Sarah, don't ever stop making music

  • I came across your comment while listening to this song, , and the combination of the two just about made me burst into tears.

I'm so happy that you have turned your life around, and have found inspiration to live a happy life! I wish I could just give you a huge hug!

  • @sarahfan31 It hurts because I tried to comfort my woman-friends who were in abusive relationships and I couldn't. They kept going back and getting hurt. I thought I was doing something wrong but I wasn't. I didn't know but I was helping them little bit little so they could learn that not all guys treat women like that. It hurt me so much at the time because I felt like I was nothing. I never saw the healing I was doing by just being there. And that's why I'm here. I left something good.

  • I used to be really into her when I was in high school.

  • Sarah is one of those artists who, with so few words, can capture an image so intense that it stays with you forever. This song is so beautiful and tragic and dramatic and emotional all at the same time. That is the work of an artist.

  • She's pretty, I agree, though, she's one of those few who sound better live, but still, the song is incredible

  • prefer the live version more.

  • Love it!! that little girl is me all over!!

  • Wow I like it alots. But I wonder how old this music video?

  • 1993/94

  • Every time I listen to this song I get an amazing shiver...

My love, remember???... it's our song... back to our space where we are and where we ALWAYS be for each other.

  • video is powerful.

  • this song is so fucking sad...a time in my life when I lost a girl I loved ...to suicide ....life is so short ...

  • I have lost the one I love too, he has gone back to his native land.. and I don't have his contact or anything, so yea... probably gone forever. but... I know my pain can't compare, I'm so sorry *HUG*

  • We all have different circumstances that create pain in our lives. Nothing is forever...I hope you see him again....*HUGS*

  • I'm so sorry to hear that. I came upon this video by accident looking for an Anita Baker video called "Good Enough" My thoughts are with you.

  • this is a great video, it kinna reminds me of kelly clarkson because of you......

  • Onhuur best!

  • "Hey little girl would you like some candy? The door is open, come on outside. It's not the wind that cracked your shoulder and threw you to the ground"

A woman looking back on her own childhood abuse. Makes you look at it in a different way.

  • It makes me cry. It's too sad. But oh how I love it!

  • Been an avid fan of sarah for years now; her music and voice really are incomparable. You'd love to hear her songs esp if you want to relax at the end of a long and arduous day =)

  • This is worth ten marks on my English test: what is the narrator ultimately confessing in this song? Listen carefully, kids.

  • well can you tell me the answer

i'm not an English native speaker.

    i didn't get that !?

  • Iheard that this is about child abuse, though it's difficult to get that from the lyrics.

  • wow, this is such a great song...

  • I love Sarah, but I wish her backup singer got her due credit she is amazing as well!!

  • I really like this song. It's really mellow and the chorus is just amazing.

  • I feel so sappy saying this, but this song really hit me hard. I adore it. Thank you for uploading it.

  • Wow - no words to describe what this makes me feel.... I love this song.... first time I saw the video - even better!

  • sarah mclachlan's best album fumbling towards ecstasy

  • wow! I really love Sarah McLachlan...this is the first time i've heard this song and I really like it! The video's really good too!

  • There's no words to comment this video.. She's is incredible singer, and this song is just wonderfull

  • Thank you for adding this, I love this song :-)
