  • Awesome video Kyle! Nice catch on these GP 38-2's.

  • I love how one of the engineers tossed a flare out on the road without traffic signals. That was cool along with the close up shots

  • No railroad down the local street here in the UK...looks as if the train is going through peoples front gardens! Good video 5*

  • 1:21, Dynamite! Run!!!

  • you got some nice close shots there.nice to see some CR blue still survives.

  • 0:50 probably the most classic fall foliage shot you've gotten.

  • Thanks, Ryan! I think so too... I took a photo at that moment, and it was a shot I finally got on RP

  • So you were finally able to crack them. Good job!

  • Can I have that SD60I please? Cool vid, nice job!

  • LOL! Sure, Kenny. I'll be sure to put it on the front of a Pittsburgh - bound stacker. By the way, keep your eyes peeled for an upload Saturday night -- if all goes well, my best Conrail shots ever!

  • Ok will do, I love how ya capture CR blues! Get 'em while ya can!

  • Why did he throw out the fusee at the crossing?

  • There's no crossing gate at that crossing, so throwing lighted flares is another way of signalling that a train's passing through.

  • @gtw4918 no warning lights/bells/gates and from the looks of it its a quiet zone so no horn

  • There are no signs or anything to indicate a railroad crossing. However it is not a quiet zone -- they are just supposed to be restrictive with the amount of horn they use. Some engineers will blow the full sequence for each crossing (see return trip in my video with the All-Conrail consist) and others will stick with the bell only

  • I would've thought the conductor was going to flag the crossing since he was out on front anyway.

  • Nice!

  • Beatiful video

  • WOW! Awesome Footage, 5 Stars! Also liked the Conrail unit in background!

  • Nice video, Great sound and great angles!

  • Heh..listen at 1:26 - 1:30. Quite a neat rhythm with an air release, the bell ,and the air hose tapping the plow. "snap, ding, tap tap" and some bongo sounding creaking. Only happens once though..

Great video! Looking forward to more in the series!

  • Great video, by the time I got there, 2103 and 2104 were hiding the 6718, however I got a quick grab shot of the other one when I went over the yard over a bridge, maybe 6718 will leaving on 17G sometime this week, who knows?

  • Oh yeah,we have two of the 10 SW1001's on NS' roster. It's almost like a god-send from the RailGods!! But did you go to the other side? You can see it from that side. And yeah -- or the 20E, 21E or 21Q. The 9737 would be leading, so it's anyone's guess which one they'll get stuck to.

  • Great videos, by the time I got there, they were hiding the 6718, but I got a quick shot of the other one while passing over the yard on the bridge.

  • Thanks, Dan! And geeze -- I knew that the 9737 was idling, so it seemed like they were going to do something, but I didn't think that soon. I'm glad you got the other one, though. That one seems to have two patches! Thanks again Dan

  • No problem, Here's hoping that they sit around for a month like that 5425.

  • LOL yeah right, that would be too nice of NS.

  • Very nice video, dude. 5*, a favorite, and a channel post.

  • Thanks, Jared! I'm glad you liked it! And thanks VERY much! I appreciate that buddy

  • Awesome video! Most of the trees around me have already lost their color. I guess because I'm further north than you. I think I prefer the "raw footage" to the narrated footage but I like the narration because it provides info that you can't get just by watching the trains.

  • Thanks, Nathan! I'm glad you liked it! And I see what you mean -- I just saw a map showing the fall foliage index, and the "Past Peak" is beginning to creep down into New Jersey/PA, so I better get going LOL! And I understand what you mean -- that's why I'm going to try to do a balance between both (I hope it works out!)

  • You know what would be kind of a cool idea...I don't know how much railfanning you do in the winter but I'll bet its a lot less than you do in the other seasons so you could build up a ton of footage before it gets really cold out and then release it slowly over the winter so you would have videos to upload even if you didn't want to stand for hours in the cold filming trains. Like how a squirrel builds up a supply of acorns. (I used the squirrel analogy because I know how much you like them)

  • Great video, love the street running/branch line action in a fall setting.

  • Thanks very much Andy! And I'm glad -- because next week's chase on this line is going to be the next episode in "Fall Foliage in the Delaware Valley"!

  • Fantastic work! Those tracks look absolutely terrible though!

  • Thanks very much! I'm glad you liked it! And yeah, I've seen a few rails stamped for the mid 50's. This line is used one to three times a week, so I suppose it isn't among the first in line for M.o.W.!

  • Is this your new video series? I see you already have the christmas logo, lol.

  • Yes sir it is! And yes lol, never too early for Christmas, I always say. In fact, I'm decorating tomorrow! =D

  • I'm like the opposite of you there. I like to keep my house feeling like autumn at least till Thanksgiving (yes even though I live in Florida where there is no autumn I make my best attempt lol). My Christmas stuff usually comes out around the time of the tree lighting in New York.

  • LOL! Hey, if you do indoor decorations maybe you can create the illusion of a Floridian autumn! But that's quite a long time -- I don't know how you can resist that long

  • Great video Kyle! What type of horn is that on #5329? Nice Conrail catch also! Love the unpatched Conrail numbers!

  • Thanks, Mike! Well... the 5329 HAD an RS3L last time I saw it (about a month ago). I have no idea what they put up there, now though. It may be a P5, but I really don't know. I'll try to find out next weekend. And thanks very much! Actually, there wasn't just one but TWO ex-CR SD60I's in the yard. I just got better access to the 6718. Thanks again Mike, your commenting my video is really appreciated!

  • Awesome video! Those NS units look great in the colorful foliage! I like the "raw railroading" idea too! BTW, it's still Fall!

  • Thanks very much, Tim! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And I know... but it wasn't even 40 degrees this morning, so it felt like Winter. I often estimate ;) lol

  • lovely first scene like a movie, then 1:20 conductor trowing flares at the crosing?? never seen tath before ....great comp of videos

    5 stars rate

  • Thanks, Juvmol! And yeah, there are no crossing gates, bells or signs... so that's pretty much the only way they can make their presence known aside from the bell and occasional horn usage. Thanks again!

  • 1:20 conductor missed by a little there

  • Which is a big no no anyway.

  • Yeah, he is supposed to get off and flag the crossing, which he did do at the S. Pennsylvania Avenue crossing. This is a whole new crew, though. I have no idea what happened to the crew I was friends with.

  • no but he missed the middle of the crossing by wowwtf

  • Awesome as always!

  • Thanks very much Tim!

  • I like the idea!

  • Thanks, Chris!
