My high school had the tallest player in the district. He was 6'8 and could dunk easily. The only problem was the other posts that were 6'4 and 6'5 could jump high enough to block him and screw up his shots. Its not like he can hold the ball over the basket with his hand turned down. Height is just an advantage.

I don't know if he would have been a great NBA player but at 7'7 its hard not to be a good player. But lets face it, he still went to a small division 1 school, like his coach said he isn't conditioned, he can be dunked on, and in college, especially smaller colleges, the post players aren't as strong as NBA posts that have had years of training. But I admit I would have loved to see him and Yao duke it out in the post for even just a few minutes a game.

Bulk, the freak forces that apply to joints due to long levers, poor blood ciruculation in body extremeties ... all not good. Nope, the best basketball players will be 6.6 to 6.8 not 7.8.
