  • Sighh... another "real/non-rel" music discussion. If there is anyone here who says, "Rap is not real music!" or "I bet that rap lovers don't understand Sorabji at all" then I would refer those people to one of my favorites, Ligeti's Poeme Symphonique for 100 Metronomes. kthnxbai

  • Reminds me a little Ligeti's "Devil's Staircase"

And guys, seriously... There is MUCH MORE, and WAY "worse" stuff than this... Haha!!

  • Tearjerker.

  • not my cup of tea

  • THAT'S IT!!!!!

  • Ha! this man was miserable and mad at the world.

  • Thx, Ullen's the Best, He has recorded out now the second set of these Etudes, I think 26 to 50 something;

  • Sorajbi's opus clavicebalisticum is not his longest, but It is his longest published. I've heard some of his unamed 8 hour opus. Not actually performed though. I can only play the first to pages

  • If I were to listen to something whilst going mad, this would be it

  • chopin is real music

  • But Chopin's music reflects a world that doesn't exist anymore.

  • @Brianjonestown:

I'm not saying Chopin is bad music, I'm just saying there might be a reason why composers of the 20th century writes music that sounds like this and not like that of Chopin.

Maybe you have some reading to do yourself.

    And eating.

  • Just because Sorabji sounds less pleasing to your ear than Chopin doesn't mean isn't music.

  • Sounds beautiful to me.Scriabin has an etude in sevenths, ninths and fifths. He was the first to compose an etude at these intervals. Etude in 4ths would be interesting. As for ruining music, haha, you have not heard much then, listen to the Rite of Spring written in 1919. this is not the most difficult piano piece either and it can not be random when the music is written out.

  • Sorabji's 16th Transcendental Study is in 4ths

  • You're right in saying that. The most difficult piano piece ever has a name, and it's Sorabji's Opus Archmagicum!

  • He was not the first one to do this; Scriabin's etude for ninths, ninths are seconds with an octave in between, and therefore the more difficult! Though, this is interesting indeed!

  • GirFromlnvaderZim,

I bet you listen to rap and you tell yourself ''WOW that's real music!''

  • ah fuck u, i listen to chopin bitch

  • @IloveAlexisBledel689 I liked it and i also think Hip Hop is real music...

  • the best in the fucking earth, i know is not nice for the comun ears but unfortunadly this is cientifically technically and harmonically the hardest or connected to the hardest because goes RAMDOM almost sorry for my terrible english i speak spanish

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I love Sorabji's work.
