This commercial is ingenious on a lot of levels. Pay particular attention to these lyrics: "Grab a stick, pull it out." If you were to break this down into sound "phonemes" and re-translate into written English, you would get "Grab HIS DICK, pull it out." Yes, the gum curving into a phallic shape as they "pop it in" their mouths is suggestive, but they underscore this with the lyrics. I wonder how much more gum they sold by insinuating that chewing it would get you more sex?!

I beileve these commercials are the reason we all fold the stick of gum on our tongues when we "pop it in our mouths." It's such a distinctive, elegant way to put a stcik of gum in your mouth, when it would make more sense to bite down on the piece to cut it in half, so to speak. But these commercials just made us all do the "folding" thing to look sexy like these 80s folks!

I still don't get the sexual suggestions here since they're fully clothed and water skiing, and since the song has a country beat to it, but I guess if you haven't sucked the big one in a long time, everything can be interpreted sexually. I just took 2 loads today, and I wish they tasted like juicy fruit instead of rancid seawater mixed with bleach and pancake syrup like these guys.
