  • Garrys mod has space? ._.

  • it needs more range

  • Cool

  • 42

  • can this teleport more distances like miles?

  • @leonxclairemessenger It can warp to any distance it just depends on what you input into the constant value.

  • hidden gps or simple calcuation gateset. Either way its something different than a minge cage.

  • omg i had searched for this thank you so much cuz its only a bit away not 100 miles like the other teleporters

  • were did you get the viper?

  • is this expression1? cause i cant see the chip :S

  • I don't mean to, as I know many people would see this aspect of the device, but would you be able to increase the jump distance, and use it to teleport a device towards your enemy? For example, I am aware of an anti-matter bomb that you can download into Gmod.

  • @Lordofdragons16 Yep, the teleport distance is just set by a value which you can modify on the device.

  • what is the name of the map and the ship??

  • what is the name of the map??

  • put it on a space ship!

  • its a hiperdrive for spaceships!

  • may i just ask is t like he teleporter method and you can set a certain distance on the Y-axis and it will teleport you that specified distance therfore allowing you to set a distance of lets say 200 000 and you will teleport 200 000 meteres or so in the direction that you are facing? is that the concept of this Directional Jump Drive

  • Exactly right! :)

  • epic win. when i get gmod (which is when i buy my new computer and orange box, which is for a while D: ) i will be downloading all the spacebuild 3 essentials and making myself a giant battle cruiser and station but knowing how to make the drive will help my cruiser get to where its needed to help protect our beloved gooniverse :D

  • @PyrOTeEchNik ultra big battlecruisers and spacestations at once will get your gmod crashed.. remember that.. try to build anything AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE, but as best as you can :P

  • lol if it only went farther -_-

  • Tutorial!!!!! Please!

  • Uh yeah.

    Forgot about that bit.

    JumpTarget = Ship:forward()*Distance+Ship:pos()

Otherwise you'd jump to the origin. >_> Stupid me.

  • JumpTarget = Ship:forward()*Distance

    Simple enough in E2 ;)

  • Better and a esyer way, just put a GPS a few 100 miles in front of the ship. wire it to the hoverdrive , weld it to the ship and BAM u teleport there, no GYRO/EXPRESSION/CHIPS.

  • It's certainly easier. I wouldn't say that it's better, though.

  • easier, but far from better. that gps will crash into things.

  • no collide it with world

  • @andarsjukir but you have to Walk all way over to were you wanted go in the first place (thus defeating the perpus) and put it there, walking all the way back to your ship and teleporting there..

  • @andarsjukir a ranger that output the x/y/z coordinates, and uncheck that output zero if not collided. same concept better solution.

  • Any way to change the distance on it?

  • You should make it go further like ..... i dont know ......... a few 100 miles? ....... if you added it to a giant spaceship and it jumped like a 100 miles .......... IT WOULD BE FUKING AWESOME ..... like slipspace jumping or something , just a thought on this device , otherwise its a great jump drive for spaceships , btw im subscribing for when you make more like this.

  • you should maybe put avon/ the stargate pack in the credit since he coded the drive.. making the center peace for this thing, wich is super easy to create.

  • Garry's Mod - a mod for HL2.

  • Would you mind uploading it ?

  • Haven't got the internet on my main PC at the moment, but once it's hooked up in a few weeks I'll try and get an expression/duplicator file uploaded.

  • Great! :) thanks

  • Did you use GPS ?

  • From what I can remember I had one GPS on the drive just to find out it's initial position. The actual finishing position was then a product of the vector direction it was pointing in and the distance you wanted to travel.

  • Nice, glad to see another BSG fan out there. I even went as far as to editing the jump sounds for the hover drive to match the sounds made during the show. Its rather cool actually.

  • how big of ship could that warp? O_o

  • I was working on one on flat_grass which was huge, but the Wiremod hydraulics have a habit of messing up when you teleport them or put them in zero gravity.

  • i found a way around that!!! its not the best idea but attach a atmospheric generator at both ends almost tripled how far i could move it out glitch free

  • Thanks, I'll give that a go.

  • but dont use a radius of more than 60 or other ppl will get pissed about sudden drop in ship hieght

  • The cheap-stupid way to do this is to wire it up to warp to some locator using a target finder and a beacon. You put the locator some distance forward from the front of the ship, and you wire the hover drive to warp to the locator

Except, you'd then have to no-collide the locator and then change its alpha, and then you wouldn't really remember where the locator was in relation to the ship

  • Yeh, and you wouldn't be able to change the jump distance unless the locator was on a slider in front of the ship (which is always a bit buggy when they get to long distances). I've had no end of trouble trying to get anything hydraulic actually working in zero gravity.

  • I have said this before but it's dropped off the front comment page; you can change the range using a wire input. At the moment it's just hooked up to a constant value.

  • Lol good one , only that its bit too short range :D And idk what happens if you hit something solid , like drive into wall or something.

  • attach a Jumpdrive motavater to it and you can go much more ferther then a few feet :)

  • you could go quite fast with this just tappin' the button to warp all fast like.

it'd be like a pulse motor kinda.

  • if there was a wall in the middle could it still teleport through it or would it just hit the wall?

  • Nope, it would go through it.

  • What's the maximum distance on the ship? I'm planning on using a calibration setting in the driver seat of a fighter of mine and I want to go planet to planet without being seen... or to my secret base in case if I begin to loss power or I lose control.

  • You can change the distance with an input to the chip (just use an accumulator and change it as you need to). I would think jumping directly inside your secret base is risky though, unless you're happy materialising inside rock and metal =).

  • lol, I meant close to the port and to drift into it, or have someone pull me in using the gun. But it is risky if you think about it. *Jumps into the sun*X_X*instant vaporisation* XD

  • I have one more idea, Back to the Future jump drive! Once you reach a speed of 888 mph, because 88mph is much to slow, you jump a distance of 8 miles!

  • I built one of these it's my pride and joy

  • dude,just a suggestion,but add it to a car :3 it would be awesome.

  • I added it to a dump truck. Teleporting it through people really was awesome.

  • you should try teleporting it to an entirely different planet in gmod spacebuild.

  • That's easier to do with a jump drive and a GPS. This is more for teleporting you in the direction you're going.

  • sweet :D

  • that would be kewl :D... my first space ship and it has a warp drive LAWL. super sweeet vid. that drives just awesome :D

  • Funny Idea -> Wield this to a n00b then activate it then he'll be angry. there should be Auto Mode.

  • It would be fantastic if you could make a tutorial for this. the link is broken and i've been looking all over the place for how to do this. would be so usefull for a fighter to charge its target and instead of pulling up just teleport through it

  • Edited the link in the description for you. Would be nice if Wiremod didn't keep screwing with their forum...

  • thank you very much!

  • Yes! I was looking for this

  • Instructions on how to make pl0x?

  • Added a link in the video info, but it seems the wiremod forums are down at the moment.

  • Thank you very much anyways

  • that has bad range, but you put it on the VIPER thats fuckign awesome

  • The range is adjustable - it's just a constant value fed into the chip.

  • agreed

  • where do you get that spaceship model?

  • It's from the Eternal Silence models pack.

  • crash srry for the late repsonce on how i got it to work, but i got ti to work by using the svn version, download tortus svn and svn checkout the gmod addons folder with th url provided at the wiremod official site on the "how to download" topic =)

  • i'm trying to make this but can i ask what is the expression gate you use and when using the wire tool what wires to what

  • Sent you the link in a message.

  • thank you so much

  • No problem

  • if you link it too a gps you can travel straight to where you put the gps

  • Yes, you could, but that's been done before and misses the point of this contraption. The idea is that you can travel a variable distance in whatever direction you are facing at the press of a button.

  • Really, Really COOL!

  • nice :DD like a star trek

  • Can anyone give me some pretty modern online wasd based simulator ? I hunger for those long time , neither they are too old or too complicated.Dont want 100 keys and so on.But loads of fast paced action , then instant respawning and some more action.Like airquake or something.Space or no space , makes no difference.

  • Although there are far better places to ask this kind of question, I'll try and give you a few suggestions: Freelancer, Freespace, X2 or X3, or Decent (if you want to go retro).

  • make the jump longer and you got 'hyper space' ^^

  • I thought it too ^^

I like it but it's not really interresant because jumping 10 meters ....

  • yeah, you can walk faster ^^

  • you can change the value on the constant value chip to anything you want and "jump" really far, but if you dont aim right you end up inside things or outside the level

  • put it on a car and you got back to the future hehe

  • I did that with the huge dumper truck that comes with the vehical mod pack. It was classic.

  • What about setting more distance and put it on a startrek style spaceship? ^_^

  • nvm i got it to work, also koo vid

  • Do you mind posting how just so that if anyone has the same problem they can fix it. Thanks.

  • What kind of plane was that

  • Battlestar Galactica Viper

  • can u gimme the link to download it???

  • uploading is noob, downloading is even worse. stfu.

  • somebody has a rusty tampon shoved up their ass....

  • hoho.. i wonder who..

  • Sorry, missed your comment. Download link is in the video info. It's at the bottom of the wiremod forum post.

  • hey i got the same prob as chevron8653, which wiremod would it be exactly, i have the wiremod rev. 530

  • I've tested it on a clean install of mine on the revision 565. If you message me the errors you're getting I'll try and see what's wrong for you.

  • do a test on a large ship, with many props, that would be amazing!

Halfway through a fight, the defenders look completley outgunned, then, in a flash of light, a battleship comes to their aid, and pwns everybody, even the defenders, because they were mingebags.

    THE END!

    whada you think?

  • Sounds awesome and I did actually try it on a battleship I made. So long as the server can cope with the lag and you can actually get it built without other people screwing things up.

  • or it could just do the jump and then all the welds screw up! arrr run a big ball of props lol. but still would be a fucking kewl machinima.

  • lol

a big ball of props doing the speed of light!

its so crazy it might just work...

    ...or not.

  • sweet man. that viper is cool too.

  • my hoverdrive does not work for some reason and i configure it to a gps and a wire button as instructed in a tutorial but when i activate it a whole bunch of stuff appears in the top right corner

  • Sounds like you haven't got wiremod installed properly as the text in the corner are errors. Try updating to the latest SVN.

  • Jeez, Well I read the tutorials, and I dont understand most of it. But I did learn a few new things. I'm in algebra as a 11th grader, so Im a bit slow on math. Im good at math, Im just lazy. Thank you for adding your jumpdrive though. Ill be using it and tell storys about how you made it and all the math you had to go through.

  • Thanks. I'm going to get Garry's Mod installed again soon so hopefully I'll have some time to fiddle about with new stuff and get some more videos up.

  • if that were the case wouldnt everything else fail to coz hoverdrive is the only thing i have problems with

  • how..... how did you do this? I made one, when I was a complete noob on wiremod. I still am a noob but Im not a complete noob anymore. Im in pre alg and I made it so it will teleport 8 directions. How did you make it teleport so accurate and how the hell did you make it go up and down? that must be a big math problem with alot of squaring. Please, I really want to know how you did this.

  • I did some tutorials for the wiremod forums. If you go to the tutorials section and then to the 2nd page, look for two threads by my name and that should help (unfortunately I can't link to it on YouTube). If you need any more help after that send me a message and I'll do my best to explain the maths behind it.

  • Was that a A-Wing? (Star Wars)

  • It's a Viper Mk. II from Battlestar Galactica.

  • Thxs

  • I've done this before, but what I would like to see is a craft that uses a slow teleport, that bridges two places in a line. If it takes 5 minutes to get there, then it only takes 2. Wormhole tech is the future!

  • can u make a longer jump ?

  • The jump distance is just set by a constant value on the panel. I usually set mine to something like 3 times my velocity.

  • That is fucking sweet as hell!! I wish I had Gmod10 again.

  • Nice!
