  • Candy Dulfer and Marceo Parcer need to make a baby to maintain this soul

  • Van Morrison influence...Roger Happel absolutely outstanding...I cannot honestly say I've ever heard a vocal like it..Moon Baker a star in her own right..together it's a damn privilege.

  • DAAAAMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXCELLENT!!!

I guess the 12 that diliked this never got it on

  • DAAAAMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • there´s SOUL (which died a long time ago) and then there´s soul mimickery. Candy. Roher and Moon are really great at making the right, commercially correct soul sounds, but this is not the essence of soul, even though I enjoyed it greatly.

  • Candy is very talented!

  • moon needs to go outer space with that voice and who said she had soul not roger is good real soulful nice song with out moon

  • That's what I thought, thanks. She's awesome also...

  • Wow, this guy Roger Happel can sing. What's the female singer's name?

How could there be anyone who doesn't ?!

  • Music is a color blind world and as soon as the people who cannot produce music or appreciate it for the mere fact that is music ... should go eat ---- and die. This is by far one of the best renditions of this piece I have ever heard. nuff said

  • This guy can sing his ass off and race does not have anything to do with it. 2010 and we have dumb asses that can't tell the difference between self expression and race. Fucking hill jacks make me sick.

  • @Anjunabosco YES He Can

  • @luvemilian. I totally agree With giving black people honor for all the music (except rap/hip-hop) they have created. But tbh i dont care at all about wheather the music is preformed by black or white ppl as long as its good but i dont think that theres any doubt of that most of all good funk and soul is made by the black ppl and therefor i thank the black ppl for creating this.

  • great!

  • @ottavio2dr I agree.

  • when i came across this video i was amazed i couldn't believe it candy dulfer and the hole video is just awesome WOW!

  • While sax-wise I prefer Maceo Parker's live version, the vocals here are simply amazing!

  • Nice try, leuk geprobeerd, maar helaas seksloos gespeeld... Ik voel wel dat ergens wel iets in zit, maar net niet wil komen..en die odie 3 zangeres..

Candy is the only one with the Sex..uhm Sax.

  • WONDERFULL

  • Wow Wow Wow.....i love Marvin Gaye and i stumbled accross this.........BRILLIANT...wonderfull range and what a performance.......thankyou for this

  • The Name of the Band is Funky Stuff

  • whats this bands name ???

  • ik wist niet dat brainpower kon zingen:P 5/5

  • don't need it. These two rip it! There are many black singers now who have no where near the range of these two blue eyed ones!

  • @luvemliam

There are many many Black singers out there who have the range. Unfortunately they are more focused on making money so they sing Hip-Hop crape. Also, the churches are full of Black singers with this range but you will never hear them in the main stream. I am Black, and my opinion is they have sold out their heritage. I'm glad to see these two pick up the slack. However, let's always give honor where the music came from...the Black community.

  • @cjfl1962 @cjfl1962 It is so retarded when I hear people say that "give honor where the music came from". I'm assuming you speak english, are you giving honor? I'm assusming you wear regular clothes instead of a loin cloth, are you giving honor? I'm assuming you no longer hunt for your food? Just where exactly are you giving this ridiculous honor too? What does it always have to turn ito a black thing? Are you so insecure that you have to always be recognized? What the hell!

  • @cjfl1962 Get over it! Marvin was a talented man. These are talented people. My response was to someone who said tey need a black voice, clearly they do just fine without one!

  • @cjfl1962 you're lame

  • @luvemliam just stop it's good music no race needs to involved

  • @luvemliam it's great music and there gift so stop with the race remarks

  • @aneilaford suck it! I was responding to someone else who was making "race remarks"

  • @luvemliam your point being?? The fact that they are singing SOUL music is proof enough that black people do not need to compete with them. Because soul music was first INSPIRED by BLACK AMERICANS. Key word INSPIRED! Now, if white people can sing like them, than you have something. The same with opera. Check out Leontyne Price and Kathleen Battle....also, check out Aretha Franklin when she stood in for Pavarotti--remember, Fraklin never had any classical training.

  • @luvemliam ALSO, the fact of the matter is that these two can sing, but they are not singing in their natural voice, it's FALSE Falsetto. The same thing that Justin Timberlake does when he sings "SOUL" music. Compared to ROBIN THICKE, who sings from the soul than we have something. Don't let your ears device you just because they are singing soul, this is a false Falsetto and if you know music you can hear it, unless you are tone deaf. But, I do like the music nonetheless.

  • @majin32547 false falsetto? now you are reaching. Falsetto means false voice...you make up a bunch of crap, make ridiculous comparisons like Aretha and Pavoarotti, and then end it with "but I do like the music"? What planet are you from...or did you just type to watch your fingers move. Don't jump into a conversation without looking back and seeing how far back the conversation went. Clearly you are missing alot of info...

  • @majin32547 you just have to shut up with your bullshit. you may wish you have a voice like those two do. So think first before you say something stupid!!

  • @luvemliam "There are many black singers now who have no where near the range of these two blue eyed ones!"

There are plenty, they just don't get signed by major labels. To get a deal today a Black singer must look like Rhianan or Blake. Go to any Baptist or Pentecostal church and they will wipe the floor with these two and anybody else on the radio.

  • @luvureally wipe the floor? Really? well praise the Lord....I really doubt it...

  • @luvemliam I'm sure you regularly attend Black churches throughout AL, MS, GA, NC, SC, LA, VA, TN, etc.,

  • @luvureally This isn't a contest. It's music. Get it?

  • @luvureally Yeah I was the prophet, apostle rev. bishop of the holy ghost whats happening now, church of the coming Lord Jesus for the dear saints of God deliverance tabernacle. ever hear of me?

  • @luvemliam No but you have probably heard of me, the esteemed, honorable Rev. James L. White.

  • @luvureally uh let me think....nope...but don't fret most Rev's are only famous in their minds...the real ones need no introduction. T.D Jakes rarely has to introduce himself....or even needs an introduction. But you hang in there Jimmy...I'm sure you make your mommy proud!

  • @luvemliam Indeed Mommy is proud, The Rev. James L. White is all over youtube!

  • @luvureally Thats hilarious....your a big shot because you are on youtube? Have you seen all the things on youtube? Anyone one can post anything..for the most part. Plus, last I rmember Jesus' mission while on earth was primarily covert. Why is it that you want such reccognition?....you should probably dig into that question a little most "honorable" : )

  • @luvemliam Watch the honorable Rev. James L. White video so you can receive your blessings.

  • @luvemliam Correct word you're not your. Just a pet peeve of mine.

  • @luvureally Just like a preacher to strain gnats and swallow camels....

  • @luvureally wah wah wah nobody fucking cares

  • You are crazy, he's Holland's best singer.

  • candy is so great

  • This version so kicks A**!!!

  • Let´s get it on make me cryyy ........

  • I love the way Moon Baker sweeps away the carpet under Roger Happel at 7:09. It's not to decide if it's in the arrangement, but it looks like he is flushing seriously when she suggest they go to the backyard.

  • Genial !!!!!

  • fantastique!!!!!!!

  • FABULOUS!!!!

  • Great ..Just Great!!

  • Candy jij bent voor mij de beste jazz Saxofonisten die er bestaat ik vind je super goed i love you

  • amazing so much energy! the whole band rules! jake

  • Candy is so fine I would drink her bath water!

  • dude...

  • Great singer...Roger Happel,the best !!!!

  • Not quite the best but he does ok for a mimick

  • soft, velvety

  • does somebody knows what guitar Ulco Bed is playing, it sounds amazing.

  • A fender strat of some sort. Probably not stock pickups.

  • Professional musicians don't play with stock pick ups or other.

  • Don't be silly. John Mayer has stock pickups in his SRV Signature and stock Big Dippers in his own Signature model that he plays occasionally.

    Don't make generalisations like that

  • Vocals are nowhere close to mr. Marvin Gaye though, i have to admit.. But the saxophone is beautiful

  • Beautiful... just beautiful.... This version did justice to the original.

  • brava e gaiarda......molto gaiarda.....

    candy dulfer...i love you @)-)---

  • I wished I could ever have a dirty talk like that in that wonderfull clean way they have.

And ofcorse I would die for playing sax like that ladygod does.

  • Candy Dulfer is one THE funkiest saxwomen I've heard. I was in Scandanavia years ago when "lily was here" was playing on the charts, and was very impressed. Her "funkability" has only grown since that time. Nice perfomance here.

  • is that john mayer on the guitar?

  • Nope, that's Ulco Bed from Amsterdam Holland....

  • no,but he looks a little bit like him

  • Check your eyes mate - How could you ever mistake Ulco Bed with John Mayer?

    He's awesome though.

  • loooool

  • die chick zingt fockeddd up! sorry chick haha

Roger got souuuuulll!!!een van de beste zangers van Nederland!!

  • Ulco Bed is a pretty awesome guitarist! Anyone got some info on him?

  • This is really really great. Great feel and wonderful voice from Happel. Probably the best version I've heard of this song. Great Stuff.

Btw. Does anyone know what ever happened to Candy's version of Brown Sugar? It was a while ago but now I can't find it. Does anyone have it or now wher I can find. Would be very greatful.

  • en dan vraag je je af of je ooit zo goed zal worde..

  • super interpretazione sublime

  • wat nou froger gordon or what ever!!!!!!!!!!!

dit is voor mij al jaren de beste zanger van nederland

  • Damn!

  • Awsome feel and rhythm by the band. Roger Happel is a real crooner and has some wonderful curves and tone to his voice. Nonetheless, if they tried to be themselves more rather than trying to sing "black" then I think this rendition of this motown classic would of sounded even better. Cany Dulfer is a soul diva and has the talent ability and "soulful struttin" to live with the very best. As for the female vocalist she kills this song

  • @wangavegas1 How are they trying to sound black? They are jazz singers and that is the way they sing. I hate it when people say singers try to sound black. I thought we were all so beyond race. This is music. How does race even come into play here.

  • @cooolness3 Here's the deal. For some, not all, the resentment comes from a history of being cheated out of the revenue from their music. From Elvis to Pat Boone to Jerry E. Lewis, some feel that based on racism the have been screwed over. So, when they see Whites playing their music, including Rap and Hip-Hop, it harkens back to that era. And, they also know that racism is not over in this world against Black people.

  • so so beautiful. The best version that I nener heard

  • yeaaaaaa....candy I can feel the funk!

lekker aant chillen met jou op achtergrond...da's pas relaxen...

  • So glad I stumbled acroos this video. That is as good as anything I've seen... and I've seen (and played with) a lot.

Love and gratitude from the U.S.

  • WOOHOOOOO!!! Yea baby, that's what I'm talking about!!!!

  • that guy singing is fantastic wooT!

  • vet nee supervet....lekker
