Judas Priest took the blues out of Heavy Metal completely and are one of the most respected and influential Heavy Metal bands of all time in a way they created Heavy Metal cause Black Sabbath still had blues in their music. Judas Priest made it sound METAL

@slashsappetite1965 Metal is the heaviest form of rock XD but you are right about the blues thing, They are trained in Classical aren't they? Led Zepplin created heavy rock and AC/DC is Hard Rock. Led Zepplin was actually considered the first metal band but they did not want that labeled on them so they called themselves Heavy Rock. Sabbath instead took due to Toni's missing finger tips which gave them an odd sound when he switched to the other hand on the neck.

It doesn't matter if these bands are modern metal or not. Judas Priest are Heavy Metal, the bands you mentioned are nu, black and some other genre of metal. So that other genres of metal have almost nothing to do with Heavy Metal. Just 'cause they're not Heavy doesn't mean that they suck. Oh yeah, and Linkin Park isn't metal.
