Well the exorcism's differ from the purchasing of indulgences in the sense that those looking to be exorcised are looking for help, and my understanding of these practices is that imam's tend to do it for free. (however, i'm not 100% about it.)

I think people should try and understand that possession is not what they have been conditioned to believe. Such aversions to saying Jesus is the Messiah or holy water or a cross are typical. You don't have to react as violently as this man did. I've seen many people who react with anger or fear upon seeing a cross and it is passed off as a regular emotion strangely enough. We have to cleanse ourselves through Christ and renew our souls in Christ by drinking and eating of Him. This is very real.
