socialism is not the same as communism comunism made the claim that it was put it really wasnt it was state run industry yes but true socialism no .socialism is a force of good in the world
So what your saying to me as a hard working individual is that no matter how hard i work i should get paid the same as that lazy sack of crap sittin in the corner?? Or that I have to work harder to pay your healthcare bills cause you dont want to pay them??? Thats basically what your saying in your "Socialism is good" statement. Well here let me explain something to you I am very educated, I served 8yrs in the military and I will be damned that I work my ass off so someone doesnt have to
@sgl49ers02 thats not socialism at least not all types of socialism u are referring to a type of socialism that only the ultra radical leftist asspire to and most of them are raadical christians not marxists or advicates of a mixed market ecconomy(mixed market is not marxist by the way)
@2skullscrushing oh really what about Norway and Denmark? It seems to with pretty good there as a matter of fact they have a higher standard of living then the US.
This fat sheboon baby factory welfare mom has never worked hard a day in her life so she doesn't appreciate anything. She wants people who actually work for a living to pay so she can stay fat and lazy. In a country that has real socialism/communism her fat ass would have to work and she wouldn't see anything in return. This just shows how ignorant these fat lipped monkeys are. The free ride is coming to an end bitch!
@ARBuilder1776 yeah right communism wasnt socialism she might have that point wrong as do u but socialism isnt wrong u are wrong and by the way there is a big difference between not wanting to contribute to society and not beening allowed to contribute and as far as socialism conining to a end bull shit socialism is on the rise my ignorant red neck pieace of shit in fact 3 out of 4 people in south america as well as canada and most of europe lol so fuck u
Socialism has never worked, and frankly it always ends bad, like millions of people being starved to death. The idiot liberals of today think that a few social programs in our country is socialism. its different with a republic as the government. I'm sick of ism's, myself. And you got capitalism wrong. its just a free market. each business can produce, sell as much or as little they want. it does work. look up coolidge, thats what Ron Paul is about.
And you contribute to the progression of this country HOW?
Stand back an look at the past achievements of your town, county, state, country.
Where do you come in ?? What did you do ? Do you think everybody's hard work is YOUR REWARDS? Your non-sense justification brain washes you to think it does. Use your God given brain and logic once.
I can't believe people can be this stupid, as to to say Communism is
GOOD. And about the health care, it really is only free for the very poor people. It runs off the tax payer's dollars and you saying that it helps more people. It actually makes it worse. You see when you have 50 people paying for regular health care you can get help. But when its "free" What happens is you get a ton of people flowing in and no one can get help. It may take you 3 months to get help. Just look at Canada.
Socialism is good? Good for who? Why don't we all just live off the government? We can just barrow off of China until they get sick of us and we can go down the toilet along with Greece, which by the way, socialism did NOT work for them. You know why? Because socialism doesn't work. People who work thier ass off are going to get tired of supporting the people who don't work thier asses off and reap every benifit.
@Laughingblades R u serious? Ever heard of Panhellenic Socialist Movement? Yeah has nothing to do with Socialism or Greece. I'm the moron that needs google? First of all, I never said Greece was a Socialist country. I said we can go down the toilet along with Greece. Greece's problem is the redistribution of wealth. Maybe you need to learn how to read, stupid mother F@cker!
@recyclecongress Most people who say that don't know what socialism is and favor feudal bondage disguised as choice. Choice between starvation and homelessness and dying in the gutter, or serving rich masters all your life.
Mondragon proves that Socialism can and does work, alternately social democracies are on average much healthier than ours.
@F00REX no socialism is not about what society can do for u but what u can do for society the type of socialism that works is mixed market and works best in an enlighten society
One of the differences between Liberalism-Capitalism and Socialism is with Capitalism people can make as much money as their Education, Skills, Intelligence and Production and the Market will bare. With Socialism people can only make as much money as the Government will allow. Capitalism is about Free Markets and Competition. Socialism is about Communitarianism and Monopoly not allowing people get too farther out then the rest of Population even if their Skills and Production are better.
Capitalism is not perfect but it is the most successful system ever tried. It provides the necessary capital to fund essential services to society. Socialism doesn't work at all and has failed everywhere its been tried. The only countries that have socialist governments today also are total dictatorships. The people aren't free. They can't travel without gov permission, own property, or speak freely. Try to criticize the gov in Cuba, NK, or China. Youll be arrested and jailed rather quickly.
@cobalt545 My country is a socialist country, also called a welfare state, because it focuses on egalitarianism. That's Denmark FYI. It's a part of Scandinavia, which are also social democratic countries. On a list of perceived corruption in the state, Denmark numbers as the 2nd least corrupted country in the world, followed by other Nordic countries. In comparison, the US ranks as number 24.
Denmark is doing well and has retained its AAA rating, despite S&P's wild downgrade spree.
@ThaDane Denmark also rates high in suicide, mental illness and depression. I guess you would need a welfare state in order to take care of all the mental invalids who have lost their minds or are to unhappy to leave their homes and contribute to the economy. Something is not quite right in the State of Denmark. And judging by your comments that socialism is good I would say you are one of the mentally ill. So please follow your other countymen and kill yourself. Good day, sir.
@cobalt545 And you jump straight to national attacks. That's real hardcore.
That aside, I won't say that it's not sad, but hey, nothing to do about that except taking care of those who are sick. As any civilized person should know, depression is considered a sickness not choice. About them staying home - it's better than incarcerating 1 percent of the population.
I'm not saying Denmark's perfect. I am saying Denmark is great without capitalism.
I do consider myself slightly insane, but I manage.
There is a hierarchy is socialism too. The elites have privelege and rights that YOU won't get. They can own and do things that YOU can't. Meanwhile, YOU will get the privelege of living in rundown government owned housing close to your government appointed job where you get paid next to nothing. And the universal healthcare you get is total crap. YOU will be put on a waiting list while those YOU serve will be pushed to the top of the list. You might get looked after if you are lucky.
No it doesn't, i know so because i live Denmark. You see socialism is great if you are on welfare, my dad pays 50% of his salary because of TAX, who does that money goes to, some fucking lazy assholes, who loves to spend the money of hard working people. You tell me everything free is good ?! I tell you everything free has no value. If the water was free, we would open the water faucets and never shut them ? That in my book is waste, too much money wasted in this stupid system.
You think socialism is good, but it will make you slaves. And "going out to third world countries" to help people is NOT liberal, muppet. Whatever your politics people do that.
When the government gives you everything, it TAKES AWAY. It gives power to those who promise the most freebies. It's anti-democratic and illiberal in the original sense. You don't know what capitalism is either. Ignorant woman.
look @Laughingblades, Denmark (don't know 'bout the other scandinavian countries) use a SOCIALIST form of capitalism. Like the state take care of health care, education etc. so you can't really say that we got brainwashed. In fact we've got a LEFT WING GOVERNMENT !
@MW2Coolwiller Capitalism is the private ownership of other people's labor, not the free market, not owning property, not being an indie artist or entrepreneur, it's a system of ownership falsely associated with the positives of a free market.
Socialism is nothing more than common ownership over the means of production, be that through a work place democracy, or through a state that is in theory (though rarely in practice) controlled by the people. Example watch?v=PFzjx2NJdNg

This is the problem with socialism and communism - there's no straight forward answer. It's all good saying 'controlled by the people', but in reality nothing is. It's all nationalised and everyone is oppressed!
to be blunt: you all need to either go back to govt and economics 101 or travel more to see that socialism actually works well with nations who offer it through basic human and civil necessities like healthcare and education as it supports human progress as a whole.
based on her weight she is lazy. I would never start a business with a socialist retard. Anyone that does not have the personal responsibility to take care of there health most likely does not have the sense to understand why socialism does not work. Why don't you go work hard and realize you are not entitled to anything
American's pay just as much taxes as socialist countries... the only difference is that we pay for stuff like wars for oil barons, bank bail-outs, etc. instead of receiving free health care, education, and housing for ALL the people. We're getting screwed royally and the right wing fanatics LOVE it; how stupid is that? As laughing blades said Norway, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and S.
Ireland are socialist countries and they are doing great. It's time to rethink things America
your whining is ridiculous, "they discriminate against race, gender, sexual orientation" everyone can find a job, most give up and mooch off the working class, btw, i worked with a black lesbian before so your argument is pure BS
Look at all the down votes, see? Clearly people trust in the invisible hand of economic social darwinism. Capitalism selects for whatever's best for business and surly that will be what's best for the common good of the people! Why, as successful businesses grow richer and more powerful to the point that they become governments unto themselves and overtake any standing governments in their region ensuring that their interests are represented first and foremost, that must be good for the people!
Stupid woman, don't you know that economic social darwinism is better that a society where the workers own business and the people own the state? Isn't it better that the old and disabled die if they aren't rich and can no longer obtain capital than for their survival to be ensured by the society that they've paid into their entire lives? And why should rich corporations ever have to give anything back to the societies that gave them the infrastructure and security necessary to be successful?
One of the problems with this country is that we have stupid a** people like this voting! She needs to shut the hell up, because she obviously has no idea what she is talking about. She needs to quit wasting my tax dollars, go get a job, and pay for her own housing, utilities, and health care. People who do not contribute anything, should not have an opinion at all! Congratulations America, this ignorant cow is living proof that we are breeding stupidity!
Capitalism gives people a direction. If you wanna sit on your ass & collect from SSI & welfare, then you sit home all day making u boob vids without knowing FACTS!Socialism DIED in the USSR... & this bitch should move to China & revoke her American Citizenship.
"Capitalist is about 'you work really hard, you get things'!?? Try working, and you'll see. Companies aren't entities of themselves--they are people, who created them, who run them, who hire people. Simple. Government can't "DO" anything in theory. WE do it. We give them our money, and put trust in them to protect us, not take care of us. They don't create jobs, we do. And by the way, there are plenty of communist and socialist countries. Why not move there? Why is everyone moving here? Think...
The main flagship of socialism is equality. Let me ask you something, if a person does not work and wants the same income as a small business entrepreneur, would you suggest they both get paid equal income?
Lower GPA and lower SAT's still ensure that blacks & hispanics get into college at 571 times the rate of whites & Asians. Yet they claim THEY are discriminated against? They feel they need to be taken care of by the hard working in this country? WHY? Get off your dead ass, take advantage of ALL the preferential treatment you get, WORK hard and you, too can get ahead. When you do, surely you'll LOVE giving 60-70% of your hard earned income to slouches like yourself who did nothing for it.
Fox news is one of the only stations that do not ONLY state how great Obama and his socialist ideals are. That's not bullshit, it is American. These two terms are on completely opposite sides of a broad spectrum.
People aren't turned down for jobs because of race, sex, or sexual orientation. They are discriminated against because of how they look! (Not skin color liberals). No matter what job you apply for, if you are not dressed in your Sunday clothes you will never be considered!
If you go to apply and don't have your own pen? You will not be considered!
Please stop playing the victim role. Drive and determination is apparent withen 7 seconds of saying: "Are you hiring?"
Stop being such a victim and take some personal responsibility for your circumstances. I can make an excuse that because I'm a straight, white, male, Christian that I am the most persecuted "class" of any of those groups that you listed...
Also, stop trying to steal your neighbors money and try getting a job and making money for yourself. Work is a good thing and if a lazy person doesn't want to work, they shouldn't eat. They shouldn't get a check for sitting on their lazy rear ends...
This woman has truly been indoctrinated by the public school system K - BA. From the victim mentality (she can't succeed because of racism), and class warfare (the rich are on top). Would she have liked living in the Soviet Union? I don't think so. What does she think built the American economy? She thinks the work ethic is stupid. She'd rather be a victim than work towards her goals. Socialism brings people together? Yes indeed, it makes everyone poor.
Yeah, Socialism is great ... as long as your the one who doesn't work and lives off the backs of the people who *do* work. ....Yeah, ain't that great?!?
If you think capitalism is so bad go live in Cuba or china or north Korea! Go see if people don't die from diseases over there every year! Where they have people living like slaves!!! Socialism is slavery!! It doesn't equal anything out!! What you need to do is go find a job and then tell me if socialism is so great when they take away like 10% of your paycheck! And if you do like that then I guess you like people taking money away from you to go kill a baby!! ( Abortion clinics)
@ernieman10 Those are communist countries and first off capitalism is no different of a dictatorship. We pick from 2 parties that have money and you don't. You vote for 2 parties with the same goals help the CEOs, Government politicians, and fat cats it's true and supported by facts. Learn your own form of politics before slapping another. I believe in democratically elected government with social economics.
As a person who lives in a social democratic society, I feel sorry for you guy's. Can you honestly say that universal healthcare, and free education is evil? A right to education, and a right to healthcare, are two basic human right's. It does not take away right's from you. If anything it empower's your society. The day America reform's it's currently deluded system, is when it will truly be a great nation.
Can you name a country where socialism has been good for them? What is the economic system that made America great?
Capitalism is great because you can work hard and earn money for that work. Socialism takes that right away and makes you give hard earned money to people who did not earn it. Is that fair???
How does discrimination make capitalism is wrong? There is discrimination in socialism too missy. Your arguments are flawed and lousy and completely lack regard for history.
@llihkoorb China, South America, Russia (economically) just to name a few can you name a country with Capitalism that doesn't have elites in control and 99 percent of the wealth in the hand of 1 percent of the people.
@NC910Killa The fact that there are elites means that capitalism works. People have the chance to earn FOR THEMSELVES a ton of money. That doesn't mean the other 99% are necessarily poor, the USA is a very prosperous country, it just means that the richest are super rich. Google "Zero Sum Economics"
@llihkoorb If you honestly think that having 99 percent of the wealth in the hands of 1 percent which if we reverse that means that billions of people hold on to 1 percent of the wealth is a good thing your CRAZY son and need your head checked out. All this brainwashing makes me hungry I better eat all I can before this world starts losing food too because of greed.
@llihkoorb Look all around you, the big business is killing the small business. I am a Democratic Socialist and I do believe in equality but no, I don't think Doctors and Garbage men should be payed the same.
@timmyjunior1 What is wrong with more efficient business putting less efficient business out of business? It creates jobs and helps people everyday. What computer do you type on? Car drive in? Guaranteed it is from a large company that has hundreds of thousands of workers (jobs). As long as they are ethical big business can be a really good thing. Don't remove people's incentive to be successful by punishing them.
@llihkoorb But it's nearly impossible to start a new business now because the larger businesses have the same product for cheaper. I also don't like 5% of our population controlling 95% of or $.
@timmyjunior1 that just means you need to be more creative and provide a better, different service or product. We all can't run Wal-Marts and copy each other. Get creative! Innovation pays. Talk to Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and the Google fellows. They didn't "invent" anything per say, they just did it different and better.
@llihkoorb Start a small business and see how long you last lol. It isn't easy and Imo it shouldn't be "easy" but it shouldn't be damn near impossible. I have nothing against wal-mart as a business or anything, they have every right to do what they do and I would even work there. It's just that I don't think we should let these business gain all control over the countries. I'm not for total control just limitations and for businesses like wal-mart, HUGE taxes.
Also, it is wrong to say that it is impossible, I know plenty of small businesses that have started up since 2011 and have continued going and will eventually take over the big business IF, and that is a big IF, the government does not intervene. You know how socialist always complain that big giants of the industry are hoarding all the wealth without any chance to the poor? That is Corporatism, not Capitalism and I Corporatism is something Capitalist hate as much as Socialist.
It is hard to start a small business. This statement is true, 9 out of 10 small businesses fail. But that is how great we are as human beings to overcome obstacles. We can make new products that beat current "big birds" and bring humanity to new thresholds. Think about it, if there were no entrepreneurs, and I do not mean entrepreneurs in the business sense but in the inventor sense, there would be no surpass and advancement of technology, medicine, sports, arts.
@llihkoorb people always love to turn to Norway and Sweden to say how "socialism works" even though a) They are becoming more right wing and are closer to liberalism than fuckin socialism and b) Their wealth comes from oil money, half of norway's pension plan is funded by oil revenues. Spread the word friend.
@llihkoorb Norway, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Southern Ireland. You have been brainwashed by capitalist propaganda to associate Socialism with tyranny and poverty, you've been trained by a steady dream of disinformation to have a knee jerk emotional reaction to the word, envisioning Orwellian images of Soviet Russia and North Korea. The truth is, Soviet Russia was a failed communist state and so is North Korea, socialist only in name.
@ishhyd What's sad is that his comment has 14 thumbs up even though I answered it by showing him no less than six examples of countries where socialism has been good for them, people pressed thumbs up because they thought his question was such a good argument.
If more people only knew about worker's cooperatives and understood that the increased taxes in socialist countries are a result of increased prosperity and the people democratically owning the state and making it work for the people.
@Laughingblades I live in Denmark, and I can tell you that social democracy is flawed as well. Here, it doesn't pay to work. I would have more money if I just accepted to go on welfare than if I were to have kept my old job. If you cannot see how that is flawed then I pity you. Now where I make approximately the same as a school teacher I pay almost half of everything I make in income taxes. On top of that, we have 25% value added taxes on everything, and more taxes on (to be continued)...
@BobcatSchneidermann That so? I know Danish people who say working's worth it because they make more money and can afford more stuff but even if what you say is true that's just a problem with how your economy is structured it's not a problem with social democracy. Hey you wanna trade places with me? Come over to America and have a corporate boot stamped on your face from birth to grave, knowing that when you're old or can't work there are people running for office on the platform that you die.
@BobcatSchneidermann :3 Sounds good, I hope you enjoy living in a dog eat dog cut throat economy rigged from the top down against workers and small business owners and enjoy getting shit all over by corporations who bribe and buy every politician (over paid prostitutes) with campaign contributions and massive lobbying. I also hope you like having rich social Darwinist who see you as a disposable commodity writing all the laws that effect you, and breaking them whenever they want.
@Laughingblades ... gas, saturated fat, tobacco, cars (180% on those) and alcohol. Fuck social democracy. Fuck people who want to decide what you drink, eat and so on.
@BobcatSchneidermann Yeah brah social darwinism is so great come live in America I'll gladly swap wit u, hell I'd be norwegian if I could have owned property there.
@Laughingblades The difference between Capitalism and socialism is two fold. Force VS Free will, and possession. In socialism, the means of production is possessed by the state. Capitalism, it is owned by the people. In socialism, you are FORCED to pay for others, in Capitalism it is a choice. Before capitalism the only way to amass great wealth was to loot, plunder or enslave. Capitalism enabled man to amass wealth by Serving man. Capitalism only works because there is a mutual benefit.
@Laughingblades The only reason it "works" in those countries is because people have accepted a lower standard of living. In america, we have to have the newest I-phone, the newest shoes, the newest Playstation, the biggest cars, The shiniest necklace. We are never satisfied. there is always more to be had. Even the poorest people have theses things. In those other countries, they dont have that luxury because 70 percent of their Income goes to the government. Also because of their small size.
@shoelessjoe2555 They have higher standards of living than you dumb Americans who fight to defend a system that funnels money to the top like the labor cattle you are.
@ForeverComplaining Socialism doesn't necessarily forbid the private sector, worker cooperatives are an example of socialist work places that compete along side the private sector, and state control of production isn't necessarily socialism, nor is socialism necessarily state control. State control over the means of production can also be State Capitalism or an Oligarchy or any number of other models under which States can seize power.
@Laughingblades I appreciate your trying to defend your views, but I'm going to be honest with you Norway and those countries are and will never be socialist.
Just because a political party is called 'socialist' doesn't actually mean it is. You do know that the nazi party was called something like 'the democratic socialist blah blah'
@Laughingblades I can understand what you're saying though - they like Britain (well in the 1940's for sure) desire a desire a welfare state, but they don't believe in any kind of state collectivisation.
I think they are social democratic, I think socialist is a big of an exaggeration personally, as sweden norway, and I'm sure the others too, have very strong private sectors and big businesses like IKEA etc.
@ForeverComplaining I think you confuse Socialism with Socialization. Libertarian Socialism for example is an example of Socialism without a State. There's a lot of Socialism in Norway, not just socialized state services.
:p Social Democracies can be socialist btw, in fact Socialism is pretty democratic by nature, in theory a Socialist State is supposed to be controlled by the people so means of production are commonly owned, socialism isn't incompatible with private sectors
@Laughingblades Well I'm not so sure about that BUT it's your view. I wanted to ask a question, when socialists and communists always say 'controlled by the people' what are they saying.
As obviously I do not advocate state ownership, I believe in power to the people (not just a small minority) BUT usually this 'controlled by the people' involves one man like Stalin with it all and every one else made to starve and work in awful conditions, with no opportunities or wealth.
@ForeverComplaining Stalin was a "communist" not a socialist, though in practice he wasn't even that. Stalin is the face western propaganda wants you associating with socialism, if you ever watch the propaganda reels they show to kids up through the 6'th grade.
The Bolshevik movement wanted a world wide social democratic revolution. The famine and poverty was the result of natural disaster and war not socialism, and Stalin had socialists who spoke out against him killed
@Laughingblades Oh I agree Stalin wasn't really a true communist, his regime was worse than capitalism. However, what I want to know is that what is 'controlled by the people'
as socialists always seem to avoid that one, I mean does it mean everyone owns a share in everything? and they make profit from that share.
Or does it mean it's owned by the state. As In my opinion, state ownership is far more worse than people owning corporations.
@ForeverComplaining Well, social democracy like the Bolshevik revolution set out to create before it got diverted by WW2 and suppressed by Stalin, I sort of answered that in the second paragraph of my last response.
You seem to have some funny ideas about what socialism implies. Socialism is common ownership over the means of production, either by the community or the workers themselves. State ownership is only legitimately socialism if the people are the state in Bolshevism
@Laughingblades You have not answered the question. 'controlled by the people'
please define it.
As what I think you are trying to say is that you would rather a regime like Stalin's Russia where you would rather the poor were poorer so long as the rich were less rich and I have complete contempt for starving anyone or depriving them of their land which got these farmers by.
What does 'controlled by the people mean' Nationalisation? explain.
It's no good saying 'controlled by the people' and then saying 'i hate stalin he fails' when you are supporting his ideology of nationalisation and dictator controlling everything!
@TheOther9666 That's what happens when Capitalism is in decline. Capitalism is an unsustainable system based on infinite growth, the defining characteristic is not the Free Market, free markets can be found in many systems. The defining characteristic of Capitalism is the private ownership & control of the workplace & means of production for the profits of business owners.
What that means is the workers are disposable resources to be extracted & the money gets sucked to the top
@Laughingblades Ugh, people love to playthe class game. Yes, there are some snobby rich old farts, but you what a lot of those rich people do? INVEST. Businesses become successful and grow, which creates JOBS. As to workers becoming disposible an taken advantage of, thats up to the conscience of the business owner. There have been some crooked businessmen, but tere have been many good ones as well. While I believe there does need to be some business regulation, it needs to be minimal.
@TheOther9666 The wealthy are well aware of class, only the poor hold delusions of a classless society. There are haves and have nots, capitalism is based on such a system.
Capitalism is the ownership and control of the workplace and means of production by the capitalist, the capitalist owns other people's labor and holds power over their income and ability to sustain themselves. In a capitalist society your choice is between which master to serve & only the ones who will have you
@Laughingblades The employer still has obligations to their employees. Yes, there are haves and have nots. But can't you see that in capitalism everyone has the oppootunity to become great? Andrew Carnegie started from the dirtiest of the poorest of the poor, and he became one of the most successful businessmen of his time. (yes, he lost sights of the value of his workers, but he was by no means an evil man.) In socialism, everything is collective, and the lazies pull the rest down.
@TheOther9666 You mean civil rights and worker rights, obligations they are trying very hard to convince the workers themselves to abolish in the name of "anarcho capitalism" which, despite destroying all barriers to outsourcing and all civil rights, will somehow make everything better.
That everyone has the opportunity is a lie, in capitalism money is power and most people will never have any chance, and those who have potential will be devoured by corporations.
@Laughingblades Yes, everyone does have an opportunity. If you leave the free enterprise system alone, it runs much more smoothly. Capitalism is not about greed, its about smart, profitable business decisions. Humanitarianism doesn't have to be left out either; I'm all for worker's rights and neccessary regulations.
The problem with Socialism is that it's idealistic, it assumes everyone is the same, which in reality, is not true. Can you name any utopias that have truely prospered?
@TheOther9666 The opportunity is a lie, the choice most are given is to serve a capitalist or die in the gutter, those with potential are typically fed upon by the capitalists, exploited for their talent like the human commodities capitalism reduces everyone else to, no it doesn't run smoothly not when capitalism is involved.
You've been lied to, Capitalism is not the free enterprise system, capitalists typically seeks to destroy it and rig the market in whatever way they can.
@TheOther9666 And again, Mondragon proves you wrong, and calls you an idiot. You're the one being the idealist, not me, because you're expecting a system designed to grant all the power to business owners and reduce everyone else to workers at the mercy of their employers, a system that by design and intent automatically siphons the money up to the top, to the business owners, and away from everyone else, to work.
@Laughingblades You still didn't answer my question, you just turned it back on me. Capitalis isnt perfect, but its better than you lifeless socialism. Ou constitution was specically designed NOT to allow the people TOO much authority, b/c if mob mentality takes over, theres no telling what could happen.
Capitalism isn't idealist, it's rational. People in the U.S. are not slaves to their employers, I've never meet seone who says they feel that way.
@TheOther9666 That's good, because I'm a statist, though I'm glad you acknowledge the utility of the state, after all, the feudal tyranny that is capitalism could not exist without it. Capitalists would simply hoard all the wealth and become the state, there would be no need to bribe senators and slowly corrupt governments over the course of years until both parties served the will of banks and corporations above all else.
@TheOther9666 Also Mondragon proves you wrong, in a syndicalist socialist society everyone has a say in the work place, everyone gets paid according to the profits they bring to the work place and what everyone agrees is fair, people work harder because they have a bigger stake in the success or failure of the company, if they work harder they make more money, the better their company does, the better their family does.
Socialism turns greed into a socially productive quality.
Your arguments are flawed and lousy and completely lack regard for history.
yu go girl!! socialism IS good, and the sooner we get in here in the USA the better!! its time to show the greedy rich that they are no better than the bricklayer!!! amen!!
@davidandhaylee2 but the thing u socialist fail to realize is that there still is going to be that "greedy rich" people except they will have governmental authoritative power who controls everything thing (dont just think its an economic situation, everything will eventually be influenced by socialism in socitey) instead of some jackass CEO who plays golf 7 days a week at his country club who tech. cant to shit to your well being as a human being....sorry with common sense id choose option 2.
@MissKamBerry The FOX clip you reference was ridiculous and I don't agree with Huckabee or Voight on many issues. The mainstream Republicans and Democrats hardly differ. They are both for big government. The argument for smaller government is to prevent abuse. i.e.We could have had more alternative energy sources had the government not subsidized oil. Socialism, communism, and corporatism are all the same. They are big government. Give the power back to the people, through smaller government!
Capitalism without regulation is a slaughter house. Regulation without morals and ethics is an even worse slaughter house. The US government creates BOGUS policies that is rubbing off on the world in a negative way. The solution to the problem is quite simple and lucrative... TAXATION... I believe in a taxation by donation system based off of the barter/trade system. Those with debts need to be held accountable by completing community service.
Everything you have said that people can not do under capitalism, I have done. I started at the very bottom of this "hierarchy" that you have mentioned and have nearly made it to the top of the work place. I started at minimum wage, I got a promotion, and many more, due to my work ethic which people have failed to grasp in this country. I had no help from anyone, not from friends, family or welfare, and now I am at the top, the evil rich man that you scorn for being successful through devotion
Young lady you need to read America's Thirty Year War by Valint Vazsonyi. You say Capitalism is a hierarchy. What is Socialism? You keep looking for a "job" young lady. Believe the lie that you cannot own a business that you are somehow being held back by society and not you own flawed beliefs. Grow up and step outside YOUR BUBBLE! Angelina would not have the ability (read money and freedom) to travel and help those in need if she did not enjoy the fruits of capitalism! "You know"?
Although the way you put things was a bit crude and could use a little more research into the ideology and put more in a literary sense (which I could help you with), the very basic idea and concept of what you were saying is actually absolutely correct. :-) I salute you.
Someones knowledge of socialism and communism didnt go much further than Stalin's propaganda posters have you? Making money really isnt that hard. When i was i high school a farm needed labor in the summer so i got a job and made pretty good money as a student, after high school i got a factory job....ya the job sucks but the moneys good. all you did was spout the same liberal bull shit we hear on msnbc how about you go read a book by someone who came from the USSR on how it was like for them
At 0:14 How does going out and helping people in 3rd world countries make you a liberal? Since I know this statement is not supported by statistics, I'd like to know what supports this statement. Thanks
I'm a far rightwing cracker, and even though you and I are polar opposites, I think you turn me on. You and I could be close for an hour or two and forget our views. That's what matters. Normally big isn't my thang, but you send me!
this has got to be the most absurd bullshit I have ever wasted 4 minutes of my life listening to. Why is it that MOST people who believe this crap are the ones who have nothing and sit on their ass most of the time? My grandfather always said to me "work real hard and save your money" and he lives by that and he owns his own business, from the ground up, he worked very hard to build that business and has been very successful. He loves what he does. Socialism wouldnt provide this opportunity.
@msdanielle429 Dear I lived in a socialist state (yugoslavia) my grandfather used to say the same things. .. and socialism did provide to sooo many people the same opportunity ... the main reason for your opinion about socialism stands in the history books in the fifties somebody was profiting from the cold war ... in order to do so they had to bring american people on there side ... or why is it that you hate so much socialism like no other system and dont have even a real reason why ..
socialism is not the same as communism comunism made the claim that it was put it really wasnt it was state run industry yes but true socialism no .socialism is a force of good in the world

We can just barrow off of China until they get sick of us and we can go down the toilet along with Greece, which by the way, socialism did NOT work for them. You know why? Because socialism doesn't work. People who work thier ass off are going to get tired of supporting the people who don't work thier asses off and reap every benifit.

One of the differences between Liberalism-Capitalism and Socialism is with Capitalism people can make as much money as their Education, Skills, Intelligence and Production and the Market will bare. With Socialism people can only make as much money as the Government will allow. Capitalism is about Free Markets and Competition. Socialism is about Communitarianism and Monopoly not allowing people get too farther out then the rest of Population even if their Skills and Production are better.
jackram2h2 2 months ago
Capitalism is not perfect but it is the most successful system ever tried. It provides the necessary capital to fund essential services to society. Socialism doesn't work at all and has failed everywhere its been tried. The only countries that have socialist governments today also are total dictatorships. The people aren't free. They can't travel without gov permission, own property, or speak freely. Try to criticize the gov in Cuba, NK, or China. Youll be arrested and jailed rather quickly.
cobalt545 2 months ago
@cobalt545 My country is a socialist country, also called a welfare state, because it focuses on egalitarianism. That's Denmark FYI. It's a part of Scandinavia, which are also social democratic countries. On a list of perceived corruption in the state, Denmark numbers as the 2nd least corrupted country in the world, followed by other Nordic countries. In comparison, the US ranks as number 24.
Denmark is doing well and has retained its AAA rating, despite S&P's wild downgrade spree.
Good day, sir
ThaDane 1 month ago
@ThaDane Denmark also rates high in suicide, mental illness and depression. I guess you would need a welfare state in order to take care of all the mental invalids who have lost their minds or are to unhappy to leave their homes and contribute to the economy. Something is not quite right in the State of Denmark. And judging by your comments that socialism is good I would say you are one of the mentally ill. So please follow your other countymen and kill yourself. Good day, sir.
cobalt545 1 month ago

Laughingblades 5 months ago
Stupid woman, don't you know that economic social darwinism is better that a society where the workers own business and the people own the state? Isn't it better that the old and disabled die if they aren't rich and can no longer obtain capital than for their survival to be ensured by the society that they've paid into their entire lives? And why should rich corporations ever have to give anything back to the societies that gave them the infrastructure and security necessary to be successful?

Capitalism is great because you can work hard and earn money for that work. Socialism takes that right away and makes you give hard earned money to people who did not earn it. Is that fair???
How does discrimination make capitalism is wrong? There is discrimination in socialism too missy. Your arguments are flawed and lousy and completely lack regard for history.

@NC910Killa The fact that there are elites means that capitalism works. People have the chance to earn FOR THEMSELVES a ton of money. Don't remove people's incentive to be successful by punishing them.
llihkoorb 7 months ago
@llihkoorb But it's nearly impossible to start a new business now because the larger businesses have the same product for cheaper. I also don't like 5% of our population controlling 95% of or $.
timmyjunior1 7 months ago
@timmyjunior1 that just means you need to be more creative and provide a better, different service or product. We all can't run Wal-Marts and copy each other. Get creative! Innovation pays. Talk to Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and the Google fellows. They didn't "invent" anything per say, they just did it different and better.
llihkoorb 6 months ago
@llihkoorb Start a small business and see how long you last lol. It isn't easy and Imo it shouldn't be "easy" but it shouldn't be damn near impossible. I have nothing against wal-mart as a business or anything, they have every right to do what they do and I would even work there. It's just that I don't think we should let these business gain all control over the countries. I'm not for total control just limitations and for businesses like wal-mart, HUGE taxes.
timmyjunior1 6 months ago
@timmyjunior1

Hi timmyjunior1,
It is hard to start a small business.

BobcatSchneidermann 4 months ago
@BobcatSchneidermann That so? I know Danish people who say working's worth it because they make more money and can afford more stuff but even if what you say is true that's just a problem with how your economy is structured it's not a problem with social democracy. Hey you wanna trade places with me? Come over to America and have a corporate boot stamped on your face from birth to grave, knowing that when you're old or can't work there are people running for office on the platform that you die.
Laughingblades 4 months ago
@Laughingblades Damn right I'd switch. Moving to Denver, Colorado when I have saved a little money up to start with.

Laughingblades 4 months ago
@BobcatSchneidermann That is, I say I hope you do, but we both know you ain't Danish :3

@Laughingblades ... gas, saturated fat, tobacco, cars (180% on those) and alcohol. Fuck social democracy. Fuck people who want to decide what you drink, eat and so on.
Social Democracy does not fucking work.

Capitalism only works because there is a mutual benefit.
shoelessjoe2555 4 months ago
@shoelessjoe2555 Capitalism is wage slavery to a bureaucracy based on the illusion of choice you stupid work cow.
Laughingblades 4 months ago
@Laughingblades The only reason it "works" in those countries is because people have accepted a lower standard of living. In america, we have to have the newest I-phone, the newest shoes, the newest Playstation, the biggest cars, The shiniest necklace. We are never satisfied. there is always more to be had. Even the poorest people have theses things. In those other countries, they dont have that luxury because 70 percent of their Income goes to the government. Also because of their small size.
shoelessjoe2555 4 months ago
@shoelessjoe2555 They have higher standards of living than you dumb Americans who fight to defend a system that funnels money to the top like the labor cattle you are.
Laughingblades 4 months ago
@Laughingblades Is this a joke? Sure, Norway had a progressive income tax and an extended welfare state, but they have a strong private sector.
In socialism, no private sector exists, and the means of production are controlled by the state.
ForeverComplaining 3 months ago
@ForeverComplaining Socialism doesn't necessarily forbid the private sector, worker cooperatives are an example of socialist work places that compete along side the private sector, and state control of production isn't necessarily socialism, nor is socialism necessarily state control. State control over the means of production can also be State Capitalism or an Oligarchy or any number of other models under which States can seize power.
Laughingblades 3 months ago
@Laughingblades I appreciate your trying to defend your views, but I'm going to be honest with you Norway and those countries are and will never be socialist.
Just because a political party is called 'socialist' doesn't actually mean it is. You do know that the nazi party was called something like 'the democratic socialist blah blah'
they were anything but!
ForeverComplaining 3 months ago
@ForeverComplaining Norway has a lot of socialism, in fact, one of the most successful IT companies in the world is a socialist Norwegian company.
Why u commit Godwin's law?
Laughingblades 3 months ago
@Laughingblades I can understand what you're saying though - they like Britain (well in the 1940's for sure) desire a desire a welfare state, but they don't believe in any kind of state collectivisation.
I think they are social democratic, I think socialist is a big of an exaggeration personally, as sweden norway, and I'm sure the others too, have very strong private sectors and big businesses like IKEA etc.
ForeverComplaining 3 months ago
@ForeverComplaining I think you confuse Socialism with Socialization. Libertarian Socialism for example is an example of Socialism without a State. There's a lot of Socialism in Norway, not just socialized state services.
:p Social Democracies can be socialist btw, in fact Socialism is pretty democratic by nature, in theory a Socialist State is supposed to be controlled by the people so means of production are commonly owned, socialism isn't incompatible with private sectors
Laughingblades 3 months ago
@Laughingblades Well I'm not so sure about that BUT it's your view. I wanted to ask a question, when socialists and communists always say 'controlled by the people' what are they saying.
As obviously I do not advocate state ownership, I believe in power to the people (not just a small minority) BUT usually this 'controlled by the people' involves one man like Stalin with it all and every one else made to starve and work in awful conditions, with no opportunities or wealth.
ForeverComplaining 3 months ago
@ForeverComplaining Stalin was a "communist" not a socialist, though in practice he wasn't even that. Stalin is the face western propaganda wants you associating with socialism, if you ever watch the propaganda reels they show to kids up through the 6'th grade.
The Bolshevik movement wanted a world wide social democratic revolution. The famine and poverty was the result of natural disaster and war not socialism, and Stalin had socialists who spoke out against him killed
Laughingblades 3 months ago
@Laughingblades Oh I agree Stalin wasn't really a true communist, his regime was worse than capitalism. However, what I want to know is that what is 'controlled by the people'
as socialists always seem to avoid that one, I mean does it mean everyone owns a share in everything? and they make profit from that share.
Or does it mean it's owned by the state. As In my opinion, state ownership is far more worse than people owning corporations.
ForeverComplaining 3 months ago
@ForeverComplaining Well, social democracy like the Bolshevik revolution set out to create before it got diverted by WW2 and suppressed by Stalin, I sort of answered that in the second paragraph of my last response.
You seem to have some funny ideas about what socialism implies. Socialism is common ownership over the means of production, either by the community or the workers themselves. State ownership is only legitimately socialism if the people are the state in Bolshevism
Laughingblades 3 months ago
@Laughingblades You have not answered the question. 'controlled by the people'
please define it.
As what I think you are trying to say is that you would rather a regime like Stalin's Russia where you would rather the poor were poorer so long as the rich were less rich and I have complete contempt for starving anyone or depriving them of their land which got these farmers by.
ForeverComplaining 2 months ago
@ForeverComplaining You're obviously just trolling, as I clearly have answered the question and anyone can see that.
Social Democracy
Done
Laughingblades 2 months ago
@Laughingblades I am not trolling, and that is no answer.
You can't just say 'social democracy'.
What does 'controlled by the people mean' Nationalisation? explain.
It's no good saying 'controlled by the people' and then saying 'i hate stalin he fails' when you are supporting his ideology of nationalisation and dictator controlling everything!

@Laughingblades Really? So massive deficit spending, increasing debt to china, and driving away business creates prosperity?
TheOther9666 3 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 That's what happens when Capitalism is in decline. Capitalism is an unsustainable system based on infinite growth, the defining characteristic is not the Free Market, free markets can be found in many systems. The defining characteristic of Capitalism is the private ownership & control of the workplace & means of production for the profits of business owners.
What that means is the workers are disposable resources to be extracted & the money gets sucked to the top
Laughingblades 3 weeks ago
@Laughingblades Ugh, people love to playthe class game. Yes, there are some snobby rich old farts, but you what a lot of those rich people do? INVEST. Businesses become successful and grow, which creates JOBS. As to workers becoming disposible an taken advantage of, thats up to the conscience of the business owner. There have been some crooked businessmen, but tere have been many good ones as well. While I believe there does need to be some business regulation, it needs to be minimal.
TheOther9666 3 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 Thats also another good reason America needs to remember it was founded as a Christian nation, and there is higher authority.
TheOther9666 3 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 The wealthy are well aware of class, only the poor hold delusions of a classless society. There are haves and have nots, capitalism is based on such a system.
Capitalism is the ownership and control of the workplace and means of production by the capitalist, the capitalist owns other people's labor and holds power over their income and ability to sustain themselves. In a capitalist society your choice is between which master to serve & only the ones who will have you
Laughingblades 2 weeks ago
@Laughingblades The employer still has obligations to their employees. Yes, there are haves and have nots. But can't you see that in capitalism everyone has the oppootunity to become great? Andrew Carnegie started from the dirtiest of the poorest of the poor, and he became one of the most successful businessmen of his time. (yes, he lost sights of the value of his workers, but he was by no means an evil man.) In socialism, everything is collective, and the lazies pull the rest down.
TheOther9666 2 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 You mean civil rights and worker rights, obligations they are trying very hard to convince the workers themselves to abolish in the name of "anarcho capitalism" which, despite destroying all barriers to outsourcing and all civil rights, will somehow make everything better.
That everyone has the opportunity is a lie, in capitalism money is power and most people will never have any chance, and those who have potential will be devoured by corporations.
Laughingblades 2 weeks ago
@Laughingblades Yes, everyone does have an opportunity. If you leave the free enterprise system alone, it runs much more smoothly. Capitalism is not about greed, its about smart, profitable business decisions. Humanitarianism doesn't have to be left out either; I'm all for worker's rights and neccessary regulations.
The problem with Socialism is that it's idealistic, it assumes everyone is the same, which in reality, is not true. Can you name any utopias that have truely prospered?
TheOther9666 2 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 The opportunity is a lie, the choice most are given is to serve a capitalist or die in the gutter, those with potential are typically fed upon by the capitalists, exploited for their talent like the human commodities capitalism reduces everyone else to, no it doesn't run smoothly not when capitalism is involved.
You've been lied to, Capitalism is not the free enterprise system, capitalists typically seeks to destroy it and rig the market in whatever way they can.
Laughingblades 2 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 And again, Mondragon proves you wrong, and calls you an idiot. You're the one being the idealist, not me, because you're expecting a system designed to grant all the power to business owners and reduce everyone else to workers at the mercy of their employers, a system that by design and intent automatically siphons the money up to the top, to the business owners, and away from everyone else, to work.
Capitalism doesn't work, capitalism always fails. Mondragon works.
Laughingblades 2 weeks ago

@Laughingblades You still didn't answer my question, you just turned it back on me. Capitalis isnt perfect, but its better than you lifeless socialism. Ou constitution was specically designed NOT to allow the people TOO much authority, b/c if mob mentality takes over, theres no telling what could happen.
Capitalism isn't idealist, it's rational. People in the U.S. are not slaves to their employers, I've never meet seone who says they feel that way.
And what the heck is Mondragon?
TheOther9666 2 weeks ago
@Laughingblades I am in no way, shape, or form in favor or anarchy by the way.
TheOther9666 2 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 That's good, because I'm a statist, though I'm glad you acknowledge the utility of the state, after all, the feudal tyranny that is capitalism could not exist without it. Capitalists would simply hoard all the wealth and become the state, there would be no need to bribe senators and slowly corrupt governments over the course of years until both parties served the will of banks and corporations above all else.
Laughingblades 2 weeks ago
@TheOther9666 Also Mondragon proves you wrong, in a syndicalist socialist society everyone has a say in the work place, everyone gets paid according to the profits they bring to the work place and what everyone agrees is fair, people work harder because they have a bigger stake in the success or failure of the company, if they work harder they make more money, the better their company does, the better their family does.
Socialism turns greed into a socially productive quality.
Laughingblades 2 weeks ago
Can you name a country where socialism has been good for them? What is the economic system that made America great?
Capitalism is great because you can work hard and earn money for that work. Socialism takes that right away and makes you give hard earned money to people who did not earn it. Is that fair???
How does discrimination make capitalism is wrong? There is discrimination in socialism too missy. Your arguments are flawed and lousy and completely lack regard for history.

@davidandhaylee2 but the thing u socialist fail to realize is that there still is going to be that "greedy rich" people except they will have governmental authoritative power who controls everything thing (dont just think its an economic situation, everything will eventually be influenced by socialism in socitey) instead of some jackass CEO who plays golf 7 days a week at his country club who tech. cant to shit to your well being as a human being....sorry with common sense id choose option 2.
tnable182 8 months ago
@MissKamBerry The FOX clip you reference was ridiculous and I don't agree with Huckabee or Voight on many issues. The mainstream Republicans and Democrats hardly differ. They are both for big government. The argument for smaller government is to prevent abuse. i.e.We could have had more alternative energy sources had the government not subsidized oil. Socialism, communism, and corporatism are all the same. They are big government. Give the power back to the people, through smaller government!
LiveFreeorDieGuy 9 months ago
Capitalism without regulation is a slaughter house. Regulation without morals and ethics is an even worse slaughter house. The US government creates BOGUS policies that is rubbing off on the world in a negative way. The solution to the problem is quite simple and lucrative... TAXATION... I believe in a taxation by donation system based off of the barter/trade system. Those with debts need to be held accountable by completing community service.
Unrealll6666 10 months ago
Everything you have said that people can not do under capitalism, I have done. I started at the very bottom of this "hierarchy" that you have mentioned and have nearly made it to the top of the work place. I started at minimum wage, I got a promotion, and many more, due to my work ethic which people have failed to grasp in this country. I had no help from anyone, not from friends, family or welfare, and now I am at the top, the evil rich man that you scorn for being successful through devotion
DavidRearden 10 months ago

:-) I salute you.

this has got to be the most absurd bullshit I have ever wasted 4 minutes of my life listening to. Socialism wouldnt provide this opportunity.
msdanielle429 1 year ago 10
@msdanielle429 Dear I lived in a socialist state (yugoslavia) my grandfather used to say the same things. .. and socialism did provide to sooo many people the same opportunity ... the main reason for your opinion about socialism stands in the history books in the fifties somebody was profiting from the cold war ... in order to do so they had to bring american people on there side ... or why is it that you hate so much socialism like no other system and dont have even a real reason why ..
