One video of one empty road in the outback of the Alps doesn't mean there are no people on the road in Europe. My daily commute tells me otherwise, it takes almost 3 hours to cover the 12 miles to our capital.

@alf8776 Totally agree and neither do I, but had no choice but to remove the exhaust note sound (which is quite amazing) due to unusable wind noise.

Some nice memories - thanks for shooting, editing and posting. The Stelvio at dusk, huh? Good technique for getting it without hordes of other cars, trucks, biukes, campers, road maintenance vehicles and cyclists. I did mine very early in the morning, but your footage was mnore picturesque. Nice job!

steering wheel is to far from you. If rear tires loose grip, you cant furl steering wheel fast enough. forearm in relation to the upper arm should be at 90 degree. just my 2c.

Excellent video, great picture quality. camera on the roof representing the best car speed in relation to the environment.

you, my friend, have experienced what is my goal in the next year or so... Wonderfully recorded and put together. I recently got back from my trip to Deal's Gap here in the US (and all the surrounding mountains), and while the roads were great, their views in comparison to the alps is honestly bleak... Two thumbs up

I saw a bug at one point. Did you use any type of cover to protect the lens or just let whatever happen to hit it hit it and clean it later?

I've got this lens from B&H on the way along with a T2i so I'm checking out vids of how people are using this lens and this is by FAR my favorite but would be scared of flying rocks or bugs.

@FastRedPonyCar Yeah, bugs were a big problem (had to throw out a lot of footage due to em), but since the camera was on the roof, rocks weren't a problem... and this is the only lens in my collection without a filter since it's impractical due to the front element. I cleaned the lens asap I stopped before they dried up. It sucks, but a necessary sacrifices for a worthwhile footage

Can the Gripper 3025 keep camera, while driving faster than 120mph, and accelerating under 3 second to 60mph?

@WhiTEAnDrEd18 yeah, it worked quite well even at 150mph on the autobahn, but the wind caused too much vibration on the camera to get any useful footage. I also had the camera strap pulled in from the moonroof and tied inside... just in case the suction cup mount failed.

@davem3fan haha, yeah I had to pay a arm and a leg to pay off the cops, jk. Most of these mountain passes weren't really used since there were larger parallel roads/turnnels built to bypass these, and most of the drives were in a weekday.
