@Demon5I7 No they may have the man power, but you gotta remember. ALL of western Europe + America = Russia out gunned, and even with all those countries the manpower would equal Russia's. Yes Russia is HUGE but so is Western Europe, there is no way they could have won, the deck is stacked against them.

You cannot use it for conquest (you destroy the enemy, the territory, the enviroment, everything) and if you use it for defense (as shown in wic) it's as a last, absolutly desperate option of avoiding a greater disaster. Nuclear weapons only work for stoping killing asteroids and stoping more world wars. You see, in wic, even with a world war, nato and russians don't use nuclear weapons. They're just too terrifying

I dont think we can honestly find out who would win the Warsaw pact vs NATO engagment, only that europe would never be the same again.

Especially since parts of NATO pretty much realised it was a huge missmatch in terms of strength, hence NATO for units in germany being effectivly speedbumps. Speedbumbs with suicide missions, like how the RAF was given the job of one way missions against forward airbases.
