I really want to go to somewhere in Europe because I work in Asia now but its so funny now. THese Europeans are trying to move to my country, the USA. I guess things are worse than I thought they were in that part of the world. If I go back to the USA I am safe with a house and land my father built for me and also my family has been in the usa for hundreds of years, so America is home but I am not ready to go back yet. I still want to find work in another country.

I think it is great for the younger generation to go abroad to try working and living in new places. So many doors and opportunities will open up for them. I studied in Athens for 3 years Hotel Management coming from Canada. Studying abroad and working abroad gives you more than you think. The world is your oyster and if you want it, you can have it!

Kids today have unrealistic expectations about work.They think theyll become a manager making 100K out of school. In the US something like 30% of college grads never worked a job before graduating. America and a lot of EU countries have become mouchers-budgers who's rather live on the dole than take a job "beneath:" them , later they complain about immigrants taking jobs.

These kids are totally misinformed about what they will find abroad and about how a career progresses these days. I asked my freinds before I returned to Greece 2 years ago "Are there jobs?". One of them told me "I cant find enough employees" "If you want to work hard, there are jobs.. if you want to sit on yor ass and be a manager at 25, no, there are no jobs for you" These kids are gonna have to accept that a college degree is no guarentee. You have to hustle in this life. Deal with it.

Gee, too many youth are mislead or delusional. Most of the time life is not about what you like. It's about what you can do to support yourself and your life style. Most of the time life is about suffering and sacrifice.

@overseachininadoll YOU ARE VERY CORRECT! OK, I dont believe life is about suffering, but work is work, nowhere is life easy, only if born rich, then it dont matter where you live.

I am 35.. 17 years ago I faced the same situation this kid describes. Thats how its been in Greece for 50 years now, nothing has changed because of the so called economic crisis. I predict 95% of these kids will come home running within a decade. Thats always how it went, same for my generation, same for this one.
