dude u have no idea how much ive learnt from tutvids tuts.... I started with cs4 a few days ago cos i only used fireworks nd never found the need to use other programs.... nw in 3 days ive learnt so much shit its not even funny.... thanx mate ur tuts are awsome... better then alot of other ones ive seen keep it up :)

Just what I needed. While the canned flvplayback skins work great w/fullscreen, it wasn't until I'd finally gotten a custom control set perfect that the overlay-kidnapping with mere-mortal buttons became apparent. Good job packing in the essentials, perfect!

i just want to say that you are very knowedgable, but your not a good teacher you speak so quickly...and you can't see your mouse and you um and aaaaa so often you cause people to lose attention...i like your videos, but i wouldn't buy them.. and i need to buy a training dvd for a cs4 master set.

You should watch his other videos. I think you have a learning disability because this guy is the best at tutorials on the web, I've watched hundreds. I've never found somebody so easy to understand and with such quality and extra knowledge. He gives you shortcuts, multiple ways to achieve the same effect, and has an easy going voice AND he doesnt use a mic with static in the background. I hate that.

Great vid.... but I have come across an issue...

I have buttons rotating in and out, when you click "full screen" it changes to "normal screen".... When the buttons are hit everything is fine but if I hit ESC... No... I made a : KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN but it doesn't take it, only after it returns...

Help?

basically, I made 33 buttons, put them on separate keyframes on the same layer, in the same position so that they look like One button that can be clicked to change to all of the different shapes. I want to duplicate this "Button" how can I duplicate this compound button, so that the duplicates are unique from each other??

I need help..

Making a simple game in flash.

the game is made up of square tiles.

I basically made all pieces into buttons that lie ontop of each other so that when you click it, it changes to the next piece. the problem is that i need to duplicate this clickable square piece to make a 10x10 game board, where you can click any of these 100 identical "buttons" and have them interact independently. Working in Flash MX 2004.

any suggestions?

hehe, nah I will only use the HD for my shorter stuff (under 10 minutes). I don't want to go over the new size limit and dealing wit 20+ minutes of 1280x720 video can just take more time as far as exporting and compressing the file. For the smaller stuff I definitely want to use it though. Thanks for the comment...

I use a program called Screen Virtuoso, but I recommend My Screen Recorder, I used it for a few years, but things got a little "complicated" and I had to switch. My Screen Recorder is the best and easiest I have used.

if you have CS4 you can switch to Action Script 3.0 I know it's a little different but if you follow the video you'll do fine :P
