What this movie also doesn't mention is when Athens and Sparta unite after they defeat Persia and have a war with each other. What I am ultimateley getting to is Alexander the great who later comes up after the war between Athens and Sparta and he fuckin rapes the persians a second time around and he marches his greek army all the way to mother fuckin India.

The only change would have been the abolition of slavery (helots in Lakedaemonia) and the payment of taxes. You europeans wish to believe that democracy was saved but it wasn't because it was never in danger.

The only change would have been the abolition of slavery (helots in Lakedaemonia) and the payment of taxes. Sparta would have still been ruled by a tyrant (Leonidas) and athens would still have had its democracy. You europeans wish to believe that democracy was saved but it wasn't because it was never in danger.

Note that Greeks, Mexicans etc usually try to immitate an accent (american, british) of english when they learn the language. Also, there are a lot of problems with such accents, as a Greek e.g. cannot pronounce differently the words beat-bit. The result would be completely funny for both a Greek and English man.

Sparta had two kings and their duties were mainly as generals and religious figureheads. There was a general assembly called the apella that was made up of all spartiate men and they voted on issues. The gerousia, an assembly of 28 elders ( over 60yrs) voted by the apella ( for life) and the two kings; they brought up legislation. and finally the ephors,
