seeing and knowing things like this happens does open ur eyes to what people go are going through in the world. i sometimes wonder is it right to put people into dangerous sport. Schools really seem to pressure people into dangerous sports.

@1982FMJ Honestly it is normal to want to place blame SOMEWHERE when you see a young, handsome vibrant kid's life destroyed like this

BUT, as someone who played/enjoys watching football I can honestly tell you most boys in the US want to play,love to play, and really savor playing. It is the most popular/respected/loved sport we have. It IS a violent sport, but much less so than many others. It is a SOMEWHAT dangerous sport...but for spinal/head trauma it is actually less dangerous than soccer.

Please do not give up hope. I read somewhere about a woman who couldn't even move her body for 10 full years and has somehow made an amazing recovery. She can speak, and her brain has rewired itself.

I was there when I was 17, 21 yrs ago. I was on a motorcycle and hit my a car. I had multiple fractures in my skull, coup-contra coup injury to brain, more inportantly left sub-dural hematoma. They did a craniotomy and took a piece of my left frontal temporal lobe. I am now at a good place. It's tough, but if you have inner drive and a support network to help... a blood clot formed in his head after making a tackle, he went to my school and I knew him and have seen him multiple times since the injury, he's doing so well now!
