Wait...you must always keep the angel in your sight. You must always keep the silence in your sight. The angel sent people back to 1969. An alliance between the angel and the silence? Anything you have to say about this, Moffat?
@kaizoisevil The Silence are memory based, the Angels are time based, there's a theory that the Angles are punished Timelords, just watch End of Time, near the end and you'll see.
I love Doctor Who (2005 - no experience with the previous one), but this episode is the only one whose original airdate - June 9, 2007 - is etched into my memory effortlessly. Fantastic episode, all the more so because it draws so predominantly and heavily on the emotions of characters only created within it and not before.
I think my favourite quote from this whole episode is 'just go to the police you silly woman!' - because that's a major plot point that isn't in the wee folder. The glory of true coincidence!
oooft!! michael obiara aka billy shipton is seriously hot!! :P nd hilarious in hotel babylon :] this is the best eppy of dr who i still get shivers down ma back when i watch it! lol x
Doctor Who does do some powerful stuff with making you feel the passage of time ... I love the last couple of scenes of End of the World, and the last scenes of Family of Blood get to me even more. Blink might do it best, though ...
I'm always amazed at this sequence - how they can introduce a new character and build a relationship from scratch and in less than 10 minutes take you to such a heartbreaking place
heck...its a doctor who thing. i can't think of a single series that does it better...except for that law and order episode with chris noth falling for his neighbor and she winds up dead...cried
This is my favorite part of the episode. There's such beauty and sadness and poetry in that one line. Just brilliant. Well done Moff, well done.

"I have until the rain stops..." It still gets me! Everytime! It always makes me tear up! Especially today, as it's been raining...

4:28 "Oh, the moon landing's brilliant, we went four times!" And the Doctor didn't run into his future self stopping The Silence! :)
