Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist - Early Footage

I'm confused about which is which: Dominion, and Beginning. I saw one clip of him exorcising a bald headed dude in a cave or something, which was pretty lame, but this scene doesn't seem cheap like it's from the same movie.

What is the difference from Exorcist The Beginning, and Dominiun???? Changed some actor, changed a bit the story, or just reedited all foootage incruding things not used and cutting others?

Originally Dominion was created. But after the producers saw the movie they thought it was "too intellectual" for the average movie viewer.

So they hired another director, who filmed his own film, called Exorcist The beginning

But after the beginning was released in theaters, a lot of the fans complained that the movie had too much action and violence.

So the producers released Dominion a year after the beginning.

Dominion is more intellectual movie

The beginning is more action movie.

they are the same story, just different ways of telling it.

A few plot points were changed between the two, some characters were added in dominion, names changed.

Basically plot is:

Father Merrin encounters the devil, while on digging for artifacts in Africa. The devil posses someone in Africa, Marrin becomes a priest again and ends up excorizing the devil, setting the story up for the prequel
