apocalyptica is a finnish band made up of 4 cellos and sometimes a drummer. They play a lot of metallica covers and some songs of their own, search apocalyptica on youtube...or even on google
Why do you keep mentioning Apocalyptica? It's like telling to all rock singers "You are not Mick Jagger" The point?.......
I think you guys rock. I do feel the intensity building up. It is a ery "controlled" build up, like you are not shaking manes, like Apoc. but I definitely feel it.
Yes thats true. But I can say, that in higher positions even professional cellists look on their fingers (I mean positions which are closer to the bridge...you see it as lower positions...)
And here I was thinking that I'd be able to show off one day by not looking back at my instrument.
Hope to get close like you guys though, I've only been playing for 6 years, and that was with me taking an entire year and a half away from anything orchestra because I wasn't ready to play solo.
I agree, probably not for the same reason Jackybones does but you guys would look kickass with like some badass Halloween masks. You call yourselfs "Clawed Forehead" That name just SCREAMS Masks. Soem masks like Slipknot has.
Why don't CZellist make a video of MoP then? I know i messed up some notes in there lol even though, it's fair enought to the music... You played some bad notes on this video too ;) As you said to me: go listen to apocalyptica version again ¬¬
cellocontour, you're comparing them to apo and metallica, who first of all had years of experience and confidence playing the music, and also whose fans didn't give a crap if they screwed up. these guys have more expression than most classical cellists, and will get the visual performance as their career goes on. chill.
The music and the violin addition sounds good, but when compared to Metallica and Apocalyptica, this group is seriously lacking the crazy seizure-like movement relative to the feel of the music. You guys are good, so what are you waiting for, somebody to come up from the audience and slug you on the shoulder? The music itself is only half the performance, looking good is the other half.
very well !!!

dragonscarz13 3 years ago
use the wooden part of the bow
masterchieffan 2 years ago
Um...more specific than "use", please? :)
dragonscarz13 2 years ago
the wooden stick to make the drum-like sound. bounce it up and down (1:23)

What kind of audiences do you preform in front of?

How do you know where to put your fingers without any frets?
KarlFrederick19 4 years ago
Oh my god, that is the difficulty of playing the cello and violin ...
CZellist 4 years ago
It depends on how long you've played, right?
I mean there is a point where you no longer have to look at your fingers after a while.
