  • LOL!!!!!!!

  • That one alarm sounded like a chainsaw running!

  • @twoplyboy Do new installations in Canada have to have strobes and be set to temporal?

  • Comment removed

  • Oh God, that flush-mount horn at 0:24 scared the daylights out of me - we had those in my old high school

  • Strange to have a Weelock 7002T-24

  • @mikemadealarms yea i here a mt

  • Just for know, are there emergency lights in the praking garage ?

  • @paul9511 yes I believe there is E-lights in the garage.

  • @twoplyboy at 1:35 is that a wheelock mt

  • At 0:51, Welcome to the huge parking garage of hell !! LOL

  • The second horn you pass sounds like an integrity but it must be a pre-integrity or a model without the strobe.

  • Just out of curiosity, why is the Wheelock MT one of the main replacement alarms in Canada? Don't they tend to cost more than non-multitone alarms?

  • @SystemSensor224 I'm not sure, but yes Wheelock MT's were replacing a ton of alarms. Now it's all EST/Edwards stuff.

  • Why Is Code 3 Required?

  • @jacktd3 its called temporal here in Canada. Its the new standard for alarm signals. Some other older building were installed with the old standard and does not need to be changed unless the fire alarm panel is replaced.

  • lol its not #FAIL its #LOL at 04:21

  • oops again 00:58

  • oops 01:00

  • at 00:53 is my school fire alarm

  • what type of door you did open at 0:46 ? It looks strange.

  • @paul9511 it was just a normal door!

  • lolz in begining its is the same sound of my fire alarm omg

  • who make loud!!!!!! its to loudy ow my ear @-@

  • Wow, the sound isn't coded. That may be verrrry earsplitting. Why isn't the sound coded (the "classic" code-3 as exemple) ?? Also, how did you set off the alarm ?

"Edwards 8500" isn't old ? " And the parking garage is very impressive, because it's so great. Where was it ?

  • @paul9511 When it was installed in the early 80's i think...code 3 wasnt around or required at the time. It was set off by a pull station in the lobby.

  • that alarm sure does vibrate at 4:21 the screw nearly comes out

  • @eclire123455 yes

  • Gotta love the Edwards horns- they are what every school I went to had- it was a sound I never thought I would hear again since everyone has been converting to electronic alams. Until the other day at work when I opened the motorized gate and about crapped myself-both cause I was startled since the gate had no buzzer before AND when I realized my company had wired an Edwards horn to it. Brought back some memories...

  • why does every edwards horn sound nasally?

  • @kirby636 I would assume poorly made horns.

  • @BellyJae the genesis is awesome though.

  • 4:21 LOL now I know why some alarms are missing their screws.

  • I think this is why they went to electric alarms, along with the current draw. Vibratory horns have a lot of pitch variations, and sometimes they sound GOD AWFUL.

  • @Tabby266 I'd take a vibrating horn over a piezo any day of the week.

  • @StopDropandLOL Some peizos sound cool, like the MT and the SpectrAlert classic.

  • What were you looking for at the beginning when you asked "where is it?"

  • @Gb755c I Was looking for the zone that the alarm shows. I didnt look hard enough so I didnt care..

  • You ever worked with a 2400? I have the 1 zone model.. It's a pretty tough panel.

  • @jtd321 yeah I have. such a long reset tho.

  • Comment removed

  • @twoplyboy that + the fact it gives out FWR + You can't do a drill with any troubles. are the only things i dont like about it.

  • Do you like cover a certain area? Beacause you always seem to be in the same places.

  • @arizonajostens no not really. I'm all over the place in the city.

  • Those first couple of horns made a cord together.

  • some of those horns need to be replaced

  • Do you wear earplugs or some other form of hearing protection? I would think by now you would've lost some of your hearing if not

  • @Gb755c no, no ear plugs. I'm used to the sounds. You'd be surprised at how many ppl cant put up with the sound.

  • is this panel convenital or adressable

  • conventional

  • are any of those old panels addressable?

  • what ones are you talking about?

  • old edwards

  • First time I've ever seen a black fire horn. I've seen plenty of white and red ones but not black

  • forget all those others, Siemens with an MXL, fireprint or ILI detectors, MSI pull stations, and wheelocks

  • nice contunies alarms

  • That place has a wide variety of notification devices, not to mention a huge control panel!

Great video, keep up the excellent work!

  • at 3:04 it sounds like what my school has o.o

  • whell. at least it works!

  • LOL, this system is a mess. You guys should just replace all the notification appliances with Integrities.

  • @SystemSensor224 Noooooo!!!! The whole system should consist of 34T's! :D

  • Oh, ookkkkaaaayyyyy!!! 34T's would work too

  • Noooooooooo! TrueAlerts, TrueAlarms, Addressable T-bars and a 4100U! :D

  • Fine then, while we're in the mood... Nooooooo! Genesis speaker strobes, SIGA smoke detectors, SIGA-278s, and an EST III! lol

  • Buuuuuuuut Simplex rules! :D

  • Yeah, buuuuut EST is just that much cooler.

  • lol

  • nut uh

fire lite is the bestest =D

  • Okay, Fire-Lite's pretty cool cept for the fact that they use crap FWR.

  • Amen, Simplex is way much better than that EST crap!

  • Woah woah woah, since when is that true?

  • sorry for being rude, I'm sure EST is fine its just that I really dont like EST, but if that's your favorite brand then cool.

  • Haha, I know, I'm just joking around. I really don't have a favorite. All alarm companies are pretty cool.

  • yeah, as long as it's a fire alarm system then what the heck.

  • It's funny how the 34/34t at 4: 19 rattled the mounting screw loose.

  • sorry dude...i dont know model numbers....never really paid attention to them. they are out dated and we usually replace them with some kind of wheelock horns.

  • how many different kinds of alarms are there?

  • lots and lots!

  • wow that actually sounds pretty cool

  • The Wheelock 34T at 4:21 was vibrating so hard, it was unscrewing. Wheelock 34 at 3:13

  • they're all 34Ts because of the vandal-resistant grille

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha the wheelock is the best out of all of them.

  • Wow that Wheelock was vibrating so hard it was unscrewing itself O_o. We had those in my mum's restaurant they're unbelievably loud, plus ours had a strobe on top of it. Hated that thing.

  • To me, these don't really scream "fire alarm", more just an obnoxious noise you'd want to get away from... or perhaps that's the point?

  • my parents hink the same thing

  • Man that system has had horns replaced left and right.

  • the alarm panel is huge

  • the alarm at :35 sounds like a low pitched integrity the one at 1:32 sounds like an AS 3:13 7002T

  • 1:32 is wheelock mt in cont horn, and 3:13 is 31 or 34t

  • obviously the wheelock 3:13 isn't a 7002T because there's no strobe.

  • correct, it is a 34t

  • 3:13 is a 34T. 31(T) is the vibratory version

  • the 34T is vibratory. i have one.

  • 31T is AC while the 34T is DC.

    31T is low-pitched

  • the alarm at :35 sounds like a low pitched integrity

  • To be honest, the 34Ts are really loud

  • I have a question, do any buildings still use the single stroke bells or have they switched to a horn fire alarm[I love the single stroke bells set to code 3]

  • does the fire department come when you do these tests or is there a function on the panel that keeps the fire department from being called

  • actually they dis show up on me here. one of the residents called 911 when I was doing the test. when I reset the panel I just lots of trucks..lol. I told them I was testing that the super said it was ok to ring it. most panels have a some kind of city disconnect. it stops the signel to monitoring. even tho you flip the switch, always call monotoring and the FD!

  • Haha, I've had the same thing happen to me lots of times. My favorite is still when we were testing a building at night. We had put the system in test with the monitoring company, but someone in the condo's across the street called 911 on us because they thought we were robbing the bank, which was located in the same building.

  • lmao that is too funny. I guess the police showed up and not the FD eh?

  • Yeah.

We've also had the monitoring station screw up a couple of times. We'd call and put the system in test and they'd still dispatch the FD anyway. Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

  • lol yeah it does. i was on call last night and I had a guy that like to pull pull stations. he would do it right after I called and place the FA back online, then I rush and to get my phone out and call monitoring hoping to stop them from dispatching...lol

  • imagine! Car alarms and fire alarms going off at the same time.

  • YAYYYY!!!! I love Wheelocks!!!!! The one at 3:13!!! Its the first Wheelock I've seen in an actual test clip, and not in someone's house. We had these in my elementary school.

    Ahhh, the memories :)

  • We had 7002Ts at my elementary school, middle school ,and high school

  • To be honest with you, even though I have a 7002T and tested it, those 34Ts sound unnerving.

  • whoever marked my comments negative, STOP

  • Comment removed

  • Those 892 horns sound like Integrities but at the wrong pitch

  • I really dislike piezo alarms. Way too high pitched. I see their place, but they are boring and uninteresting.

  • where was this at?

  • I got a question: Who installs the MT's?

  • lmao the 34t. the screw was coming out.

    Why did it do that?

  • What alarm is at 1:16?

  • edwards 892 remote horn

  • its an est horn but I forget the model

  • that screw does not want to be in that 34t heck how much its vibrating i woudn't niether

  • lol...actually that hole is a dead one. there is no tab at the back on the junction box. someone put them in for looks.

  • The alarms should have strobes (i.e. the 34Ts should be 7002Ts and I should've heard skipping)

  • Strobes aren't officially required in Canada.

  • They should be.

  • Sequence: the Edwards 881Ds, 892s, Wheelock MTs, and the unnerving 34Ts

  • @cubsrule2040 34T''s are the best! :D

  • that 34t has a skrew loose like my ex girlfriend

  • that screw looks a little loose!

lol and those MTs remind me of my ex-girlfriend. same general sound.

  • lol...nice!

  • lol yeah... nice is an excellent euphemism.

  • Were the Adapt-A-Horns the original notification appliances?

  • i believe they were.

  • DECIDE!!

    SIMPLEX, WHEELOCK, OR EDWARDS!!

    lol

  • where's this one at?

  • I LOL'ed when I saw the screw unturning itself!

  • LMFAO me too

  • What a mix!

  • Was that a 34T in the parking garage

  • sure was
