  • I had the same problem with my hood. I cussed it and cussed it until someone pointed out that is an old car and it probably just needs oiled. I took his advice. Then, I felt dumb because it worked!

  • I have a hood it's old but just get new hinges and springs for it and the hood will fit and pop up when you pull the lever $300 for it since your in Kentucky and i'm in Canada and $200 for the hatch the hatch needs new light cover and light and middle piece

  • hey on my 86 trans am the hood does the same thing so wat i do is pull the hood lever and then push it in real quick and it sould pop right up! well for my car it works but u could try it if it hasnt been fixed yet on yrs tell me if it works...i love my shity car tho :) good luck gettin it all together!

  • not to bad man. i just bought an 86 firebird. it needs some work done to it like your step dads or who ever it was lol.

  • If you loosen the bolts holding the hood latch to the body, you can slid it back, i think that's why it doesnt open, its just to far up.

    But nice lookin bird.
