I'm 60 and I always loved the Shadows best of all the groups around at the time - apart from the Monkees (but I WAS a teenager at the time so I can be excused I think!). I was very sad when I heard that Jet Harris had died. He was my favourite of the group. RIP Jet.
@TheVenusLibran-It seems to me that this clip has become as much about Eamon as the music,so here goes-The Shadows contribution to British music is probably the most unacknowledged ever.Their music is timeless and will be enjoyed by many future generations.
Eamon Holmes on the other hand,IS a fat salad dodging twat, with no sense of humour,as recent libels show.
When The Shadows can write and perform a masterpiece like this, the least a tv presenter can do is get the name of the song right.
Maybe it does seem like a few have gone missing in the group but vital members of The Shadows are still left standing after all these years! Good to see it and 'Wonderful Land' is still a wonderful sound. Long may they last with their unique sound. Brings a lot of us back to transistor radios and 45s. I still have their wax singles in my loft. Now we have them on YouTube - a click away. Brilliant.
How rude can people be? Shouldn't you be commenting here on the music? All you want to do is have a go at Eamonn? You try getting up as early as he does daily and present live television? These so-called 'highest rated comments' say more about what YouTube condones in -isms and who thumbs them up than it does about content. 'Thick shit' and 'fat dimwitted twat' with his mind on 'pies'. Is this about The Shadows? I have worked with Eamonn and he is someone you can't ever be - a gentleman.
Great song, but oddly enough it seems like everyone except Hank is doing playback. No bass player, you can't hear any acousic guitar-strumming(and no mic or cable into the guitar) and the drummer is hitting the cymbal several times, yet you can't hear it? Still it's a great song and a great band!
I have been searching for this track for 19 years and tonight I have found it!!
My dad used to play this in the car loads and it stuck with me ever since on some level but not vividly enough for me even to hum it - hence I was never able it identify it and it's just been an annoying thing I had accepted I would have to let slip.
My father died when I was 6 and I'm now 25. Goosebumps...
never left a comment before, never really saw the point - but I felt I needed to share this.
Probably my favourite Shadows track, I remember lying under the bed sheets trying to get a signal for Radio Luxembourg, on my transistor radio, so I could hear it. Anyone else remember Sunday night and you had to be up for school in the morning!
If we look close... the dance ....sweet, how cold after too much time, still the same Wonderful.. they look like priest... very nice... and the Bill Gates cover...lol
This is not live in the studio. This is the actual original single hit being mimed to in spite of the wires! It's still the most evocative and brilliant of the Shads singles and it sends me back to the best decade that popular music has known.
I live in America and i think that some one needs to send this band to us her in the United States... In Detroit we would love you or New York Please get these guys to perforn here please !!
@MsPokeyman I've had a few strong words with Americans on Utube who INSIST that the Ventures are better, I have tried and tried to like The Ventures but they seem so amateurish to me after wathching Thw Shadows
I think this is a great tune when I was at school we were mad on the Shadows. I think its a bit rude of them not to reconise a bass player in the line up, like when they started, Hank Marvin is the Shadows Bruce Welch gets his money for old rope.
I remember playing this and the song Taco Wagon at a show in high school when I was 16 years old, on lead guitar, with my band called Los Banditos. we got kicked out of a Wendy's after the show and had to sleep in the van because we were too drunk to drive home.
I loved the Shadows when I was 16. I still love them and I am 58. They were and possibly still among the best Instrumental group ever. I bought the DVD (their last live performance) and it was wonderful. Thanks for uploading.
Hate to be a pooper. Hank and Bruce are BRILLIANT, and I own about 10 Shadows Albums, and this sounds exactly the same as the CD versions, which means they are not playing this live.
I saw the live on stage and they are able to sound exactly on stage as they do on any recording, that`s what makes them one of the best out there.Forever.thank you.
They are excellent, but you're right, this is the album version. I know they are ridiculously good at reproducing their sound, but if I'm not mistaken, I can hear a bass guitar with no bass player on stage. Explain that :P
I love the shadows and have for as long as i can remember, i am only 23 and what makes me sad is when i have kids i wont be able to introduce them 2 great bands like my father did, because pop music is making a joke of the word music right now,Real music like Hank and the boys just isn't around anymore!!

Sensation and creativity at it finest!
