My 97 year old great, great grandfather blew away half of France in order to liberate it from the Nazis, personally ate Hitler's chest out and then put a gun to his head and shot him to make it look like a suicide, then destroyed Nagasaki, all with his bare hands, and he cried like a little 3 year old girl, when we watched this movie.
ive watched the movie the 1971 movie so sad!!! my 73 year old grandfather vetran in the the korean war cries at this movie!!! not the 2001 one but the 1971 one
@avalonmystic Absolutely! This movie was pointlessly remade. There was no reason to remake it. The 1971 movie was the best story about Piccolo and Sayers. The remake was a total waste of time. I don't know why they remake the good movies, because there's no point to it. Why not remake the bad ones and make them better? This was just a great movie (in 1971) that should have been left alone.
@Potsie791 I agree! I was actually shocked to see that they made another one. And that theme song from the James Caan version - forget about it. Still brings tears to my eyes.
@GiveADogABohnel5 Absolutely! The first version was a classic, beautifully made, written and acted. This remake was a bad idea that should never had happened. Watch the original, don't waste time on this new one. It's T-R-A-S-H.
Not to impune this video but you need to see the 1972 movie that starred James Caan as Brian and Billie Dee Williams as Gale Sayers. As with all remakes of a classic movie and story, this version doesn't quite make it.
this movie is very tepressing. i watched it in engiksh and me and my friend were crying from the time time gale says his speech bout brian till the end of the movie wen he dies. and my grandma died of cancer 2 very sad. :(
You know, being from another country I find it extremely hard to get my hands on these TV movies, and that's a shame! I'm really curious about this one. Can anyone tell me where I might find it, please? Either this one or the original, I'm really not that picky! Or if some kind soul could even send it to me, I would really appreciate it.
Yeah, we were shown the movie when I was in 6th grade. Sure, I think the movie was more about friendship than football and very touching to say the least.

This was a terrible remake. The dialogue was extremely bad and the acting was terrible. This was a great original that should have been left alone.

@pantherquizzer,
You know they do remakes because they ran out of ideas.
Look at the movies playing in the cinemas, nothing but remakes.
Music, television, movies, they're lazy lacking inspiration.
