  • Nice CPU ;) ;)

  • @Proudly777 Lol thanks. I have a new one now.

  • Starting out trying to mix so I can dj. Lol. I find this tutorial very informative. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with the simple, basic free stuff, even though I hate it. Lol. Thanks for the info.

  • @StoopidMerekat We all hate it man, but you gotta start somewhere ;D

  • @Flygon11 Yup. It's all about whether or not you're willing to do what you hate or not, and willing to work on it and go from there. All I can say is "BRING IT!!!"

  • the gain should be about the same

  • I have 4 songs that I want to go from one to another at different points in a song how do I do that with Virtual dj

  • @ladyklove100 Bring up the skins menu by clicking on the "Config" button at the top of the window, then choose a skin with 4 decks that suits your monitor resolution.

  • CPU OFF THE CHARTS

  • anyone can beat match a transition songs with the same BPM...do a tutorial for songs with different BPM's!!

  • Pioneer ddj ergo is good for beginners

  • Nice Tutorial.

    Randallstowncomputerrepair

  • or for a controller i would say the traktor kontrol S2, its the best controller i've ever used in my opinion.

  • @yspikez15 The S2 and S4 are both great controllers.

  • if anyone here is looking to buy a cdj with vdj capabilities i would recommend the gemini cdj700's they are basically pioneer cdj 2000s just mixing 1 or 2 features and at half the cost.for a beginner like myself i would recommend the kam khd410's of which i am using at the moment.

  • good but how to mix 108 bpm and 130 bpm keeping both song it's original speed without using syn button

  • @tarujivan DJing is blending songs of same or similar tempo. You can't match those two songs without drastically speeding up or slowing down one or the other. The only way to blend two songs of different tempos is simply to be creative and make the offset BPMs as subtle as possible.

  • @Flygon11 thanks bro...

  • if you guys really wanna learn this - buy a dj controller and use it with traktor or virutal dj.

If you are taking it serious you learn this stuff in 2 weeks.

  • @TheRottweiler I support this advice.

  • To hard to learn. But I got 4 months to learn how to use this stuff and not look like a idiot in front of a lot of people.

  • ok thx. Yeah the set up was bought from dj that didn't have time for it anymore and needed the money bad I guess. But half of the stuff I dont have a clue what it's for . This guy use to dj night clubs weddings you name it. And we have all his stuff. So what would u do hook it all up and run this program? Or practice with this first and just hook up the lap top and speakers. I have a hard drive that he gave me that has over 15,000 songs. I just been putting it off because I thought it would be

  • Cool video . I'm just starting out I got a whole set up but lol I don't know how to use anything yet to be honest. Can you give me some advice where to start out at? Should I get this program ? Now if I use virtual dj then there's no need for my turntables?

  • @209eflores Having hardware is a great start, and having Virtual DJ doesn't eliminate your need for having turntables, Virtual DJ is merely to enhance hardware like turntables. If you don't know what you're doing, try to find a tutorial on the particular type of turntable you have on YouTube, or, watch this video and experiment with Virtual DJ.

I'd highly recommend you have this program first, especially if you're a beginner.

  • thanks a lot,it help me so much

  • ooh damn. the last time i used Virtual Dj was a while back... they've really improved. looks legit. That's why i was like what skin is that lol.

  • What skin is that?

  • @penjani The default skin. Lol.

  • ITS BEATGRID! NOT BEATGRIND! GRID! GRIIIID!

Sorry, 9/10 youtubers say beatgrind and it just annoys the fuck outta me.

    Good video anyways.

  • @imranh101 I KNOWWW. I know it's grid, "grind" just always comes out of my mouth xD

  • @yougottabekiddingbro Thanks a lot. And one thing that technology hasn't taken away from us yet is turntablism/scratching =P One of these days I want to make a scratch session on my brother's CDJ and upload it. I personally think that the ability to scratch is a true way of showing talent as a DJ. Your opinion may differ.

But thanks again man. I'll try to put more mixes out on YT, if I don't, you can check out my Soundcloud by searching "DJ Firefly" to listen to my mixes.

  • @yougottabekiddingbro My mentor for DJing is my brother. He's 38 years old and started DJing when he was 14 by playing casette tapes on a mixer. He was around for the Chicago House scene, he's played on B96 in the city, and has been DJing since the beginning. Trust me, I know what you mean, and sometimes I feel that I'm not actually "doing" anything because the program is helping me. But it helps me to remember that I'm being taught by someone who truly made an art form out it - without programs

  • Hi there awesome vid & thanks! can you tell me- do i need to get full version in order to use headphones for cueing / listening to mix & or each track individually?I read the way to do this is to use the "CUE/MIX" slider at the top of the skin cant see it- would that be full version?

    thanku : )

  • Wassup ~ can give me list of techo song ? DONT WANT HAV VOCAL ... only want the bass plz ... i need mix songs

  • i have tried 3 times to mix music but its fucking hard i give up!

  • why doesn't my virtual DJ have "vocal+" choose??

  • @kero9rainbow Depends, I'm pretty sure the vocal remover was added with version 7.0

Check to make sure you have a recent version of Virtual DJ.

  • @Flygon11 Thanks~ :)

  • 5:10 beat beat beat beat :D

  • Thanks man :>

  • @blitzybubx69 Since I made it up :D

  • @Flygon11 Actually no, for whatever reason I thought there was. Just a mistake I made lol

  • TY I LOVE YOU :d

  • @Flygon11 PS:WHERE CAN I FIND SIMILAR MUSIC AND DO I MAKE MY OWN BEATS?

  • @FittedCrab74 DJing isn't producing. You don't create music, you create a mix.

  • @Flygon11 ok

  • @Flygon11 largest misconception...i hate it when people ask me, are you creating music? did you make this track? no thats a totally different area haha. ups on the vid btw

  • ahh nevermind what i said sync thumbs down :/

  • I CANT'T SYNC THE SONGS PLEASE HELP!

  • Dude, i LOVE you.

i mix punjabi songs and its relley hard but you maked it so simple.

  • Dude, i LOVE you

  • nice one man i've been using vdj for a couple months now but never got round too using loops, gunna give it ago, only thing is i wouldnt know how to loop whilst doing a mix, i wouldnt like too stop everything just so i could sort out a loop for a song :L

  • @ravenmindd Gotta know your music ;D

Or have headphones. Those things always make it easier.

  • god why does everyone use the sync button, real decks don't have that, i'm trying to learn to beat match and sync is cheating

  • @bubtube21 Yes it is. But this isn't the 80s. As much as I'd love for us to live in the 80s, we don't.

Welcome to the 21st Century. DJs have sync buttons now. :D

  • @bubtube21 And 'real' DJs wont be using Virtual DJ either. This is a good way to learn the basic and get into mixing and using the 'features' available to help you. When you get better, you stop using the Sync and start doing it yourself, then you can get onto the real decks and take what you've learnt to the club.

That's my take on it anyway.

  • @kpsuk You're completely right. However while it's by far not the most popular, VDJ is used by quite a few DJs here in the States since a lot of Traktor and Serato products are easier to get in Canada or other countries. I'm currently saving for Serato scratch and a nice Pioneer CDJ myself, but Virtual DJ is definitely what you should use to learn the ropes, but even with the Pro version there's a limit to how much you can accomplish with it as far as mixing goes.

  • hey does anyone know how to uncue a song

    ??

  • @THEhitmanxcell Right click the small bar where your hot cue is and select delete.

  • great vid, good stuff. /watch?v=u96-7YZUQrk

  • For the beat grid on Virtual DJ, do you know how to make it continuous instead of clicking it over and over again? Please reply, anybody that may know if its possible.

  • @Carlit0Tit0 Can't do it.

I'd give you a more precise answer but I'm extremely tired.

  • @Carlit0Tit0 I'm actually pretty sure it is possible. Send me a message, I'd be able to help you out man

  • very helpful!

  • great man... keep up.... :)

  • @14Arnex Thanks a lot :D

Since this video I've gotten a lot better.

  • Man if you gotta watch this video to figure out this software you are a fuckin retard, press the sync and the bitch is set. And I felt guilty making my mixes with CDJs shittt..

  • @UrbanLikwid Yeah, real easy program. But if you think that using this program automatically makes you a DJ then you need some mental work done. Takes practice and equipment.

  • thanks man :D

  • What program do ou use to make your own beats?

  • @xlildeebomb13x I don't make my own beats... yet.

But I do have FL Studio. I'd recommend that if you're looking to make music and you're a beginning

  • Nevermind, Sync, Sync, Sync, gotcha.

  • Is it just me or do you have to to have fucking inhuman timing to line up the songs?

Wtf. IF you line them up too well, you have ridiculous over lap, miss the mark and the 1st song is over by the time you do your fade in.

    God damn, that's frustrating.

I'm having to play the first song fucking 20 times to get one decent mix.

    Fuck this.

  • @HailSagan4Realz The ideal blend is to have the 4th notes playing over each other. If you miss on your timing, make sure you have the volume down or have headphones, and hit the sync button. The sync button automatically matches the beats so you don't HAVE to be precise. Once the beats are matched and sound good together, feel free to bring in the next song, and/or (while) slowly fading the other song out.

  • beat beat beat beat beat beat beat

  • @winterj003923 LOL. Made me laugh too ;P

  • i am going to petrend i never heard anything about runescape at the end because this is a good tut and saying that... would just fuck up this vid...

  • Why don't I have the vocal effect on my version? Is that a plug-on that I have to download?

  • @asuasianinvasion Nope. I only download plugins on my brothers version. Everything in this video is up to date with Virtual DJ 7.0

  • hahaha nice choice of turbulence that song is sick, its fun as hell to mix too

  • this was a big help man thank you

  • Thank you So much this really helped me :D

  • really pretty dude!

  • My Virtual Dj only gives me 30 seconds per song, Help please

  • @Skwakt You need to use your own music. If you have the paid version you can use the Genius DJ Feature which is basically a library of Popular Dance Music, however if you have the free version like me you can only play 30 seconds of each song.

Simply put, you need to use your own music from your computer, not the music Virtual DJ offers.

  • cheers!

  • your great dude..

  • u r gud turtial makr =]
