Well, he's got me convinced. Public polls? That's all I need to know. (blah!) Oh, he said it would raise taxes for the majority of Americans. Since when was the upper 5% considered the vast majority of Americans? Those are people who make over a quarter of a million dollars a year. The other 95% have already received a TAX CUT and will not be paying for bank bailouts, auto bailouts, stimulus, or healthcare. So sorry Mitch if you make over $250k. Hey, freedom's not free, right?
what's that? can you provide anything other than your remark which shows NOTHING to prove/disprove your point, if you even have one other than just trying to bash Glen Beck, who should people watch, the guys that mention NOTHING of the lies from GVMT such as the Global Warming bullshit lie emails that NONE of the other liberal networks even mentions?
Sure, I could do that, but I'm afraid of being a mindless dumbass sheep like yourself
are you that retarded? if the GVMT is running healthcare and there's NO COMPETITION in how much to charge for the pharmaceudicals the Pharm Co's will charge the GVMT (just like EVERY single other GVMT contractor) MORE than they currently do. You think the GVMT gives 2 shits what it costs....remember, they're NOT paying for it, our TAXES are. They KEEP their fucking awesome insurance plans.
Tell me exactly who's going to run the paper trails for GVMT healthcare....the INSUIRANCE CO's, dumbass
Do you really think big pharma and big insurance gives two shits about us, either? Government employees DO PAY for their insurance. Because they can all apply on the SAME PLAN, they get HUGE volume discounts. That's the benefit that single payer WOULD HAVE DELIVERED. A simple examination of the VA health care plan is proof. It's not rocket science.
It's a government OF, BY, and FOR the people... when did that become a bad thing? When Reagan said it? Remember that HE WAS IN GOVERNMENT.
1st of all, the Gvmt health plans are also currently "bundled" in with programs like Medicare, which are fucking BROKE and ened up costing BILLIONS more than the Gvmt said that would (so lets get them to do that to ALL our healthcare? really?)
VA healthcare system is a fucking joke, ask a veteran (PS....I AM a fucking vet from Iraq) and THAT's not rocket science, take a look at Walter Reed hospital, they injected DOZENS of Vets "Accidentally" with HIV and other virus's, FACT.
Bundled with Medicare? Medicare is a single-payer system. In case you haven't figured it out, our ENTIRE GOVERNMENT is broke...much thanks to the current and previous presidents.
Yeah, and private companies NEVER go over-budget.
Plenty of my fellow vets LOVE VA health care. Calling it a joke does little for your credibility, particularly since it's the most popular health care program in the country.
Again, by pointing out a flaw in VA, you're suggesting private health care is perfect.
NEVER have I suggested that private. or ANYTHING in life is perfect, how about you apologize for putting words in my mouth? I did for you, but alas, I wont hold my breath, Lord knows a chump like you could NEVER admit he's wrong, as you've proven over the course of this argument.
plenty of your fellow vets? it's the most popular program in the country? LMFAO! Now I figured out by your last statement where you live...in a fucking hole! HAHAHA you're a damn good laugh, really
No, private companies that are over budget GO OUT OF BUSINESS. Only government entities get to force someone else to pay higher prices and are continually over budget.
And the only people I ever hear raving about the VA medical care are the ones who get psycho drugs, NOT the folks who were actually wounded. The care is NOT that great, any more than at an Army Medical Facility on post.
And private healthcare IS perfect, in that you get what you pay for. Not something available otherwise.
No, private companies that are over budget get BAILED OUT by so-call "conservative" republicans and otherwise liberal democrats.
The VA is the highest rated health insurance model in the country. Don't let your own ignorance guide your reality. Take the advice I gave the other loud-mouth and go read up on the issues.
Your last comment doesn't dignify a response. It's exposes your utter ignorance on the issue.
utter ignorance indeed, but this time its yours. The Bush admin bottomed out the economy, touted a low jobless rate as joblessness rose sky high, thrust us into war with the country that did not attack us and left the country in a total shambles. You didnt want to bail out the corporations that totally sustain our economy? Sure, let's do it your way: we'll have nothing and have to learn to speak chinese --but then, thats what republicans want, eh?
It's mine? How so? I agree with everything you said about Bush, but still, it was Bush's idea to socialize the risk of the banksters.
I believe the financial threats were contrived. It's not that difficult to set things in motion and watch the sheep run for the doors, as they did. How did tossing $700 billion to the banks save us from certain doom? How? Buy paying off foreign banks? I'm still waiting on proof that not giving the banksters the money would have spelled doom.
It's not ignorance. It's experience based on the fact I DIDN'T take their prescription for my symptomology, and AM STILL ALIVE BECAUSE OF IT, whereas the rest of my unit who followed the VA's regimen are DEAD. Take your own bloody advice, you pompous windbag.

Question: If the GAO, Government Accountability Office, says Government run healthcare is a terrible idea, shouldn't our government listen to them?
Question: If every other industrial country has Universal Healthcare, but our system has created the most technologically advanced, most responsive healthcare system in the world, why would we WANT Universal Healthcare?
@DillonX We don't care what other nations have done. The question about establishing universal healthcare in America is not a moral one, it's a question of whether or not we can afford it. I'd encourage you to take a look at the US National Debt Clock: Real Time (online). Our National Debt currently stands at over $12 trillion (equal to $110,664 per taxpayer), and is projected to rise to over $24 trillion in the next ten years. We need to stop building our economy on a house of cards.
The Republicans have backed the corporate whores such as Blue Cross instead of backing 44,000 fellow Americans who were sentenced to death just because they were poor.

The UK's system used to be great - 40 years ago it truly helped the country in the hard times of post war england.
However the NHS now is a monstrous beast with almost all the virtue sucked out by corrupt big pharma. Your public option is a great idea IF it follows the original NHS model - not the monster that you seem to be emulating with your bill.
ummmm the Iraqi's are currently PAYING off their debt from that war jackass....and last time I checked, we WON that war, Iraq is now free from a tyrant and they have their own gvmt running them.
Meanwhile, BO's decision on Afghanistan awaits while we LOSE that war, how much $ has been spent on that since BO was in office? didnt he PROMISS to get out immediately? How's that one going?
And who's paying off OUR $2.5 trillion dollar cost of the war? Not Iraq, I can assure you. Not anymore than the oil revenue lies and BS that Rumsfeld incessantly remarked that would pay for the war.
Well, if their own government is running them, let's come the hell home.
Oh right, never mind Bush taking attention AND RESOURCES away from Afghanistan to invade Iraq. Who fucking starting BOTH WARS, JACKASS!?
"Well, if their own government is running them, let's come the hell home" ask your buddy Barak about that one dumbass, your other fucking Big Gov buddy Bush is out of office remember.
They didn't take resources away from Afghan, and if you knew ANYTHING about war you would realize it DOESNT MATTER what we do there, you CANNOT win a "conventional war" in Afghan, but didnt' BO say we'd be OUT of there by now? What happened?
Bush might be out of office, but he took us there. As far as I'm concerned, It's his fault for putting us there. And it's his fault for leaving the job unfinished before his term was up. Obama's going to get a lot of the blame, too, for leaving us in there. But cleaning up this clusterfuck that Bush started makes a difference when it comes to blame.
As if I knew anything about war? I knew enough to get stationed on a comfy submarine, rather than pounding sand in the middle of BFE.
"knew enough to get stationed on a comfy submarine"
in other words, you KNEW you were too big a pussy to get on the front lines like a real man. I dont worry about a little hurt, but OBVIOUSLY the whinny bitch Im talking to does. Go cry to your mom, I mean the gvmt THEY'LL take care of the hurt you little pussy
Its Bush's fault, sure the other 500 + ppl in the federal gvmt (congress, senate, etc) did NOTHING to help him right? NO fucking libs voted for the war? think again dickhead
Yeah, because only pussies can handle being submerged for months at a time. Your stupid ass obviously didn't have the mental stamina for anything more rigorous than toting a gun. I wouldn't be too proud of that if were you. Anyone can sling a gun.
You're right. Congress is also responsible. But it was Bush's call that sent many vets to their deaths. And for what? So Haliburton's share price could go up a couple of bucks? Quit protecting draft-dodgers and AWOL fucks like Bush and Cheney.
And we're supposed to believe you're active duty Navy when you spout off about Bush like that? Sorry...you're as much a war hero as John F'n Kerry...as in NOT.
Try doing your duty without the support of dozens of others...away from anything resembling American soil. You'd whimper and go back to that bad ol' sub and hide in a torpedo tube. Wait a minute...hmmm...
You can believe whatever the hell you like. I don't give a dam. In case you haven't heard, MOST of us veterans are AGAINST these wars.
I did my duty, and some of it included duty overseas. Did you serve, or are you another chicken-hawk like Dick Cheney who creams his shorts every time he sees George W. wearing a cowboy hat?
So let me get this straight here, I don't want to not understand what you're saying here. Basically you're saying that you're "angry" about the costs of the wars, you do REALIZE that we're going broke as a whole and NOT just b/c of a few wars right? And your answer to us going broke due to spending Trillions of dollars on shit is to what? Spend Trillions on MORE SHIT!?!?!
Damn, when you put it like that you REALLY sound rational/intelligent....dumbass
What you aught to do is learn that the Senate is part of Congress, and that there are 535 members of Congress, which includes the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Well, he's got me convinced. Public polls? That's all I need to know. (blah!) Oh, he said it would raise taxes for the majority of Americans.

You aught to do more reading and less spouting.

Public option?
Given I can not get health care through my employer I am all ears.

How do you pay for it ?
Its not free is it ?
On a more tragic note if your country wasn't occupying sandboxes there would some tax revenue to get some kind of public option going.
Look at your domestic currency its about to become worthless paper. Then you're going to have to look at food care.
The politicians are in stand by mode while your country implodes.

Oh I see. So you can't pay for it yourself, so you think I should be forced to pay for it.
