  • The sirens were actually purchased from Spokane County, Washington, when the decommissioned Civil Defence. Until several years ago, there was still a Chrysler siren on a tower at a Spokane fire station.

  • Interesting man i could swear...

  • these are either modulators or 4004s not thunderbolts.

  • @Cjfoley96

I've seen the actual sirens in person, and they are definately single-tone thunderbolts. They were relocated from the now-decommissoned Trojan Nuclear Power Plant west of Portland.

  • is it just me or at the end, is there a very faint 1000T in alert, from when the sirens wind-down to when the video ends.

  • nice thunderbolt 1000s!

  • It sounds like there are more then two i counted ten wind ups or is that just the echo

  • @garyhstorms10

There are just two on the south side of the bay where I was, so most of those wind-ups you hear are echos.

  • Excellent recording. In my recording, the one by the grocery store did not sound, but I see that the blower timers are still set to shut off too soon. There are actually three Thunderbolts in Waldport. The third one is east of town about a mile.

  • Awesome ambiance!
