Cool sounds! I have the same tribe running a Korg DW8000 into it and from it is a Yamaha TX-81Z for some mean basslines then on to a Yamaha drum machine. Keep rockin!
Slayer 2 kick ass ;D but it has weak amp simulation. Try to use AmpliTube, ReValver MK III, Overloud TH1, Guitar Rig Pro 4 with cabinet simulation: Aradaz Our Cabinet Simulator 1.0.7 (very good & free VST) or Audio Ease Cabinet (also Speakerphone)
@enthusia492 This is possibly too late, but I don't think 150 for the EA-1 is too worth it. You should, if it isn't too late, look into strong midi controller for ableton instead.
@estevancarlos Yeah, I already got it for Christmas. Haven't really got my head around the sequencing/recording end of it but it still works great as an analog sound module!
@UrbanCrunkMovement if this is what you think slayer is anything like... no wonder you call them shitty. they are fuckin super-natural. even public enemy has used them on millions and bum rush. besides he's talking about the name of software he used to make guitar sounds.

I agree, I've owned and played plenty of guitars and keys, and the only samples that dont quite hit the spot with synth are the guitars ahaha, just doesnt sound natural at all, good mix here tho
samples of guitars are okay as long as it's like a loop of someone playing a real guitar... but single note samples that you're supposed to play, or guitar simulator software synths like this just sound like Super Nintendo lol which can be ok if youre going for that ig uess
Slayer 2's architecture sounds really smooth. The distortions and overdrives are so perfect too.. It makes me wish the reverbs in program were alot better.
slayer 2.5 might be able to fool some people ...it's still really obvious that it's not a real guitar but i do have to admit it doesn't have that painfully cheesey sound that slayer 1 has
To me it's not about fooling people.. Electronic and Dance styles sometimes use guitar-like timbres... I like them alot. I don't believe in trying to fool people... just look at Dragonforce (epic fail). If you really REALLY want to sound like a guitar, just use a guitar.
Great stuff! Was grinning from ear to ear listening to this! I remember years ago a having a home-built guitar sound module but it sounded like a swarm of bees in a tin can! If you ran it through some real guitar effects though you could get some terrific sounds out of it, though this Slayer (how appropriate) unit sounds awesome! Great piece of kit and great demo, thanks!
Yeah, awesome job dude. You've inspired me! I'm going to go dust off my Electribes and use them for an album I'm currently recording for my label in the UK. And this is crazy but I just realized I have the unit you're using in this vid! That's a good feeling, after just having wished so badly it were mine... lol. Peace!
I enjoy a lot of the work you do with the electribe, but this isn't one of your best. The drums were too slow and guitar in typical rock songs don't repeat that much. Good idea though.
dumnat - just use midi cables. Does your Soundcard have midi in and out ? If not buy a midi box (usually USB) and then ling the electribe to that (midi in & midi out). Hope this helps. :o)
if I remeber right, the electribe has a USB connector. if you have a standard pci soundcard there are also some gameport adapters avaiable. But if you are seriously into digital music production I would consider buying a ASIO soundcard because of latency issues. The models of the Terratec phase series are good for startup and are also equipped with MIDI Plugs
oh yeh,the 303 is not a sampler....its a polyphonic synth (FM) sequencer....i use to have a 307....slightly more patches....but more or less the same....
mc 303 was a bust. it had to be the main sequencer you couldnt run it any other way. plus to make things worse the resonance knobs were crap! i used to always overload it cause it couldnt handle all my arpeggios. hated that damn thing thank god for computers.
There are not so many gears... I often visit used-synth shop in Tokyo. I sold Yamaha MW10 for 12,000 yen (about $100), and then bought EA1 for 10,000 yen. Not a bad deal...
wow, you think slayer sounds like this? listen to their album "Reign in Blood", LOL

that has not the slightest to do with rock!
please change the headline into "instand crap machine"
that's really inventive, to put the slayer efx over a synth, hit brainless the keys and mix it with a conga-drumline..wow
